Date Night (Shiloh)

[Adelaide]

Everything was set up at the spot that Leif had helped her find! Now all she had to do was wait for the special guests. She had sent Shiloh a message to meet her at the beach!

[Shiloh]

Shiloh hadn't felt so much anxiety since the last time she had used her ability. Her entire body was tense and she was shaking.

It was time. It was finally time.

She made her way to the beach to meet with Adelaide, having to remind herself regularly to breathe, to focus. Her heart jumped in her chest, and she felt sick. She hadn't managed to keep anything down, even coffee.

Walking over to the spot where her best friend waited for her, she smiled softly. "Hey, Adel. It looks beautiful! This is a really nice spot..."

[Adelaide]

"Yeah but just wait, this isn't even the best. Follow me!"

With that Adelaide would grab Shiloh's hand and lead her to the little hidden area that Leif had taken her too. There was a nice blanked laid out with a basket sitting off to the side, in the middle would be really elegant candles, a couple of plates with Silver Ware, two wine glasses, and in a bucket of ice a bottle of wine.

"I set this up for just the two of us! Go on sit!"

She would instruct as she pulled out the pasta that they had gotten from Prota, she had specifically requested more from them since they had really enjoyed it the first time they went. She would immediately start serving Shiloh and then herself. Then she would pull out a fresh loaf of Garlic Bread that she had asked Nova to make to go along with the pasta. Adelaide was going all out! The only thing miss was flowers, but that was an anger inspiring thought so Adelaide pushed it out of her mind for now. Tonight was a night for happiness! She wasn't going to let anything ruin this night.

[Shiloh]

Shiloh laced her fingers with Adelaide's as her friend drew her over to their secret spot. She couldn't help but feel like this might be the very last time she would ever hold her friend's hand...

She smiled, still, as she sat down on the blanket. Laughing quietly, she accepted the food. "Wine? Did you get us real wine?" She teased, though it was obvious her heart wasn't in it.

[Adelaide]

"Yes it is! Don't tell dad, I might've taken it out of his secret case that he thinks I don't know about."

She winked as she poured them each a glass.

[Shiloh]

She chuckled softly and nodded, taking the glass and holding it up to gently swirl the liquid around, staring at it rather than at her friend.

"This is all really nice, Adel. I thought we were just going to go for a walk on the beach or something, but I'm glad you invited me here... I actually wanted to talk to you about something..."

[Adelaide]

"I'm glad you like it! Cause I wanted to talk to you about something as well!"

She would say with a smile as the red flush started to deepen on her cheeks.

[Shiloh]

Shiloh was taken aback by her friend's enthusiasm, but smiled softly. She took a sip of her wine, mostly to keep herself from imploding in on herself, and averted her gaze.

"Do you want to go first, Adel?"

[Adelaide]

"No, no! You go ahead... Uhm... mine can wait!"

She would say as her heart started to pound so hard it threatened to jump out of her chest! Now that it was happening she couldn't bring herself to jump the hurdle!!!

[Shiloh]

"O-oh... Okay..."

Shiloh took a deep breath. She stared at her wine, at her untouched plate of food, at the waves.... at literally anything, other than Adelaide. She swallowed, her smile dying on her lips. This was going to be... hard.

"I... I need to come out of the closet, Adelaide. I need to... to tell you the truth about something..." She hesitated, taking a deep breath, obviously unaware of the irony of her statement. "You... know the orphanage I grew up in? I... I'm not exactly an orphan. I mean, I am now, but... I wasn't, when I ended up there..."

[Adelaide]

Adelaide looked confused.

"What do you mean?"

[Shiloh]

"My parents weren't dead when I ended up... here. They were still alive."

Shiloh gave a shake of her head, setting the glass of wine down. She was quivering a bit, and she didn't want to risk dropping it. She took a deep breath, before beginning to speak again.

"I remember them, Adel. I remember home, and everything about it. And I have no idea how I... got here. None of us do. The others, the ones that just got here, they at least KNOW. But we don't. We just... all woke up here, one day. At least, as far as I've heard."

[Adelaide]

Adelaide was visibly shaking.

"W-what are you saying..."

She didn't want to believe what she was hearing, she must've misunderstood... because if she was saying what it sounded like she was saying then that meant... but no, Shiloh doesn't lie, and especially not to her... right? Right?!

[Shiloh]

"I'm... I'm not from here, Adel... I'm from the other world. I'm..." She fell quiet for a moment, turning her gaze away. She didn't want to look at Adelaide when she finally said it.

"I'm... a Meta."

[Adelaide]

Adeladie shot up to a standing position and started pacing, keeping her back to Shiloh.
