Pass Time Information
Hobbies:
Formerly gang activities, such as getting into street brawls, vandalizing property, gambling, drinking, etcetera. Jin now occupies himself with smoking opium or drinking alcohol, or really anything to alter his perception of reality, the aforementioned being the most convenient in terms of availability. Taking long walks or riding his bike through a tranquil setting consisting of a body of running water and trees.
Talents:
Unless getting high is considered a talent, Jin has no apparent ones besides the above and fighting.
Favorite things:
Jin’s dependence on opium could perhaps make it his most – and least favourite substance or “thing” in the world. The only objects of any value to him include a highly expensive, diamond encrusted, white-gold ring hung around his neck by a stainless-steel chain; under no circumstances would he ever sell this ring, as it holds something much more valuable than money to Jin. Another object precious to him is a single photo of a young girl (example), presumed to be around 13-14 years of age. His relationship with the girl is currently unknown.
Mental Information
Personality:
Prior to his life in America, Jin resided in Korea; North Korea, to be exact. Here is where he spent most of his life as a brash, arrogant, I-just-don’t-give-a-fuck teenage thug. The gang he was involved in were practically terrorists, tagging numerous structures with their gang signs; robbing people on the streets; starting fights for no apparent reason; stealing vehicles for joyriding; as a member of this gang, he just had to be the way he was: tough as nails and ruthless. He made friends easily, or rather, made friends with people that were as unpleasant to be around as he was. Outside of his gang-related activities he was actually quite the kind-hearted young man, helping people when they needed it and brightening their day with his gentle smile; he just emitted a warm aura which people found inviting. This ‘softer' side of Jin hid beneath his rough exterior, much like the tough shell of a crustacean protecting its soft innards.
However, when he arrived in America he became a vastly different person; he was as distant as he was from his homeland, as if he had left his previous self behind in Korea, exterior and all. Jin was now a reserved, seemingly brooding figure beneath the veil of shadow his hooded tracksuit provided. He has chosen to pose as a mute, only speaking when absolutely necessary, opting to write on a pad of paper which he always carries as his spoken English is not as refined as his written English. Even though his demeanor presents itself as calm and composed, deep within Jin silently burns with the desire to harm and injure others; to taste his own – and other’s blood on his lips; to hear bones crack and people cry in agony under his powerful kicks; to feel pain shoot up his arm as his fist shatters against some unfortunate human’s skull; and overall, to experience the thrill of a savage brawl as he did back home.
Mentality:
To outsiders, Jin seems to be, more or less, a stable individual, albeit sociopathic. However, this is not the case; he is involved in an extensive internal struggle, attempting to gain control over his addiction to opium while many other emotional and mental conflicts weigh him down; becoming a burden in this losing battle with himself. In terms of intelligence, Jin is fairly bright for a drop-out, maintaining above average grades while he was still attending school. However, his mental strength is revealed not in his academic capabilities, but in the knowledge he gained from running with gangs, namely, survival skills, which grant him a nearly animal-like instinct, taking impulsive actions and relying on his guts rather than logical thinking.
Ideal:
To escape reality; to rid himself of everything through a haze of opium smoke.
Belief:
Due to living in North Korea, Jin wasn’t given the opportunity to practice a religion, as free religious activities no longer exist. As for personal beliefs, Jin believes that the wealthy shouldn’t have priority over the poor.
Physical Information
Jin possesses a large frame, composed of well-built, flexible muscles. His build isn’t overly muscular, but his finely sculpted, sinewy body is rather burly when compared to most ‘lean-bodied’ fighters. Many small, faded scars riddle the creamy complexion of his natural, lightly-tanned skin. Distinct, slightly furrowed black eyebrows are set above almond-shaped eyes, which is coloured a deep, chocolate-brown. His short and unkempt fiery-red locks lay messily upon his head, the bangs strewn about his forehead in a nondescript pattern. As his hair nears the scalp it begins to darken, indicating his hair was naturally black and only dyed red. His thin lips and angular jaw lack any stubble and appear cleanly shaved, but his Korean origin grants him minimal facial and body hair.
Jin’s torso, much like the rest of his body, is well-built and finely carved; his abdomen, however, is even moreso. The rippling eight-pack Jin retains is not just aesthetic, but also provides him with exceptional core strength, giving him a good sense of balance and the ability to maintain it. An evident scar appears on his chest. The origin of this scar is known only to Jin.
Apparel Information
Having to leave North Korea abruptly, Jin was capable of bringing only bare necessities with him. His current wardrobe is made up of only a few things, mostly undergarments. The two main outfits Jin fashions are a tracksuit and a military outfit issued to him while he underwent training. The tracksuit consist of a hooded, zip-up top and loose-fitting pants that provide ease of movement; both of which are made out of polyester on the outside and contain a fleecy fabric on the inside that allow Jin’s body to breathe and to keep him comfortable during hot or cold weather. Both the top and the pants of the tracksuit are white with intricate flame designs coloured black, along with the lining and interior; on the back of the top is a symbol of Taekwondo, the South Korean flag. The hood of the tracksuit is more than often pulled up, allowing the shade to obscure his face giving him an enigmatic and cryptic appearance.
