"A lot of them might still look down on everyone here." she chuckles. "And the primitive work they'd need to be doing. I mean I get it."

[Gunslinger]

Daniel smirks, taking another sip.

"Well, yes. But if they can't adapt, then they didn't augment as much as they should've."

[Novocaine]

"There's a difference between can't and won't. Your baiting might only work on some people."

She's trying to imagine high class Protans working in shops. Being custodians. It was a wild idea.

"Even still, I think they're all dealing with more than just world changes...I worry that leaving them to deal with it on their own might create friction. Or trouble."

[Gunslinger]

"Who's baiting?"

Daniel laughs. Maybe he's a little bit less respectful now that he doesn't have to be.

"That's true, though. Not everyone's at the same point as we are."

[Novocaine]

"What point ARE we at, though?" she'd ask, giving a wry frown.

"Obviously we weren't entirely serious about making a life here and blending in if we're happy to throw it away."

[Gunslinger]

Daniel sighs.

"...I don't know. It's not like we really planned on this. I mean, it was nice having a peaceful time here, but... I'll admit, sometimes I want more."

[Novocaine]

"I can't say I'm satisfied." she agrees.

"We were trained and perfected for more than this. Investigating the underbelly of this place is a start. But what more can there be? It's just one city."

[Gunslinger]

“True.”

He nods.

“It would be easier if we were able to leave the city, but without it... well.... all we can do is what’s left here.”

[Novocaine]

“So what are we becoming?” She chuckles, leaning back and practically chugging the rest of her beer. She would pull the bottle away with an “ahh”, staring up at the ceiling.

“Not much money in being a vigilante.”

[Gunslinger]

“Do we need money?”

He asks, sipping again.

He’s not even halfway.

“We’re just supporting ourselves, at this point.”

[Novocaine]

“Are we going to turn into moochers?” She asks, just kinda dropping her bottle on the ground.

[Gunslinger]

“No... but we can also just take what we need.”

He says, holding his beer out to her.

[Novocaine]

She absolutely takes the bottle.

“Like steal?” She asks in amusement.

[Gunslinger]

Daniel chuckles and nods.

"You could call it 'liberating', instead."

[Novocaine]

"Hah! I guess we'll see if it comes to that, huh?"

She chugalugs the next bottle dropping it on the floor, too.

"Anyway, that's all IF we get found out. The real test of skill is getting through this without leaving a trace."
