The Chronicles of Shu
Prologue
"Conceiving the Seeds of Chaos"
That was about a year ago now... It's funny looking back. I've lost track of how many years I've been playing Warcraft III Frozen Throne, but you always find something new in this game. Games, Personalities, Drama, Rivals, Friends. How many people go online however, to make a legacy of themselves though? That's where we start, and his name is Liu-Bei.
I will be the first to admit this, though probably not the very first: Liu-Bei. can be a very stubborn ass. He's also very passionate about what he does when he sticks his heart into it. Interestingly enough, there is a very huge chance that I could've never met Liu-Bei. A story for another, perhaps. Our relationship as friends dramatically increased when we found out each other to possess Warcraft III. We did not, however, really play together online at this point in time. Still school time, and I really didn't know the guy. Nothing clicked until I attempted to teach him how to play Role Playing maps, otherwise known as RPs. We came to talking on the phone about ideas and crap. However, the one idea that kept on coming up in the conversation was making a Clan.
A Clan. A good Clan. But not just any Clan. He wanted to make a Dynasty Warriors Clan. At the time, Dynasty Warriors wasn't anything new to me, but I only played the game a few times when my cousin introduced it to me. However, he moved away, so although the music was awsome, Dynasty Warriors drifted from my mind. It kinda seemed stupid, really when put into perspective. But ah hell, it was gonna be put off until the summer, so didn't have to worry about it. He'd probably forget about it...
... And that's when summer came. The honest joe was calling me from one of my games to help him make his clan just about every day. As one can guess, that could borderline irritation to frustration. And thats putting it mildly... He stated that he hated Wei, "Because Cao Cao's a whiny pregnant dog". Wu wasn't exactly cool with him either. Shu however had all the guys who were depicted the good guys, so it'd probably attract more people, and also Liu Bei was noble commander. We bombed the first few 30 attempts or so. Exaggeration? Maybe, but its too long ago to recall exactly. We also tried some Wu creations, but that bombed as well. Needed an Advil. And a miracle.
Was playing a Enfo's Game late one night. It was a Wednesday evening. Kicking ass, I forget if I was the thief or the Arthas Character with Vampiric Aura. At any rate, the phone rang at this time. Yup, Liu-Bei. again...---WHAT!?!?---.... The game ment nothing anymore. Running I disagree off to get to where the party had started. Liu-Bei. could've been singing and crying, he was that excited. He first told me to ditch my brother's old sn, nismo117, and don the name of Guan-Yu. That was already taken. Ah hell, it'll be a name that shows my allegiance, in the chat room, or in a game.
The time was July 14, 2004; A Wednesday evening. It was the 4th of July All over again, times 10. Fireworks were going off in the phone, my head, all over my body. Time: 10:06 P.M. My name is Guan_Yu_of_Shu. Let the Legacy of Clan Shu... Begin.

The Chronicles of Shu
Chapter 1
"The Cherry Blossom Seed Takes Root"
I learned on how Clan Shu was made the day after. Breaking it down: A guy of the name LoM-Melkor, Chieftan of Clan LoM took pity on Liu-Bei's situation and let him bring people into LoM's Clan Channel, so he could protect it from anyone trying to recruit Liu-Bei's loyalists. This took several tries, but he suceeded, and thus, Clan Shu was born.
The Founding Fathers, as I best remember them:
Liu-Bei. (Known as Liu_Bei_of_Shu/Darth_Liu... Active, but vaguely so)
Zhang-Fei. (Known as Zhang_Fei_of_Shu/Tetsuya... Active when Liu or Jedi is on)
Jedi_Master. (He's always had that sn, active to this day)
xxSolarisxx (Active to this day)
Wei-Yan. (Active to this day)
sun-ice. (Became inactive, had to be booted out)
Zhao-Yun. (Known as AramoroBayushi... Where have you gone?)
Ma-Chao (Known as Shingen-Takeda of STA... Play PMaG to see his affiliation)
Huang-Zhong. (Known as pflame, whereabouts are unknown)
GoodGuy (whereabouts are unknown)
From what I understand from kemi-25, this was like Clan Eru, except it was solely dedicated to Custom Games, particularly Dynasty Warrior maps. It was an awsome Clan, back in the day. Let me give you a little profile on those that I remember:
Liu-Bei.: As I said, he can be an ass, he can be stubborn, but he is the reason that I became hooked to Warcraft III Frozen Throne for so long. He's an inspiration as a good leader, if somewhat flawed, but I've never felt this emotionally attached to a game before him. To make it clear he was 'King' he made sure that everyone would address him as 'Lord' and he talked in such a fashion that suited such a position. Arrogant, stubborn, but passionate and strong. He wished for an empire of Clans to be under his rule. Though again, he sounds like an ass from how I described him... You cannot deny he had great ambitions, and unwarily unknown of how influenctial he was. More of his tales will be told soon enough.
