He nodded. "I'd rather be open than not," he said with a little smile, before turning back to Kaia.
"I have three solid fighters in my organization. They're all worth fighting. I would bet that taking them on would spark your interest more. I would even let you choose. I can't exactly ask you to join your power with ours without showing you that we have power worth joining."

"Or are you not interested in his sorry ass? You're totally valid if you're not."
She's a bit suspicious about a bet that someone would spark her interest enough to make her want to join. That's either a tall order or there's a gimmick. Either way she needs to know the answer to the most important question: Is Cain still definitely unworthy?

The man smiled slightly and glanced between the two of them for a moment.
"I specifically asked the twins to invite you here, as the person to successfully find the twins. You managed to get through everything they threw at you, and seemed interested in what they said. Without any hints." He glanced at Cain. "If he can prove himself, we would be interested in him. He obviously has some strength to him, but he had help. He would need a different trial to prove himself to us."

Cain looks away from her, his glare moving on to the Droogs' leader.
"What trial, then?"

He tapped his chin thoughtfully for a moment, turning his attention back to Cain. He gave a slight shake of his shoulders. "I will need to confer with the rest of my organization. Would you be interested, then?"

With that, he turned to look at Kaia. "But, this meeting is honestly about you. You impressed the twins, and you impressed me. We could use somebody like you."

"Yeah, probably." Kaia would say, not at all afraid to think highly of herself.
"So who are your three fighters, then? The ones that'll capture my interest?"
Part of her would just like to see how THAT happens.

"Rat, here, is excellent in hand to hand combat, with no weapons." He pointed to the boy, who looked up as his name was spoken. Turning, he waved almost idly at Kaia. "We also have Rooster, who doesn't utilize Qi often when fighting. He's a brawler, I suppose you could say. He isn't here just yet, but he will join us soon."
Then, the man glanced towards the door, and his shoulders stiffened slightly. It was almost imperceptible, but it was there.
"And then... there's Dog. You met her, already."
