The End Is The Beginning (Rose)

With the world's sudden ending, there has been an insane amount of souls going through the afterlife. Even a new Death God like Elias has been swamped with work, so much that he's been forced to expend most of his power to keep his domain from collapsing under the strain.

Now, Elias is basically crawling up the stairs leading to his realm, breathing heavily and sweating the entire time.

Rose would follow quietly behind him, fidgeting as she considered what she could do. After a moment of internal struggle, she settled on the fact that her life goal was to protect him so...

"C-can...can I help?"

But of course, it was hard for her not to ask permission first.

"I don't... know..."

He pants, pausing on the steps.

Then basically slipping to fall on his hands and knees.

"...yes..."

[Rose Princeton]

She looks startled when he falls, her hand quickly moving to hold his shoulders.

"C-can I carry you!?"

It's the only thing she could think of doing.

[Elias Wyatt]

Normally, he'd say absolutely not, but at this point he feels like it's the only way he's going to get out of this staircase sometime today.

"....fine."

Plus, it's just Rose. That's fine.

[Rose Princeton]

Fortunately he can't see the sudden excitement in her face as she's still behind him, but, the stifled giggle of excitement somewhat gives her away.

She moves around him before squatting down.

"T-try to climb o-on my back okay?"

As long as he could get his arms over her shoulders, she could do the rest.

Elias sighs at the giggle, but otherwise, doesn't mention it. Instead, he waits for her to move ahead of him, then struggles to push himself up, basically flopping onto Rose's back.

"...just for a bit. Then I'll be fine."

[Rose Princeton]

"Have a rest. I h-have you..." she'd smile to herself, picking him up pretty easily. She doesn't rush up the rest of the stairs, choosing to both savour the moment as well as keep from jostling him around.

He doesn't say thanks.

However, Elias does lean his head against hers.

By the time they get to the top, Elias is struggling to keep from falling asleep.

Rose would stand at the top of the stairs, turning her head slightly to talk.

"Where did you want to go?"

He didn't seem in any shape to start walking again...and if he fell asleep she wanted to make sure he still got to where he wanted to be.

"We need to go..."

Elias squints, looking around. This was not how he remembered the mountain.

There was a lot more... fire. And chains. And a lack of people.

"...home."

[Rose Princeton]

That was pretty far...

"Okay..." she'd nod, starting once again to start walking. Despite the changes, she still had a good idea of where to go to get out of here.

Her eyes couldn't help but wander, taking in what had happened.

"It's g-going to be nice to see D-dirt again..." she'd kinda small-talk.

[Elias Wyatt]

She doesn't have to carry him the whole way.

"...maybe."

He admits, frowning.

"How far does this destruction go?"

[Rose Princeton]

"It's...everywhere..." she'd say softly, though it was the kind of sight she was used to.

"Then Dirt might not be doing that well."

Elias says, sounding not all that torn up about the idea.
