It took her a while before she managed to calm down enough to deactivate her power, to allow herself to join the regular world... and it took her even longer to calm down from that. The anxiety was crippling, and while the tears had stopped, her shaking had not. She had no idea how much time had passed, or if Adelaide was even still out there. She wiped the dried tears off her face and stood on shaky legs, finally moving to open the bathroom door. Deactivate Mode: Immediately after deactivating her Chameleon effect Shiloh is disoriented and suffers from severe, crippling anxiety and severe muscle fatigue. More than that she draws the immediate attention as everyone in proximity can't help but to look at the strange girl who wasn't there moments before, who suddenly appears. Already aggressive individuals feel aggression towards her, specifically, and GM must roll for their ability to control said aggression. (Must wait 2 posts before it can be Activated again)

As soon as she felt the door move Adelaide moved out of the way and stood up turning to look at Shiloh.

She stood there in silence for a moment, not totally certain of what she wanted from Adelaide in that moment. She couldn't even look at her friend.
"I... I want to make this family work," she whispered, at last, and her voice sounded almost broken. "I don't... have any of my birth family left, and all I've ever wanted... was a family. And that means... going through things. Together. Even things like this. And making it work."

Shiloh shook her head. She had no way to explain it to Adelaide without telling her everything, and she wasn't entirely sure she could do that, just yet. She continued to stare down at the ground.
"I'll tell you, Adel... but not right now. Okay? Please, not right now..."
Her hands clenched and unclenched as she fought to keep control of herself through the agony of deactivating her power. Her anxiety was overwhelming, and the thought of admitting to everything right now was... She shuddered, turning her head away.

Adelaide wrapped her arms around Shiloh and held her close.
"Whenever you're ready I'm here for you, I trust you. You've always been open with me. I have zero reason to believe you would ever hide anything from me. I love you."

She bit her lip. A part of her wanted so badly to tell Adelaide everything, right then and there. To just get it out in the open and off her chest. But the anxiety was still holding onto her with a tight grip.
She whimpered and buried her face into Adelaide's shoulder.
"I love you too... but is... is DJ okay?"

Shiloh shook her head, and there were tears in her eyes again. These, however, were not out of fear, but out of genuine sadness and pain.
"Adel, you two... you are family to me... and I'm going to get scared, and I'm going to be in pain, but... Family sticks together. Through everything. Even if it means... facing the bad stuff, together."

Adelaide would hold Shiloh's face confused.
"Sweetheart. You don't know him. He may be cool, and a good guy. But you don't know him. Neither of us do. I'm not say he can't be family, but I am saying that calling him family after only meeting him two or three times is way too soon, love. Please tell me you understand..."

Shiloh shook her head. She understood Adelaide's point, but...
"I don't know how to explain it, and it's okay that you don't understand, but DJ IS family to me. I trust him. It might be dumb to, and maybe it will lead to pain later down the road... but this is the kind of person I am, and this is what my heart is telling me. DJ's family, and even if you aren't ready to accept him yet... please, Adel, I need you to accept that this is how I feel."
She reached up to place her hands delicately on Adelaide's, her green eyes blazing with the light that made her... well, HER. This wasn't something she would budge on.

She nodded, and then moved to hug her best friend, clinging to her for a moment. One day, all of this might be gone. She placed a gentle, butterfly soft kiss upon Adelaide's cheek.
"We've got to go find DJ. He's probably so upset, right now, and it's all my fault. I need to go find him and apologize.
