"I'm BORED!"

With a rather large sigh, the blonde haired girl sat on the wet sand in the park, as it had been raining earlier, and looked as if it would rain any second once again. Hands played messily with the huge glob of sand, making it into a rather wet "castle", which looked a lot more like a hill made of mud if you ask me. It was a dull, rainy day, clouds gray and the like, but this little blonde haired girl wanted to have fun.

She was BORED out of her MIND!

Not that she was already somewhat insane.

Shh...

She doesn't know that.

....

Once again...

Insanely bored.

"Tch..Stupid..Stupid...Stupid..Why me?.."

Cody tramped down the grass patch. Aimlessly wandering so it seemed. His clothes were a little bit damp from the rain earlier. He had forgotten his umbrella and didn't have a spare change of clothes. Who would?

Cody was looking down cursing himself when he rand into something hard..

"Ow! Dammit! What th-!"

It was a sign. The sign to the park. Cody looked around to see that no one was watching and kicked the sign in half.

"Stupid sign.."

"I'm BORED!"

The sudden shrill of complaint perked Cody's ears. He looked around and saw a lone blonde girl sitting in the wet sand all on her own. She looked like she was making a sandcastle. It was muddy and soggy, but it seemed to suffice.

Cody, his curiousity getting the best of him, approached the girl from her side despite him being shy..

"Uh..Uhm...E-excuse..m-me.." He said shakily with a smile.

"A-are you ok? It's probably gonna rain...soon.."

Oh, did I forget to mention?

Jenesis has wings.

Heh...

She looked up, eyes bright, looking over at the boy who had spoken to her. Did he want to play with her too?!--.....

Face fell when he didn't mention anything about having fun. Instead, mentioned the rain; so long as it didn't thunder, she would be fine, but it didn't look like it'd be THAT bad... Just rain, Jenesis hoped.

She grinned up at him and nodded.

"If it doesn't rain, then I'll be fine!"

Picked up more of the sand blobs and squished it into the "castle" to make it bigger. Slight sigh.

"Do you want to play?"

Well, he was already wet. It would start raining soon, so who cares if you got mud on ya?

Play...Play?

Cody was just asked if he wanted to play.

He didn't understand until he looked down at the sandcastle. Then he looked at the girl. He understood then.

It didn't look like she was really going to move anywhere. She looked as if she was more fixiated on keeping her attention. No matter what Cody said. So he happily obliged.

"Play? Sure! I'd love to play with you." He smiled.

He sat down in the somewhat soggy sand in front of her and her castle. His clothes dragged him down slightly with the weight of them being wet.

"So lemme guess...Are we gonna make the biggest sandcastle here? A sand kingdom?" He asked with a smile. He was really eager to play with this girl.

He began patting small batches of sand in his hands for the soggy castle.

Her face brightened up a whole lot when he mentioned...

SAND KINGDOM!?

She looked up at the sky, then back at the sand, then at the boy.

"Ohhh! That would be so cool! We better hurry though, 'cause it seems like the clouds are going to cry soon."

She meant the rain, but, whatever!

Hands scooped up a lot of the sand much, and began making something like the Great Wall of China, only it was the Great Wall of Sand Kingdom! The boundaries!

She got up and ran toward the trees where she picked up sticks and dropped leaves and brought them over for them to use.

"Have you ever made a sand kingdom before???"

He was impressed with this girl's enthusiasm. He liked the way she responded when he said "Sand Kingdom". He liked it that she wanted to get right to work. It made him smile like he'd never felt like this before.

As she went to go get some sticks and other items from a nearby tree. That's when he saw the wings. Cody shook his head thinking he was seeing things..


..He was not.

..But that still didn't stop him. Because the second she turned around the was she was smiling made him forget all about it.

"Have you ever made a sand kingdom before???"

Cody chuckled and continued patting down fresh buildable sand as she work away what seemed endlessly at the boundaries of the great kingdom.

"Heh..No..I can't say I have! This one will be my first!"

Cody smiled wide as he looked at the girl grinning ear to ear while he worked at making the towers for the kingdom. She seemed to be having some fun. Cody thought he'd try and say something to make her even happier!

"Hey! Tell you what!? Once we finish this great kingdom...Do you want to be the Queen?" He said as he looked up into the sky briefly.

"ME TOO!!!"

Rather bright smile on her face as she started piling sand muck onto her left arm, in hopes to make a bridge! With her right hand, she patted the sand down nice and hard before slowly slipping her arm out, careful not to pull out too quickly so it wouldn't collapse. Once out and the bridge was still standing, she clapped her hands together before smoothing it out!

SAND KINGDOM!

