True to Elias' word, it has taken several days for Rose and him to make it to their home territory of Gaia. Even from afar, however, they can tell that what walls they were supposed to have been building have been abandoned, leaving only the innermost two that had previously been completed before they left.
Elias frowns as he walks closer, looking around.
"...they stopped working."
He's basically ignoring the black fire all around, and the great chains in the sky.

Whatever was left seems to have just been abandoned.
"There better be. I didn't build this up just for it to fall apart when I leave."
Elias starts heading towards one of the gates leading inside the intact wall!

The gate seems locked.
"...I'm going to break it."
Elias points out, lifting his hand to start forming a ball of destructive energy, when a small man comes scrambling out of the rubble next to the gate.
"Wait, wait! That's keeping the fire out!"

"Uh huh. What's left of the kingdom?"
"J-just the walls. There's a handful of knights left, between them and the bandits, we can hide from the things outside, but we're running out of... well... everything..."

Rose kinda raises her arms like she was going to accept the hug but they are both denied. She brings her arms back down.
"You're hiding outside the walls instead inside?" she asks, as if she didn't even hear the part where there's FIRE in there.
