Rooster nodded, his bravado dying for a moment. He looked contemplative, maybe even a bit strained, as he glanced in the direction Rat had gone.
"It... Its Rat's main driving goal behind all of this..." he admitted softly.
Snake reached out a hand and rested it on Rooster's shoulder. The taller man glanced back at him, and his leader gave a shake of his head, sadness touching his features for a moment.
"Thats enough, Rooster. We have to go find our friend, now. I hope you have enough to at least think about our offer. We would love to have you help us, Kaia."

Kaia would cross her arms and look down in thought before glancing back up at Snake.
"I do, actually. Do I still have to fight someone or can I just say I'm in?"

"You've already more than proven yourself, Kaia." Snake said with a smile and a nod. He stepped up to her, bypassing Rooster entirely. "We would love to have you join us." He held out a hand for her to shake.

Her eyes narrow down at the hand.
He probably wasn't going to start squeezing...so it was probably alright. She raises her hand to shake his.

As soon as she took his hand, Kaia would feel a rush of cold pass over her, and through her. It would stop only twice, around her neck and deep inside of her heart, before it began to flood outward. The cold would turn to a flash of fire, and she would feel power down to her fingertips... raw, and unfiltered. Then, as he released her hand, the power would settle to a very slight tingling.
"Welcome to the Droogs, Goat," he murmured. Cain would hear Snake utilize Kaia's real name, but Kaia would hear the name he gave her... and suddenly, that name would fill her mind. She would be unable to even so much as think of her own name. Instead, when she tried, she would hear the name Goat. It would settle in her mind and her heart as HER name.

If there was something wrong, the only sign of it Kaia showed would be furrowed brows then a few blinks of confusion right at the end.
"Thanks..." she'd reply, though obviously she was still trying to settle what just happened. She'd glance over at Cain, tilting her head like she suddenly realized he'd said something a moment ago.
"Huh?"

Cain's just looking at her in disappointment.
"I thought we came here to kick some ass. I was going to do their tests to prove I could do it. But you actually went through with it?"

Snake turned his attention to Cain in that moment, giving a slight shake of his head.
"You are free to help us if you want to. If it is power you seek, that is something we have in spades."
Glancing between the two once more, he motioned towards the opening into the rest of the warehouse. "However, we really do need to go find our friend, and you both look tired. We will be in touch, Goat."

She sighs in frustration then shakes her head.
"Forget it!"
She glances at Snake and just nods, not bothering to figure out how. That's his problem.
"Right. Until then, I guess."

Snake stared at Cain, a knowing look plastered across his face. He smiled and nodded, seemingly unbothered by the jab the boy made. He motioned for Cain to follow after his friend.
"Run along, now," he said softly, before turning his back to the boy and focusing once more on Rooster.
