Shiloh squeaked, almost dropping her plate. She reached out to try to grab it, skittering backwards from Adelaide, and full of laughter.
She turned to say something to DJ when she noticed... he simply wasn't there.
Her body went still, suddenly, and her green eyes widened in what looked almost like fear. Her breath hitched, and she remained completely frozen in place, her muscles quivering from the tension.
"....D.... DJ?...." she whispered.
Oh god, had she found another one? Somebody else that could do what she did?

She was too distracted from having fun with Shiloh to realize DJ had disappeared, until Shiloh said something. She would immediately stand up and reach for her bat. Was he really someone that couldn't be trusted!

He would appear in front of his plate again, taking a drink as his eyes glowed.
"Right here babe." He'd say playfully, amplified by the look in his eyes.
"Sorry, just didn't want to interrupt your moment. I didn't mean to worry you." He'd say honestly.

He came back into her vision, and without the crippling agonies that accompanied her own reappearing. Shiloh felt like she couldn't breathe. She knew DJ was a Meta, knew about his illusions even, but going invisible...
She felt sick. Quickly, she placed her plate on her coffee table and stood up. She tried to motion for them to stay where they were, and rushed towards the bathroom, where she would lock herself inside.
Shiloh knew she was going to be worrying her friends, but her entire body was quivering. She hadn't used her Qi in quite some time, but the anxiety felt the same. She half crumbled to the floor, trying to make as little noise as possible, and curled up into a ball.

Adelaide watched as Shiloh ran out of the room reaching out for her but to no avail. She would stare at where DJ appeared and hold the bat at him, pointing it at his face.
"I'm going to go try and fix this, but I swear to god if you are still here when I come back into this room I will beat the ever living fuck out of you!"
With that she would rush to the bathroom. Gently knocking on the door.
"Shiloh, sweetie, it's me, are you ok?"

Dj would look surprised at first. He would look concerned and start to ask if Shiloh was okay before she motioned at him and left.
He would looked confused and concerned over to Adelaide, ready to talk when she made her ultimatum. He would nod as the emotion left his eyes.
He had lost two friends in one go, and failed to to remove himself from the situation. He couldn't even fix the damage he caused. He would quietly leave, not daring to change his expression or show his pain until he got home. Though he would leave a bag behind beside the couch, and text a long apology before turning off his phone.

Shiloh kept herself locked in the bathroom, unwilling to see Adelaide at this point. In fact, she wasn't ready to see anyone. She heard DJ leave, and that only made the anxiety worse. She curled tighter. Somehow, the little family she was building had fallen apart already. She couldn't stomach that idea. The tears came, then, and she shuddered. She just wanted to... disappear. And so, she did. The air around her buzzed for a moment, tickling her skin, as everything seemed to align perfectly and she just... vanished. Chameleon Effect - Active Mode: While Active Shiloh blends in with her environment and is difficult to see and hear. However, that includes her allies and friends. (Must have 2x Shiloh's Eng stat to see without penalty) (If Per is less than or equal to her Eng stat you must specifically state you are looking for her and have a GM roll to succeed or fail)(If Per is higher than her Eng but less than 2x her Eng, you must flip a coin. Heads you see her, Tails you don't) Ability needs to be active for 2 posts before it can be deactivated. This effects Shiloh and anything she is wearing (which includes jewelry or accessories, such as her camera so long as the strap is around her neck) but not what she is holding.

Adelaide would hear her friend crying and want more than anything to be with her. She banged on the door and would fall silent as she realized that there was nothing she could do but wait... she would slide down the door, and wait patiently.
"I love you..."

She could hear Adelaide, but she was also well aware of the fact that her best friend couldn't hear her... and so she let the sobs out. She wrapped her arms around her legs and just cried.
She cried for her parents, and the world that was gone now. She cried for the family she was trying so desperately to build that couldn't seem to stay together, no matter how hard she tried. She cried for the lies she was telling and what it was going to do when the truth finally came out. She cried for the war that she knew, in her bones, was coming.
For a few moments, Shiloh just cried.

Adelaide would wait there in silence until her dearest friend needed her.
