WR rolled their eyes at the first comment.
"Yet, you just spoke to me."
Yeah, his kind was expected. In fact, they were a solid 50% of the street racing population, so they paid him no mind after that and turned their attention to a FINALLY seemingly normal person. Something about him was... eerie, but they couldn't quite tell what it was. At least he was nice.
They gave Joshua a half-genuine smile and nodded.
"I'll be sure to give you a run for your money, then."

Joshua nodded.
"Can't wait to see what you got!"
After he said that a whistle would blow and a girl would walk in front of the cars.
"Alrighty! Drivers to your cars! This race is about to start. We were waiting for the 5th driver but it looks like they are a no show! So how about we get this started!"
The small crowd whooped and Hollered.

WR popped the collar of their jacket before stepping back into their car. They rolled the window up and fiddled with the radio while the other three got situated.
What sort of illegal enhancements were they dealing with today?

Joshua's Supra Purred to life, sounded lovely and unmodded. Next was James' Spyder which sounded HEAVILY modded, like someone threw more money than common sense into it. Last there was North's Jetta which looked and releatively normal... which made it the most suspicious of the three car's. "Drivers! On your marks!" |

WR listened to the purrs of the other cars while they revved up their own. Their Skyline was only lightly modded, though not with anything that would get them into trouble at a race like this. When it came down to it, all you needed was a pair of wheels and a little bit of skill, and they were confident at least two of the competitors lacked the second part. They crammed a CD into the player and turned up the volume while their foot danced around the gas pedal. |

The other drivers revved their engines!
"Get set!"
The girl held up a rag in the air and winked at Joshua.
"GO!"
She would say dropping the rag! The three would LAUNCH off immediately! Joshua and James, shooting forward leaving WR and North to play the catch up game right out the gate!

WR lauched out of the gate, shaking their head as the other two shot out ahead of them. They never understood raw speed builds... performance builds were WAY underrated.
They quickly turned to the inside of the track to block off North, using his car to draft so they could catch the other two on the corners.

As WR went to cut off North they would feel a HARD impact as North rammed their car into WR's!

WR grunted at the impact but kept going. They wanted to brake in front of him, but they couldn't afford to lose more momentum. They shifted gears and floated up to the outside as the first corner approached, then shot back down to the bottom to gain speed where others would lose it slowing down!

North was hot on WR's tail! However, WR would succeed in scooting past James, but to WR's surprise, they weren't the only ones who knew a good trick as Joshua too used the turn to his advantage to gain even more of a lead. His car definitely had some good handling as well. Or at least a damn good Driver...

When they finally hit the straightaway again, WR flipped the cap off of their NOS button and pressed it in with a thumb, fire shooting out of the exhausts to hopefully pull away from North and cut some distance between Joshua. They needed to be careful with that psychopath on their back...

With WR shooting ahead they would indeed catch up to Joshua. While in the back North had found himself a new target as WR would notice them ram into Nick's car sending his car spiraling out of control!

WR checked their rearview as they heard the sound of the impact. They grit their teeth, but flicked their eyes back on the road. James looked like he'd be able to regain control of his car, they weren't sure about his chances of winning though.
They'd be sure to check on him after the race, even if they didn't care for him.
Now it was just them and Joshua. They built as much speed as they could going into the corner, practically drifting into it in an attempt to shoot around Joshua!

WR pulled off a nice Drift, but so did Joshua. They were a third of the way through the track and Joshua was still a full care length ahead of WR and giving them very little room to pass him!

WR grunted at their failed attempt and shifted gears to hastily pull in behind Joshua to draft off of him. They kept directly behind him through the straightaway, and as they pulled into another corner, they laid on the NOS button again and swept to the inside of the track. Hopefully between their momentum, the draft, and the NOS, they'd be able to overtake him on the turn!
