Vindicated At Last

[Zack Asiv]

The world shook and black chains exploded through the earth into the sky and descended from the heavens to cling to the planet surface. With them abominations of black flame and skeleton appeared to hunt the living.

But, for Vindicta this was the day they waited for as the vast majority of their people live on the border and always waiting for the opportunity to fight it was a dream come true for many. The initial battle was lack luster for Vindicta as they allowed the enemy to attack their defenses to epic failure.

After realizing the world was in the same condition they decided to I stead attack the creatures and chains themselves. Abandoning their homes like nothing to journey out and fight to the death hunting this new worthy foe.

Donovan would be part of one of these groups headed for a large chain that could be seen going all the way to the moon. Holding it in place in the sky day or night.

[Donovan]

Donovan equipped his armor and looked at his brothers and sisters as they were preparing to march for the day he would find the group head to receive the plan for the day.

[Zack Asiv]

The one that was decidedly the strongest of the group and the leader was a female fighter with tan skin, though she wore a mask she barely wore much else besides some trousers and bandages to bind her chest down.

"We're headed for the base of the nearest large chain to challenge the creatures there and find a truly worthy target."

Donovan however could almost... Sense the chain.

[Donovan]

He would turn to face the direction of the chain. He felt it he wasn't sure why... but it was almost like it was calling to him...

"How long will it take us to reach the target?"

[Zack Asiv]

"We should reach it by midday."

The group leader would respond while the others in the group finished up packing and gathering. Everyone seemed prepared.

[Donovan]

Donovan would nod.

"Ready when the group is. I'm eager to smash the hell out of these things.:

He say slamming his fists together!

[Zack Asiv]

"Hell yeah."

The group would say as they would get on the move. Even though it'd only been a day since the chains appeared the world had already shifted pretty hard. the air was thick and the ground was turning black in parts. Sure enough the other hunting parties had cleared the area of any hostile life between them and the chain. However they would come to a ridge capable of over seeing the crevice the chain had ripped through the earth with a dark purple glow coming from the cracks.

At the base there were numerous large shadow creatures stalking about ready to enter combat the moment they noticed any other living being. Donovan could feel their hunger, they wanted Qi.

[Donovan]

He could smell the air and it was ripe battle he was eager to jump in and attack but he had already had his repremands... he would wait for the order this time as he reached for his sword!

[Zack Asiv]

"On my signal we charge the nearest beast. Slay it, and destroy that chain."

The leader would slip her arms into the gauntlets at her waist before bringing them up with a grin.

"Now!"

A silent shout, an urging whispered voice. She sprang forth with the rest of the group and they charged a beast of black flames that appeared to be a bear. She flew right at it with a flying kick that smashed into it's head right between the eyes with an impact that struck with such force a visual wave of kinetic force erupted from the point of contact.

The rest went for other killing blows with weapons for the beast of fire and bone!

[Donovan]

As Donovan made his way to stab at the beast with his own sword there would be a mighty howl from behind the group of warriors and a huge shadow would fall upon them! As a Massive man, Katsuri Katashi, leapt above all off them to land with a double fist pound on the beast to slam it into the ground. The Smile on his face was manic, and his eye full of blood lust!

"LET'S DO THIS BOY!"

He cackled!

All the compounded damage would bring the large bear to the ground, the flames seemingly extinguished down to barely a flicker on the bone structure. It's glowing blue eyes were dim and almost out. However a loud howl would pierce the area and Donovan would feel a cold glare run through him as the howl caused everyone to grip their ears. From the chains a large black flame would erupt as a beast would leap out, mouth wide with more flames raging at it's gaping maw.

While everyone was disoriented from the howl it would blast a wave of fire at the ground engulfing the Vindictan warriors one by one!

[Donovan]

Donovan dropped to the ground slamming his hands to the sides of his head trying to cover his ears! Katsuri would also drop to his knees as blood leaked from his ears, he would glare at the beast and yell as loud as he could in response, he was not helping the situation...

[Zack Asiv]

The roar would stop and the beast would begin stalking forward ignoring Katsuri's yell. Most of Donovan's team was dead or on fire and dieing.

[Donovan]

Drake would force himself to his feet gritting his teeth.

"That... all you got. BEAST!"

He would yell as he charged forward pulling out his sword he would leap into the air to deal a powerful overhead slash to cleave into the beast!

[Zack Asiv]

Growling the beast would zero in on Donovan and stalk forward, it's form seemingly completely made out of the black fire with no skeletal inside as it rushed forward as if gliding over the land to swallow Donovan in one bite!
