Ghosting (Adelaide)

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj was not going anywhere near the market. He wasn't going to be answering his phone, he hasn't been seen nor allowed himself to be interacted with. He was absolutely devastated by the thought that he hurt Shiloh and was only out today because he needed to go on a walk alone.


So he would be weaving between alleyways, doing everything he could to avoid people as he skulked about the streets, really not in the mood to be dealing with anything but his own thoughts.

[Adelaide]

Adelaide, huffing and puffing, would finally catch sight of DJ. Skulking through the Alleys. This ruffled her feathers a great deal.

"HEY! JACKASS!"

She would call storming her way to him. If he turned to look at her, she was filthy covered in dirt and grime and her bat would be in one hand dripping some kind of red liquid...

"I swear to god you better stay right fucking there, cause if I have to chase you any fucking more I will make you eat your own shoes!"

She growled.

Dj would stop, not scared, but a little angry that Adelaide was yelling at him. Did she really come to kill him?

As he turned and let his head look over his shoulder to her he would not show any emotion. Not even bothering to change his perfect posture.

She certainly looked like she was here to kill him. Frankly she was in no condition to, but he wasn't sure if that would even cross her mind.

He would stare wordlessly, worried about what he could have possibly done to Shiloh to warrant such action. Did he... really hurt her? His illusions never did that before.

He would not let this show though, instead his eyes would open wide and glow an intense violet hue. They were violent and bright enough to let Adelaide know getting closer without an explanation would lead to a fight.

He would be civil for now though, in case he was needed to fix the affliction he gave to Shiloh.

"What are you doing here? This is a dangerous place for you to be chasing me like this."

[Adelaide]

She would acknowledge the eyes. But she had a promise to keep and if he attacked her, then he was just proving to both Shiloh and Adelaide that Adelaide was right about him. It would hurt Shiloh, but if he was the type to harm before listening then he isn't someone that needed to be influencing Shiloh.

"Yeah, do you know how many dirtbags I had to go through just to find you!"

She exclaimed as she slung the liquid off her bat.

"Some asshole threw a bottle of ketchup at me! WHO DOES THAT?!"

She would pause to take a breath, staring at DJ.

"Why are you out here if it's so dangerous?"

[Djoser Aneksi]

"I can only imagine." He'd say as he let his eyes dim, no longer sensing lethal intent from Adelaide.

"It was incredibly reckless, and if your not here to kill me, what is your reason?"

Dj would be taken off guard by her next statement. He would loosen up his posture before speaking again.

"There are very few people in this entire world who can catch me when I'm using my Qi. I am confident in that fact."


"Why are you doing this?" He'd say with no more hostility.

[Adelaide]

"Shiloh asked me to make sure you were ok. She's worried about you, you know."

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would look disarmed by that. A sad expression would dance over his features as he spoke again.

"I see... please let her know I am fine. I am not going to insult her by apologizing but... I feel terrible for what I did, even if I don't know what I did."

[Adelaide]

"I think she was just spooked is all. While it might be second nature to Metas, you gotta remember, that for those of us without powers, someone suddenly using them willy nilly is still shocking at times."

She sighed and leaned against a well to slide down to a sitting position.

[Djoser Aneksi]

"Ah. I always viewed my abilities as really too insignificant to really be harmful. Mostly just good for not getting hurt." He'd say sitting a small distance from Adelaide, knees to his chest.

[Adelaide]

"And yet, you still have amazing abilities. I understand that compared to some you may feel like your abilities are insignificant, but to one without powers, what you can do baffles the mind. Especially when, again, the people you're doing your abilities in front of, can't even playing a de\amn instrument"

Adelaid would shug.

[Djoser Aneksi]

"I misspoke a little." He'd say with a deep sigh.

"I understand. I really do. I'm sorry for complaining." He would say, turning his head away from Adelaide. He wanted to explain himself, try and open up. He wanted to explain so much, but he was going to be quiet.

[Adelaide]

"Shiloh wanted me to tell you, specifically, that she isn't upset with you, and desperately wanted to come chase you out here herself, I wouldn't let her, to tell you that she still sees you as her family."

[Djoser Aneksi]

"I'm glad she's okay..." he'd pause

"I am not going to see her for a little while though. If I don't have an explanation I can't keep her safe from me."

He'd say holding his knees closer.

[Adelaide]

"So, lets get something straight."

She would say picking her head up to look him directly in the eyes.

"You will see her tomorrow, you will take her some breakfast and Coffee from her favorite coffee place. And you will apologize to her upon which time she will forgive you and invite you inside as if nothing ever happened."

Then she would pick up her bat and slam the tip of it hard onto the asphalt.

"OR, I spend the rest of the night hunting you tired, beating you senseless, and then I drag you around the city. To go collect her breakfast and Coffee and show up with them, and you at her apartment."

[Djoser Aneksi]

Dj would look to Adelaide, his expression going absolutely dead. All of his charm, charisma, wit, and presence made a sharp cut to total emptiness. Even the aura of warmth he usually emitted was completely gone from the air.

"You really have no respect for me."

He'd pause a moment.

"If I were to slit my throat right now, the only problem you'd have is having to explain it to Shiloh."

The words weren't mocking, they weren't angry, just an acknowledgement. Empty, clear as day.

He stared at her straight in the eyes as he said it too, no illusions, just eye contact.

"It is my honor and pleasure to serve you." Is what he would say with no emotion on any word, making the whole thing feel eerie. He'd then look straight ahead again, wordlessly.
