Game Changes And Balances
Hello! This thread is for everyone who is transferring their character's items, stats, and abilities to our new system. Please note that this is a guide, and you are welcome to ask the mods any questions if you need clarification.
Ability Percentages/Hard Number Changes
To prevent power creep and keep things going smoothly, we are removing the percentage system and moving to hard numbers, instead. Abilities also need to be reworked to reflect a lower potency. The new potency is listed below to make things easier for everyone before converting those abilities to hard numbers.
Standard Ability Potency:
25% - 4
50% - 8
75% - 12
100% - 16
125% - 20
150% - 24
These numbers are for augment abilities. (Adding 4 to ATK instead of using just ATK). Straight damage (Ex: using just ENG) is set at what your Energy stat is.
Please note that any and all changes will need GM to look over and adjust as needed before they go into play.
Healing & You
The last part of our ability update concerns anyone using a healing or regenerative ability. With the new potency, we don't want our healers to suddenly become useless. Nobody disrespects a white mage!
That being said, with the new system we have to change how healing is viewed since healing for 8 damage is useless.
Healing moves should do a standard 30, then add depending on Tier of Qi.
Zero: +16
Normal: +12
Super: +20
Ultimates: +24
Given you can use most qi abilities more than once a post or thread, this adds up and keeps our frontline buddies safe. A normal qi ability healing for a total of 42 covers enough for even Spike![/ul]
Other Ability Examples
Shields: Characters are able to create shields with their qi if they want. The sheild's hp is equal to the character's energy stat at the time of creation, and lasts until the shield's HP reaches zero. Characters can add additional HP to their shields, but this does require an additional ability in their qi list to be used and created. This is different from a Defense boosting ability, which lasts only for the post it's used.
Reflect Abilities: These abilities reflect damage back to the person who attacked you. The character can do up to their ENG stat in damage to the person who targeted them. (Example: A person with 50 ENG can only reflect 50 ENG of an attack that is stronger than their ENG, but can only reflect a weaker attack of 30 at the attack's potency of 30).
Redirect Abilities: These abilities are different from reflect abilities as they focus the attack on a third party/target. Regardless of the potency ofthe attack directed at the user, they can redirect it for to a total of 12 damage to the new target.
Piercing Abilities: These attacks no longer exist, and have been converted to "Break" attacks. These abilities are debuffs that can lower a target's physical damage (power break), defense against physical attacks (armor break), qi damage (mind break), or defense against qi attacks (mental break). These debuffs are affected by the number of opponents against the target. One on one fights have a potency of -12, two opponents has a potency of -8, and three or more reduces the debuff to -4. These ability cannot stack potency, but do stack the number of posts the debuff lasts.
Area of Effect (AoE) Abilities: These abilities are affected by the number of posts the buff lasts and must have a range indicated in the post. A buff that lasts for four posts may buff a stat for +4, or one post can buff targets for +12.