The military uniform is simple; brown cargo pants with two leather straps wrapping around his waist and over both his shoulders, the right strap possessing a holster for his combat knife, and a tight fitting green t-shirt. Covering his hands are black padded arm guards used to soften blows blocked by the forearms and back of the hand. Upon Jin’s feet are black combat boots issued to him by the military along with the outfit.
Fighting Information
Fighting Style: Taekwondo coupled with military-taught close quarters combat, but predominately Taekwondo.
Years Practiced: 13 years of Taekwondo; 2 years of CQC.
Description of style:
Although there are great doctrinal and technical differences among public and private taekwondo organizations, the art in general emphasizes kicks thrown from a mobile stance, using the leg's greater reach and power to disable the opponent from a distance. In sparring, turning (roundhouse), 45 degree, front, axe, reverse turning and side kicks are most often used; advanced kicks include jump, spin, and skip kicks, often in combination. Taekwondo training also includes a comprehensive system of blocks, punches, open-handed strikes, various take-downs or sweeps, throws, and some joint locks.
Hand to hand combat (sometimes abbreviated as HTH or H2H) is a generic term for close quarters fighting, particularly when the outcome is likely to be fatal, as in mêlée military combat or a duel. This distinguishes it from combat sport. Usually the phrase "hand-to-hand" indicates unarmed combat or combat using improvised "field expedient" or muscle-powered weapons such as clubs or knives.
Close combat is the common term for combat within close range. It may include lethal and nonlethal methods across a "spectrum of violence" or within a "continuum of force" as established by rules of engagement. Unarmed close combat is sometimes called combatives. Close combat with weapons may be called close quarter battle at the squad level. Current NATO terminology is to use MOUT for higher-level strategic and tactical considerations of urban warfare or MOOTW for "military operations other than war" such as peacekeeping or disaster relief.
Combatives is a term used to describe various hybrid martial arts, which incorporate techniques from several different martial arts and combat sports. Unlike combat sports, such systems usually have limited sport application and often focus on simple techniques for use in self-defense or combat.

History Information
History:
Born into one of the less fortunate families in North Korea, he became a burden when it was realized that he possessed a weak heart and would require medication to sustain it. His parents were distressed, but continued to care for him unconditionally as he was their child. Jin never had any other siblings as he was already costing his parents money due to his medical condition. As soon as Jin was able to walk he was being taught the fundamentals of Taekwondo by a close family friend. The years progressed, and Jin became increasingly talented at the art of Taekwondo, and at the age of thirteen became the junior champion of an international taekwondo organization. The prize money obtained pleased his parents, and he felt accomplished, but still felt like something was missing. He felt constantly abandoned as his parents were always working to provide enough money for his medication and basic needs. Getting a job was out of the question since he was too young, but he wanted to aid his parents and become less of a burden; sure the prize money from tournaments helped, but they were only held once a year, and he needed a steady income. That’s when decided to get initiated for one of the local gangs in his ghetto.
His parents became suspicious of Jin, wondering where he obtained the money that he had, but they remained silent about it because it managed to cover the medical bills that he produced. Jin had completed his freshman year in high school, but dropped out subsequently because he was aware that his parents would not be able to afford to send him to college, and found it pointless to go through school. Without the encumbrance of education, Jin focused on Taekwondo and received youth military training to prepare himself to get a legitimate job as a soldier in the North Korean army. After two years of military training he became quite the rugged individual, but his heart remained the same, and over the years his tolerance to the heart medication began to increase and its effectiveness dulled; this caused Jin to collapse one day, his heart failing on him. The doctors notified his parents that if he didn’t get a heart transplant in a few weeks he would die as his heart slowly weakened to the point where it wouldn’t have the strength to pump anymore. This greatly troubled his parents, as they couldn’t provide the funds for the transplant, but miraculously, the doctors obtained a donor and enough money to pay for the transplant from a source unknown to Jin’s parents.
Following his recovery he became greatly morose and distraught, the reason fairly obscure to anyone but Jin. Before fleeing from Korea to the west coast of America, he left his parents a note stating:
Dear Mom and Dad,
I have realized that all I’ve done for you was making your life more difficult with the expenses caused because of me; I don’t want to be a burden anymore. I am leaving home and Korea altogether and traveling across the ocean, attempting to escape drafting into the army and communism, but mostly to alleviate the weight on your shoulders.

Love, Park Jin Woo.
