WR would be gaining, but not by much. However they reach the turn and they both hit a slick part of the road! Both losing control of their vehicles for a moment! Joshua was able to recover but not before WR was about balance out their car and shoot ahead of Joshua!

WR evened out the car in a matter of seconds, surprised by the sudden slickness, but fully prepared to deal with it! They grinned as they shot past Joshua, glancing in the rearview to ensure he was alright.
They stayed relatively center to the track so they'd be prepared to block both sides. They knew good and well he had enough speed to pass them again, so all they had to do was play defensively. They turned up the radio some and headbanged to the music, fully enjoying the adrenaline of the race.

Joshua was actually smiling in the rearview he too was having fun, he punched the NOS and started to catch up! His goal to slip through by faking a pass to WR's Right, and swerving to pass him by the left at the last moment!

WR grinned as Joshua approached. He was...too skilled to try a simple maneuver on them, unless he completely disrespected them, which they didn't think was the case.
So they waited patiently, staying perfectly center and rubbing the NOS button with their thumb. As he went on their right, they hovered to pressure him, but not enough to lose any momentum. Their eyes narrowed and darted to the rearview, watching him carefully. As he went for their left, they jolted over to block him and laid on the NOS again!
They barred their teeth triumphantly for calling his bluff. Though they were almost at the end, they were sure he had another trick up his sleeve!

Joshua was caught off guard with the double counter, WR was definitely impressive, however, before he could do anymore tricks they did pass the Finish line. WR was the winner.

WR shouted out pridefully as they shot across the finish line. They abruptly laid on the brakes and spun the car around to face the other racers, smoke dispersing into the crowd. Admittedly, Joshua was the first real challenge they had had in awhile, and they were grateful for the experience.
Now, however, there was a more important task at hand. They needed to make some friends.
They plucked the keys out of the ignition and stepped out of the car, throwing their hair around with a grin while they waited for the others to finish.

Joshua pulled up beside WR frustrated but he still couldn't wipe the smile from his face. That was a good race... still he knew what was at stake...
After a minute North showed up his car a little banged up but laughing maniacally as if he didn't even notice he was third. A few minutes later James' car came limping up and sputtered out after crossing the finish line. North was already out and dancing around with his groupies. WR would notice James climb out of his car slamming the door and aggressively approach North!

WR stepped toward Joshua's car, signaling him to step out or roll down the window.
As they did, they noticed James approaching North, and shouted over to him "Yo, hotshot! He's not worth it! Let it go!" They narrowed their eyes at him briefly, then turned back to Joshua.
If he rolled down his window, they'd stick their head in with a grin. If he got out, they'd look up at him and cross their arms over their chest.
"Good race, man. Care to chat for a sec?"

Joshua would hop out of his car.
"Sure, I got time for the first racer worth their grain of salt that I've had the pleasure of racing against in a long time."
He would say with a nod.

WR chuckled.
"Just in my blood, what can I say?" They shrugged.
"But listen man, I gotta be honest with you. The race isn't why I'm here."

Joshua nodded and folded his arms.
"Yeah, nobody here was just here for the race, we were all competing for the job attached. Which, if you didn't know that, then you just ran a race you shouldn't have participated in..."

WR waved off his comment and rolled their eyes. They had no idea what the deal was with this job, but if it was important, Dog would have run it by them...
Right?
They sighed. There was no easy way to put it.
"You guys being hunted?" They whispered with a cocked brow. They wanted to lay it out straight before jumping into details, because clearly, they were missing something, which made them a little irritated.

"No, I know, just hear me out. Forget about the job a minute," They said, lightly tugging him away from the crowds.
They started talking in a low voice, not quite a whisper, but quiet enough so that nobody else would hear.
"I got a massive fuckin' target on my back. I'm gonna die in a few days if I can't find people willing to help put an end to this shit. You care fuck all about me, but I'm just trying to stop this from happening to someone else. I was sent here to find someone... that you or not?"

Joshua just stared at WR and blinked.
"Riiiiight. So, listen, I don't know if you're being straight or if you forgot to take your meds today, but your situation just got a whole lot worse for winning that race. First off-"
He he was cut off by a loud howling sound! If Joshua and WR turned to look they would see James was on the ground with North sitting his chest. North had a nasty cut on the side of his head and he a huge ass grin on his face. James however had a busted nose a face full of rage! Joshua would run over to attempt to stop the fight!
