Cain nods in agreement, unable to hide his naked interest.
“Alright. Deal. Let’s go look at something new.”

Shiloh seemed to light up as soon as he agreed. She turned and motioned for him to follow her, a little bounce in her step. She was obviously excited about whatever she was going to show him, and she began to lead him towards the outskirts of the city.
"This way! Honestly, this place... Like I told you, I wasn't here originally, but I came to this city when I heard about the orphans. I wanted to find out the truth of what was going on. It's... It's peaceful, compared to home. Even though where I was most of my childhood was pretty peaceful compared to where I was born."

“Peaceful is good.”
Cain admits, looking around.
“I wouldn’t have anything against this place if it hadn’t taken me from my home. But taking in orphans is a noble cause.”
The further they go, the more cautious he becomes. The outskirts were where metas weren’t allowed to go.
“Which territory were you from?”

"Originally? I don't remember. My parents had their own territory... but they never really talked about it, once we moved to Zekunft. Everything I know about their lives from before that, I learned from people talking about them."
Shiloh shrugged, but still seemed excited. Most of the buildings around these parts were quite obviously abandoned, and some in disarray. She seemed to know exactly where she was going, however.

"Interesting."
Cain nods.
"I never met anyone from Zukunft, aside from you."
As they walks, he starts to scowl, his eyes traveling back and forth.
"This place looks... rundown."
It's the nicest way he can put it.

"It is. This place has been forgotten for a long, long time. Nobody really comes here, anymore."
Shiloh was smiling widely, and stopped in front of the empty doorway of the tallest building in the area. "It's up here, though... It's quite a bit of a walk. They don't have working elevators or anything." She giggled slightly, and waved for him to follow her into the decrepit, abandoned building. The stairs were stone, and while a few looked worn, they seemed to be strong enough to hold.
She immediately began climbing them.
"People used to whisper about my mother behind her back. She was a well known warrior, once upon a time. Xapham actually knew my parents... Well, knew of them, anyway."

"Wait, do you live here?"
He frowns, looking at the stone, but follows regardless.
"Who was your mother?"
Since he's pretty well trained in War, he figures he'd have an idea maybe.

"No. I live near the market place, in a little townhouse. But I come out here a lot to take pictures."
Shiloh paused on one of the landings, waiting for Cain. She knew he could probably outpace her, but she wanted to make the climb together, if they could.
"My mom's name was Sadie. Sadie Blue. Her mother was Nova Estan. My dad was Ringo Blue."

Cain has no desire to go first, he's happy to take his time.
"Ahhhhh. Those two. I remember hearing about how unusually gifted they were."
He nods along, careful to ensure he's not walking on anything that looks... unstable.
"I take it this is a good place to take pictures?"

She paused for a moment and looked at Cain. He wasn't the first person to mention that he had heard of her parents, but it still pierced through her. She pressed her lips together, and for a moment... just a moment... there was a glimpse of the loneliness she felt in her emerald green eyes. She gave a shake of her head, forcing it back down into the little box she kept it in, deep inside herself.
"Yeah, actually! I've got one I took from up here, actually, hanging on a wall in my living room. It's probably one of my favorite places in the entire city."
Up they continued to climb. Shiloh was beginning to move a bit slower, obviously getting winded.

"Sounds like a good spot."
Cain smiles again, before slowing to match her pace.
"...did you need to take a break?"
He didn't know how far they needed to go, still, but he was pretty alright. He'd climbed Olympus, after all.

She shook her head, managing to chuckle. She didn't want him to miss it just because she was out of shape. For a human, she was fairly fit... but this many flights of stairs was exhausting.
"We're almost there. See that door?" She pointed up. Two more flights to go. She continued to trudge on.

"Oh. That's no sweat, you can get there."
He slows down further, letting her go ahead!

Shiloh finally made it to the door, and paused a moment to try to catch her breath. Her legs felt a bit weak, as they often did, but she managed to get her breathing under control fairly easily. Standing up a little straighter, she waited for Cain, her smile returning. She grabbed ahold of the doorknob, turning it slowly before pushing the door open...
to show one of the most breath-taking views of the city-scape in Palisade City. The sun was just beginning to set over all of the buildings and homes, and it reflected off the glass and the walls to create an almost shimmering effect. From the height of the abandoned building, they could see almost the entire city, but were far enough away that the hustle and bustle was just a quiet drone in the distance.
Out here, the lights and pollution from the city were minimal. It was easy to see the clouds as they were painted beautiful colors by the setting sun. To one side were the rolling hills of California, and to the other, the ocean stretched out endlessly.
Shiloh took a deep breath and walked out onto the roof, her entire lithe frame relaxing almost immediately.
"Perfect timing..." she murmured, mostly to herself.

Cain walks up after her, and as a gentleman, lets her go first before following through the door.
However, he's not quite prepared for the sight when he walks through, and it makes him stop in place, looking out over the city.
"This is... I didn't expect this."
He puts rather lamely, taking the landscape in. It was familiar yet... unfamiliar at the same time. He steps out further, heading towards the edge of the roof to really take in the feeling, not just with his eyes, but with all of his senses.