"Hey! Tell you what!? Once we finish this great kingdom...Do you want to be the Queen?"


Queen....?

"YEAH! That'd be pretty awesome.. Oh! Do you want to be king?!"

Eyes wide open as she looked over at him, erupting in a tiny laughter before taking one of the sticks and sticking it into one end of the bridge.

Pretty. =)

This is going to be a pretty kingdom!

Cody smiled as the girl happily cooed at the completion of her bridge. He had just finished making some of the biggest watch towers for the castle. They went to his foot all the way past his knee. He smiled. He was having fun.

He grabbed a handful of soggy wet sand and began making small almost house-like places where the peasants would live. He made them out of small twigs and leaves. It's amazing how such a strange boy and girl could create something so big and beautiful.

"YEAH! That'd be pretty awesome.. Oh! Do you want to be king?!"


King? Me...?

Was she asking Cody if he wanted to be King?..

He liked it!

"Wow! I'd love to!.."

He then raised his fist in the air after making a small stable for the horsemen who would ride for them.

"Long live Queen...! Uh.."

Her name..

What was her name?

He felt a little stupid shouting that out loud like that but he meant it!..As he thought he felt something drip onto his already raised hand.

She grinned.

"JENESIS! I'm Jenesis!"

Her laughter died away slowly as she felt a raindrop on her arm, then her head. Blinking, she stared up at the sky, a slight frown on her face, for two reasons. Can you guess what those two reasons were?

The first would be because their sand kingdom would all turn into mush in a matter of seconds, depending on how hard the rain would come.

The other...?

"...I wonder why the clouds are crying again..."

She bit down on her lower lip as she continued piling up the sand to make a giant castle, the rain starting to come into a heavier drizzle. Light smile carried on her face as she continued piling, and piling...

"Oh! What's your name?!"

By then the rain would start coming down, completely drenching Jenesis once again.

The rain seemed to come down in buckets! It seemed like it was almost pouring! Cody felt the rain as it showered all over him. He didn't phase one bit. Instead he smiled.

"My name is Cody!" He laughed.

He watched as Jenesis worked hard to keep her beloved kingdom up and he watched as she became drenched in water heavily just like him. The rain was coming down hard now. Cody felt his clothes get heavy as the rain fell on him. His hand wraps began to sting a little.

"Ouch.." Cody whispered to himself a bit. But that didn't stop him from building. He continued working as hard as he could to keep their kingdom there.

"Come here, you're going to catch a cold." Cody said with a smile as he walked over and placed his jacket on the girl. He stood there with an undershirt on and smiled.

By now the rain almost seemed like a squall. It was becoming really heavy and the castle looked like it wouldn't last much longer. Cody had to think. And fast.

Cody looked around the park for something he could use..Then it hit him. He spotted a stray blanket in the distance floating on a piece of wood floating on the ground with a couple of other peices next to it.

"Stay right here! I'll save the castle!" Cody said gallantly as he took off towards the stray items.

He picked them up as the wetness fell on top of him strongly. He obtained the items and brought them back into the castle. He stuck the giant peice of wood firmly into the sand and put the blanket over the wood so it made a tent. Cody then took the few small peices of wood and went to the corners of the blanket to secure it. Then he realized..

I don't have a hammer..

He looked at his fist. It was dripping red from the stinging. He then closed his eyes and hammered the small peice of wood through the blanket and securing it to the ground.

He did the same with the other corners.

Coming to the last one he pounded it down..his hand began to start dripping with red..

He turned to Jenesis, smiled and pointed to the large tree near the sand.

"We should be dry over there!"

CODY!

What a unique name! Or was it common? Eh, Jenesis didn't know too many people, but the fact that he disregarded her wings was awesome. How he didn't care, how he treated her like a normal person. It reminded her of Unfeathered! Only he didn't have white hair.

The pang of remorse, the sense in the bottom of her gut, telling her to stay away from him.

But she didn't; friends were lovely to have!

She grinned, watching him run off to get some items, suddenly warm as a jacket draped over her, slipping her arms into the sleeves. Ha! A little big!

But then...

His hands.

She stared at them while he worked, wanting to stop him, but couldn't move from her spot. Couldn't speak even with her mouth opened, the words caught in her throat. Eyes slightly widened as she watched him smile and point to something; she couldn't tell. He was saying something, but she felt deaf.

Why did he...?

Red..

That color...

Slightly trembling, whether she was cold or for a different reason. Smiling, though eyes watered, blending in with the rain, making it rather hard to tell if she was crying, though eyes turned slightly pink...

...red..

Not just any red though. Blood red.

