I voted buy because you can get money from rping so in essence you can earn them and then for people who can't always do quests (which Im actually going to try getting better about) you can buy and assemble them yourself. Maybe making a list of what makes what?
Like...
2 leather + 1 blablabla = gloves
1 wire/metal/something + 1 stud = necklace
...but then again getting things in quests is good too because its a reward. Either or's good for me.

I like the buy items because you can create whatever item you want. Gives you the ability to create what item you want. Like you can create an ultra cool looking item and such.

Not voting... but because it's clear where I'm headed, but would rather have people decide.
..Besides, people are already voting for it. XD

I don't see why you wanted to change it. I thought your idea of items was to give members the ability to create and buy new items. This was suppose to be one of the ways you would give members a chance to express their freedom, and now you want to get rid of it.
What's the reason for that?
If you do decide to get rid of stats then the shop would be useless.
I can see how i am the zealous douche-bag all of a sudden, and i thought people hated change. That is what i have been told for a very long time here.

My thing on items is they should be a rarity. Something that you dont get very often, somethign that when you earn it its like, "Damn I'm good." Just a great feeling to do. Yes you still earn them by buying them because you post and earn cash, but if you've won one of the god items you know its completely different, but it looks like people want to buy them.

I'd rather have no items, or at least where you barely EVER get them at all. I remember when this board was first made, it was supposed to not revolve around items much at all, and only few times would they be given out. Even then, they should only give like +2 toward a stat boost or something of the sort. As the way I see it, the thing has gotten out of control, but once again, your choice, I can live either way.

I haven't chosen yet. Let me get my thoughts typed out first, and then I'll vote on what I say. So here's the idea.
Keep the whole system the same, with one or two tweaks. This is how I can see that working.
1. Keep the general Idea of two ways of items. It is pretty awesome, as other people have stated. You can make your own items, adding immense layers of awesomeness, AND obtain sweet items via quests. How awesome the bounty of quests?!?
But!
2. Lower the overall stat caps for the bought items. So that way, you can still buy items and put stats into them, but quest items kick sooooo much more ass! So for example, instead the leather stat cap of 5 Str, you would lower it to 3, or something. then when you add two pieces of leather, the cap goes up one. So you have the easy way of getting items (buying) and the not so easy way of getting items (quests). And as quest items will be a little better, you might just increase member quest activity?
I dunno, the thought just popped up from nowhere. Take in mind that no plan goes as they should. I may have overlooked a couple of flaws. I'm currently running on two jelly beans and a small cup of orange juice. Smite me (in the biblical sense).
So would I classify my approach as other?