Zhang-Fei. wasn't as passionate about Clan Shu. Loyalty to Liu-Bei. however was another story. He would only be on when Liu-Bei. called for him, but his loyalty cannot be questioned. A good, loyal man. More of his tales will be told...
xxSolarisxx: He was the first of the clansmen that I came to befriend. He gave off a feel of indifference in a way, but he kept his cool, and can enjoy a good laugh. Rumors circulate him however... Sabatogue to another clan (removal of all grunts), Being a great former-Chieftan himself, ruling over several clans... He is a good guy, I stand by that, so I leave my curiousities to gnaw on itself. More of his tales will be told in a later chapter.
Wei-Yan.: A great Dynasty Warriors player. Though now a bit rusty, he was a great friend in the time that Liu-Bei. was gone for around 2 weeks. The bond sealed, he's my Oath-Brother of Clan Shu. Good skills, very loyal, but he holds something far more rare than most everyone else: He can listen, and he is quiet. People underestimate how great a power that is, perhaps, but he is one of the few who uses it well. I've been with him a lot this past year, until more recent months when he disappeared due to something in Real Life. More of his tales will be told in a later chapter.
Zhao-Yun.: The Greatest of His Kind. Loyalty? He has that in droves. Skill? Don't test him. Honor? Hell Yes. Manners and Maturity? Best described as an Inhuman player. Very wise. He, like BX is probably in his twenties, or perhaps even his early-30's. He is a tough one in the battlefield, but opening declaring himself in Rally of Clan Shu just before combat commences in games such as Wu Zhang Plains. He would come to the rescue, via Dynasty Warriors 3 alter ego, Zhao Yun. But most of all, he was very mature in the chat channel. Very good manners, he was one of the few that, with emphasis, addressed Liu-Bei. as "My Lord!" More of his tales will be told in a later chapter.
Guan_Yu_of_Shu: Myself. Along with Zhao-Yun., we were some of the few who addressed Liu-Bei. as "My Lord" and tried to get others to do the same. I was a fairly weak Dynasty Warriors player in the beginning, but with such companionship, skills grew. I'll let you decide how to otherwise describe me, because I certainly don't know.
We played Dynasty Warriors all day long, Wu Zhang Plains becoming our official 'Clan Map'. It was apparent exactly how skilled our clan was in these maps after (I'm not really joking, this could actually be true) 30 consecutive wins. In Wu Zhang Plains, here was the strategy:
Liu-Bei. would have his hero, Liu Bei stay where he was, commanding both Huang Zhong and Huang Quan from afar. He would provide aid to the area wherein Cao Ren, Zhang He and Xu Huang were guarding. However, Liu Bei's prime role was in directing others on where in the attacks were placed. The rest of us alerted each other if we were having problems. A major role in combat was announcing ourselves such as: "CHARGE! DESTROY THEIR GATE CAPTAIN!" or "I AM ZHAO YUN OF SHU! PREPARE TO DIE!". We would intimidate the other players and crush their spirits before battle had even been commenced. In most cases, these were first-time players for Dynasty Warriors maps we were playing against, and they would leave their Gate Captain in their area instead of hiding them, or letting Sima Zhao get killed, then, letting their new reinforcements get crushed, with our ambush troops waiting in the exact area they spawned. In the chokehold area defending Wei's encampment (It used to be a helluva lot smaller), we sent in our heroes first, and crushed them, and if we sustained reasonable amount of damage, most of our heroes had holy light, which quickly amended that. Frenzied, heroes Zhao Yun and Jiang Wei would quickly take care of the defenses, allowing more and more heroes to pore into the new openings.

The Chronicles of Shu
Chapter 2
"Budding and the First Leaf to Fall"
How shall I begin this chapter? This takes back still to the first week, when the clan was still barely a week old. Liu-Bei. showed himself to be an excellant recruiter, the only problem was that he was the only one who could. The problem of Shamans had just begun for Liu-Bei. To those who helped him create the clan, and or were founding fathers to the clan, he would make Shamans. One of those recruiters who did very well was named Taishi-Ci. He was recruited into our clan about a day after or two days after that the clan was made. Because of the number of people of whom he recruited (rounding close to, or over 10), he was one of the few who were promised a position of Shaman. The other was Wei-Yan., xxSolarisxx, Zhao-Yun., Zhang-Fei., and myself, Guan_Yu_of_Shu. Honestly, however, I was sort of confused on how many people he did this to... probably just to tide everyone over until the Shamans were elected... I however didn't want to become Shaman just because I knew Liu-Bei. in real life... but, as I believe he stated: "The first group of Shamans will be appointed by myself. The next will be voted upon by the people of Clan Shu." So, a week had come to pass, and the date of the 'appointments' had come.