"..you shouldn't have done that..."[/size]

Still smiling, slight sniffle.

"Always could have made another one.."[/size]

Walked toward him, the sleeves of his jacket way too long for her arms, though she lightly pulled on his arm through the fabric, tugging him toward the tree.

"Silly goose!"

Pulled out a pink bandana that was already drenched wet, squeezed out the extra water and made a pretty - though tight - bow on one of his hands.

"Silly.."

Sad smile?

Cody followed her as he was jerked aside under the tree, smiling as he went along with her. He knew he'd done right.

But then she noticed..

The blood running from his hand..

He didn't want anyone to know of his disease. How wounds would open constantly in his hands under his hand wraps. The entire reason why he wore such items was to cover it up.

She sounded upset as she looked at the one wound on his hand. Cody didn't know what to say. He was very surprised as he could hear the quivering in her voice. He didn't know if she was scared or sad..

He watched carefully as she tied a prety pink bow around his hand. He was almost brought to tears.

"Th-thank you.."

He took a minor pause to gain his composure..

"You know...You're my first friend in his town..I..I really appreciate this..."

He smiled as he looked at her.

"Here..I want to show you something..Please..Don't be alarmed.."

He held out his other hand with a dusty hand wrap tied around it..He began to unravel it..Revealing an open infected wound the size of a small marble.

"It's a result of a disease..I..I don't know what it is.."

He was a little bit reluctant as he showed her his weakest spot as it hurt so much but he trusted her as the ran fell outside.

He clenched the pink bandana tied across his hand tightly..

"I'll treasure this.."

Sympathetic...

A sad smile fell upon her face as she looked at his hands, her own small ones coming up to wrap them around his wounds. She wished she had healing powers, like the faerie's did in story books, but she was a faerie in a human world, and such powers and fantasy didn't exist - because people didn't believe in them.

"My...My parents might...."

..no...no...don't bring mum and dad into this.. Don't... Don't bring them into this...

Her body shook slightly, hands slightly trembling. She was not afraid of him, nor was she afraid of her parents - she was simply afraid of what they would do with him if they found out...

...what they would do..to....him..?

Unwanted memories - she tried desperately hard to keep them out by looking up at Cody.

And then...

She sneezed.

It was one of those cute-sy sneezes, sounded almost like a cough.

She broke out into a genuine smile - such a dramatic scene disrupted by a sneeze!

"..well, as you can see, I'm not exactly normal either.. At least, not in the human world."

She was referring to her wings that were stitched onto her back.

"I'm sure people will find a cure...but until then, you hafta be strong."

She smiled brightly.

"And smile."

Smile..

Cody would smile. Smile like he'd never done so before. He felt her hands over his wounds. He felt the sting of her touching them. He held back the pain as much as he could so that he could maintain his smile in front of Jenesis.

And then..Suddenly.

A sneeze.

A really cute sneeze.

Cody couldn't help but smile and laugh at her. She sounded so cute.

He eyed her wings.

"Hey Jenesis.." he started.

"Your wings.." It felt funny. Between the both of them they were deviants. Weird people from the world. Both with oddities.

"..They look very pretty. Are you a special faerie?" He smiled. Cody didn't care if she had wings or not but the fact that he liked them remained.

He slumped back against the tree. The pain in his hands coming back to him now. He felt it course through but he was in no hurry to put his hand wraps back on. The feeling of her hands made it somewhat better.

"You know..I think you're a faerie!" He said brightly. He looked up.
"Let me tell you. This is the best i've felt ever! No stiches or medical salves will work for this disease. But you've made the pain go away!" He looked at her with the utmost sincerity and beamed a smile.

She froze a bit when he mentioned her wings. That slight pause between his next words seemed like forever in her view; as much as Jenesis hated to admit it, she was very self-conscious about herself. She wasn't before, but due to recent events, lately, she's been tugging slightly on her wings to check that they're there, as if someone would rip them off her shoulders and leave her to die.

His next words though, made her smile brightly, and nodded her head. She wasn't sure about a special faerie though; she hadn't met any other faeries on Earth, but maybe because Jenesis is the only one that can't fly...

His next words made her sadly smile. She may have made the pain go away, but that still didn't mean his hands were fixed. It still didn't mean that his disease was gone.

"Maybe that's why the clouds are raining..."[/size]

She said quietly to herself, brightening up her smile, making a mask out of her face to hide the pain.

"Because there's so much pain in this world."

She whispered so quietly to herself, that through the pouring rain, it would have been almost impossible to hear.

"Hm... Do you go to 259??"

Her attempt to change the topic, a grin on her face as she splashed into a puddle!
