Again and Again (Open)

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie held her smile and her eyes seemed to glow even brighter than seconds before...

"It belongs with someone equally as beautiful," She said sweetly, brushing the hair out of her face. Then she added, "I don't need it anymore. I feel safer than I did a few minutes ago."

[Leif Adamson]

Beautiful. It had been a long time since anybody used that word when referring to her, and her heart ached for a moment. Her smile was just a little more genuine as she looked back at Xowie, nodding.

"Thank you. I appreciate that, Xowie. Really, I do. What are you doing out here? Just walking around?"

[Xowie Evil]

"I'm escaping the demons that live in my apartment," She started, her smile somewhat faltering, "Sometimes they behave, but sometimes, like today, they aren't so nice."

[Leif Adamson]

"The... demons?"

Leif's brows furrowed in confusion for a moment. Holding the flower in one hand, she made a motion for Xowie to follow her. "Come on. Let's walk, and you can tell me about these demons."

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie nodded.

"Yes, the demons."

Her hands tied behind her back again as she began following Leif.

"What do you want to know about them?" She asked curiously, as if it were something normal that everyone dealt with.

[Leif Adamson]

"What do they do, when they aren't so nice?"

Leif led the way down a random street. She didn't know the area well enough to have any idea of where to go, but it didn't seem like this girl necessarily needed a direction.

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie shook her head.

"They scream at me until I let them take control, and then... I bleed."

[Leif Adamson]

Leif winced slightly. She glanced over at Xowie for a moment, her eyes scanning the girl once more.

"Why do they want to take over?"

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie shrugged.

"I don't know,"

She shook her head and glanced over to Leif, frowning. She seemed so nice at first, until the inevitable topic arose, and then she started treating them like all the others. She wanted to put Drake's advice to use, but for some reason, she just couldn't do it.

"Do you think I'm crazy?"

[Leif Adamson]

"Crazy is a relative term... and, if we are being honest, I'm asking questions to try to figure that out."

Leif paused for a moment and turned to look at Xowie. "Your eyes tell me you're not crazy, so I'm trying to take you at your word. But I can't exactly make that judgment call without more information."

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie shook her head, frowning.

"Unfortunately, I don't think I will be much help. I barely remember the past few weeks."

She fell silent for a moment, before adding, "I'll take being crazy, though. It's one of the nicer things I've heard."

[Leif Adamson]

Leif took a deep breath at that. She didn't doubt that the poor girl had heard all kinds of horrible names, whether from her demons or people around her. She gave a very slight shake of her head as they continued their walk.

"People can be assholes, sometimes. You learn to be who you are, whether other people like it or not. Which isn't easy, especially if you're not totally confident in who you are, or if you're still learning about yourself..." She turned her gaze upwards, to look at the stars. It was something she often did, when she was feeling uncomfortable, or even homesick. "We are all who we are for a reason. Whether you're crazy or not, you're that way for a reason, and you are totally unique and special in that... The world wouldn't be the same if it didn't have you, exactly as you are."

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie fell silent for a moment, thoughtfully placing a finger on her chin. Exactly who she was? She blinked at the thought. Who was she? What exactly was it that made her... her? She tilted her head left, then right, as she contemplated those two questions. No two people were the same, that she knew. She was unlike her neighbor, and their neighbor, and their neighbor. She was unlike Leif, Drake, Gidget, and Adelaide. But... why?

Eventually, her thoughtful gaze turned to a frown, and she shook her head in defeat.

"I don't know who I am... I'm slowly getting an idea, so I guess I should keep working on that!" She chirped. Though obviously discouraged, she still seemed to be in relatively high spirits.

[Leif Adamson]

"Its okay to not know who you are." Leif chuckled softly and gave a slight shake of her head, turning her blue eyes up to the sky. "To tell you the truth, I'm not totally sure who I am, either. I thought I had it all figured out, and... Well, my idea of myself fell apart."

She reached a hand out of her pocket and turned to look at it, wiggling her fingers slightly before continuing.

"But that doesn't mean that the world needs me any less. And the same goes for you, Xowie."

[Xowie Evil]

Xowie nodded, inhaling deeply, and exhaling sharply. Somebody somewhere needed her, she just needed to find them... and then, she would finally gain a purpose, a reason to live, and someone to protect. She nodded to herself, smiling at the thought of being useful. Until then, she wanted to learn more about herself, and what her old life was like... but she had no idea where to start, and she doubted Leif could -- or would, help her.

"There's so much beauty in the world," She murmured, her spotlights of eyes staring down at the barren concrete, "Something beautiful for everyone, don't you think?" Her gaze shifted toward Leif, and she smiled sweetly. "I believe you will find yourself again, in this opportunistic place."
