Something Special [Open]

[Gidget]

Gidget wandered around through the crowded marketplace, her hood pulled up over her head, the large imp ears hanging down and bouncing with each step, as she searched through the windows of the different shops. It was early enough in the afternoon that most of the places were still open, which was probably her only saving grace. She wasn't entirely sure what she was looking for, but she knew who she was looking for.

Stopping in front of some strange shop filled with pretty glass creations, she bent over and scanned them... She wasn't entirely sure why somebody would want random as fuck glass statues, but they were kind of pretty. She had to admit that.

Spike hated the crowded marketplace. However, with his new revenue stream he could afford to finally get some decorative pieces for his office's and apartment. He had passed by this glass shop a few times and was hoping to find specific statue depictions of things he remembered as a child from before the war. He noticed a hooded figure in front of the window, but didn't think much of it as he also approached the window to see if it was by chance on display to the outside.

Adjusting his sword belt as he peered inside he would chance a glance at the hooded person.

"Have you been inside before?"

[Gidget]

As soon as someone wandered up beside her, Gidget glanced at them, noticing the sword belt more than anything else. It reminded her of Drake, which gave her the immediate assumption that this person was Meta. After all, what HUMAN walked around here with a sword?

Well, he could always just be crazy.

She shook her head. "Not yet. I'm trying to decide if glass pieces are a cool and thoughtful gift, or dumb as fuck..." There was, surprisingly, no aggression in her tone. She just had the mouth of a sailor.

[Sage Sudeki]

Sage nodded at the explanation as he peered at the display pieces once more. He liked the quality, didn't seem flashy.

"Guess it depends on the type of person it is for. I'm going to be buying display pieces to add some personality to my office and apartment. I seem to enjoy novelty items, which is something I didn't know about myself until recently."

[Gidget]

"Oh yeah?"

She glanced over the stranger, taking note of all of the different things that marked this man as a Meta.

Gidget gave a little shrug. "I'm not really sure if my people like novelty stuff. But I think they also haven't had the opportunity to find out. Its not practical, but I thought that might be... I don't know. The point."

Not practical. But special. Kind of like herself.

[Sage Sudeki]

Sage would nod as he turned to give the person a smile and a wave.

"Well good luck with that, it can be difficult when it comes to gift giving, but as long as it's from you with some feeling they will like it."

He'd then head to the door to go inside, there was more inside than in the outer window for sure.

"Hello?"

[Gidget]

Gidget looked around. Would it be weird for her to follow him in? She shifted. Interpersonal interactions were so difficult to understand. She glanced back through the front window, and saw something that caught her eye.

Well, that made the decision a little easier.

She slipped in after the stranger and made a beeline towards the dragon with the black and red wings. She smiled softly, bending over to put her hands on her knees and look it over as the attendant approached the other man.

"Hello, Sir," he said kindly, casting a sideways, almost suspicious glance in Gidget's direction. "How can I help you, today?"

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would also look at Gidget momentarily before he responded.

"Yes, we are here for a few things, and we could use some assistance. I am trying to find some novelty pieces, collectibles or maybe something with Germanic or Japanese origin. My companion there is attempting to find a suitable gift for a friend who is a little difficult to shop for."

[Gidget]

Gidget glanced over her shoulder, confusion obvious across her features. She stood up straight and waited.

The attendants eyes widened slightly in surprise. "Oh!" He glanced between the two, smiling at Gidget nervously before turning his attention back to Sage. "Oh, of course! We have some beautiful pieces based off Japanese folklore... Is that something that might interest you?"

Gidget narrowed her eyes at the attendant, looking back at the dragon statue before walking slowly, cautiously, over to the stranger.

[Sage Sudeki]

Sage would smile and nod at the attendant.

"That should be fine thank you."

He'd hold a hand out for the Attendant to lead before he leaned towards Gidget to speak softly.

"Guy didn't seem like he was going to take you seriously because of the way you look. It annoyed me, sorry about drawing you in like that."

[Gidget]

Gidget waited for the attendant to leave before turning her violet gaze up to the stranger. She gave a slight shrug and sighed softly.

"Honestly, I'm kind of used to it. Everyone thinks I'm either a child, and therefore shouldn't be taken seriously... or a punk, and therefore shouldn't be taken seriously." She rolled her eyes. She knew she could probably dress up to make people realize her age, but what was the point? She liked how she dressed. "Thanks for looking out for me... Want help trying to find something?"

In actuality, she was kind of hopeful that he would offer the same in return. One gift down, one left to go, and she had NO IDEA what to get Drake.

Spike felt bad that even in this world the people had a prejudice against experiments. Though usually they would be forced to live in secret or under heavy watch in case they had to be murdered, here there wasn't a worry about a Barker scientist existing to control them. So he would nod and agree.

"Yes, please. I'd like that."

Sage would then follow the attendant. He wasn't sure if history was divergent enough to change mythology or history.

[Gidget]

The attendant led the two towards a large, rotating glass case, filled with different creatures from Japanese culture. There were koi fish, foxes, strange masks, and even a couple of glass swords. Gidget ignored the attendant entirely, even as he started to describe the different pieces.

"This is from one of our most popular artists," he said, pointing to a traditional koi fish, jumping out of the water.

Gidget glanced up at the stranger, first, then glanced to the attendant.

"What about... this one?"

He stared at her for a moment before shaking his head. "That one isn't a collectible. Its from a new artist, one who knows the owner."

Gidget stood up a little straighter. "So?"

[Sage Sudeki]

Spike would look at the piece the experiment girl was interested in. He'd smile.

"Looks to be some form of Kitsune, depicted in white and with designs to be a wind spirit of some kind. The most powerful of the Kitsune spirits, though it is only depicted with a single tail which means it has the greatest potential to grow. Much like the Koi leaping out of water, though that depiction is base and looks to be made with no thought to the legend of the Dragon, as it leaps from a stagnant pond. A Koi can only realize it's true potential by challenging a great waterfall, which means that Koi can never grow. In my opinion there is more thought and delicate artisanship placed into this Kitsune figure than that Koi."

[Gidget]

The attendant fell silent, as if chastised, and Gidget turned to the stranger with a tilt of her head.

"Whats a kitsune? Some kind of fox spirit, I guess?"

She glanced between him and the little statue. She hadn't chosen it with any sort of knowledge on it, obviously. It was smaller than some of the other ones, so maybe it reminded her of herself somehow... but in actuality, it was just... pretty. She liked the little designs, and the way the tail was textured.
