"I used to use it all the time," she admitted quietly. "I remember, when I was still at home, I used it more often than not... and here, it's just... It has become a part of me, until recently. Ever since I stopped using it every day, it has gotten to where more and more people are noticing me, casually, on the streets. It's like... the less I use it, the less it affects my day to day life..."

He nodded.
"That makes sense. Especially according with what you've been telling me. You lived your life a secret and in hiding, and now here you are, the light inside you growing and your bonds with people are getting stronger. You're no longer relying on your power, and more specifically you're not wanting to hide anymore, not really. Which, is a good step actually. This in of itself IS growth. Learning to separate yourself from your power, your power is your's to control, you are not your power."

Shiloh thought about what he said for a moment. The light inside herself? She had said something similar to Drake, and even wished for something to do with her light at Christmas. It was strange how it kept coming up, over and over again.
"I want to learn how to master my ability, though... and maybe how to not be so affected by it. Whenever I stop using it, when I let people see me again, it's like... suddenly, the entire world snaps against my skin, and my mind can't take that sort of pressure. I get anxious and sick... I don't know if my ability is something I can ever use for what I want to do, but..."

She nodded. She felt certain that he would have people he trusted enough for a situation like this... and, at the end of the day, she wasn't sure why she was worried. If she was going to tell her little family the truth, then it was bound to get out, one way or another. She had a feeling her secret wasn't nearly as secret as she thought it was.
"Alright..." she murmured. "I... If you think it's a good idea, I'll try it."

She sighed softly, a sadness touching her emerald eyes.
"My parents are from the old world... Obviously. They had their own territory for a long time, but they moved us to Zekunft..." She hesitated a moment, before giving Xapham the names of both of her parents.

Xapham was surprised he had heard of them. Both powerful in their own rights. Until they suddenly disappeared without a trace one day. Now he knew why.
"Ah, I see, your father and mother were both renown warriors during the war. I never met them, but I did know about them. To learn that they retired and had a child..."
He shook his head and sighed.
"I'm at least glad that they were able to find peace."

Xapham knew of her parents. They were real. She took a deep, shaky breath, closing her hands around the fabric of her shirt, right above where her heart was. Great warriors, wonderful people, peace... She loved them, and she missed them, so much it hurt.
She was fighting back tears as she nodded.
"Th-thank you..."