These appointments turned out to be 'elections'. So, of course, everyone was there: Liu-Bei., Zhang-Fei., Zhao-Yun., Sun-Ice., Pang-Tong., Taishi-Ci., GoodGuy, xXSolarisXx, Wei-Yan., Meng_Huo, and myself. A very suprising thing happened to me at this time. I was the first to be elected Shaman. Following was Zhang-Fei., Zhao-Yun., Sun-Ice., and xXSolarisXx. As can be guessed, we made up the ultimate Dynasty Warriors Fighting force. It seems that the clan had started a Dynasty Warriors frenzy on B.net, as people just started pouring into our clan. Unfortunetly... even with all this splendour and good fortune, there of course was the first leaf to fall for Clan Shu...
The elections did not go without a hitch. Taishi-Ci., one of the people and heavy contributors of Clan Shu felt cheated and robbed of his title as "Clan Recruiter". He began nuts-talking Liu-Bei. for lying to him, and other such things. But, now, let's go through a view from what I understand on both sides:
Taishi-Ci. was promised the position of "Clan Recruiter" for having recruited many people for our clan. And, in that way, he has a right to be angry. However... His probation wasn't over yet. Even then, he still would nuts-talk Liu-Bei., and it began to tumble for here on Taishi-Ci. Liu-Bei., once thinking rather highly of Taishi-Ci., became disgusted with him at this extreme reaction. ...He then took an extreme reaction defending his point that Taishi-Ci. was still on his probation at the time, but now... He wasn't so sure he should be made Shaman. He began dismissing Taishi-Ci. on the phone with me as a child who could be "2, or 8 or something like that".
You all know my personality... I prefer to give everyone a chance. I'm leniant and soft-hearted in that way, not to mention that I heavily disliked (and still do) having friends hate each other, in something that is so good (I'd like to emphasize this point with everyone in Clan YTR). At this point, I was debating with my fellow Shamans if I should give up my Shaman position just so that Taishi-Ci. could have his position and all the fighting would be over with. Zhao-Yun. reasoned, "I understand how your going about this, but it seems that Taishi-Ci. might not be as good as you believe. If your trust is misplaced, he may turn on Clan Shu with his new powers." (This is something that I believe he said something similar to). Seeing the sense in this, but refusing to fully accept that Taishi-Ci. might actually harm the clan, I talked with both Liu-Bei. and Taishi-Ci. on this matter.
Taishi-Ci.'s Response (or hopefully something closer to it): "I no longer care about becoming a Shaman in Clan Shu. F$#! Liu-Bei., he's a F%$#ing liar. Planning on making a Clan of my own. You know how good I am at recruiting people."
Liu-Bei.'s Response (or hopefully something closer to it): "F@#$ Taishi, he's a F@%@ing child is what he is. Don't give up your position for this guy, he's a F#!#ing retard! He's a child. He makes it sound like he's 2. He was on probation, and we tried to reason with him- You saw that!- But he's still too F%$#ing stubborn."
On a Saturday night, the stress was really starting to pile in on me. I really didn't want Taishi-Ci. to leave, but he wanted to leave, and Liu-Bei. wanted him to leave. I was alone, talking with him in the channel, or some private channel, trying to convince his already-set-mind from leaving. Instead, Taishi-Ci. was diverting the conversation onto what name he should name his new Clan. That's when Liu-Bei. called me and asked what channel I was in. I didn't (and still don't) lie too much back in the day, so I went ahead and told him. Liu-Bei. started wailing out on him, and Taishi-Ci. countered. There was a blow-out of insults at each other, and all the while, Taishi-Ci. went on to asking me what to name his new clan. I didn't want to answer, because that would indeed insure that he would leave. So I started doing something that was induced by very heavy-stress: Spouting sayings, quotes, and crap like that. Both were starting to get pissed off at me instead, but they were still at it. They were both the cause of heavy amounts of stress on me, so I removed myself to the channel "The Void" and started saying quotes there at a very rapid rate. Thirty minutes passed, and Liu-Bei. finally told me to come back, just as long as I would shut up on the quotes. It pissed the hell out of both of them. Both were finally calmed and at least decided to be on neutral sides with each other. Feeling more relieved, I started saying somethings I now regret, to help lighten the mood. The mood was lightened, but the damage was done. Taishi-Ci. wouldn't be staying much longer with Clan Shu..

The Chronicles of Shu
Chapter 3
"The Tiger Shadow Over the Cherry Blossoms"
Unfortunetly, I was not too active in this chapter, so, I must rely heavily on Liu-Bei.'s words for this:
A week had passed since the argument occured. Taishi-Ci., fulfilling his promise, left Clan Shu, taking some members with him. Taking the name of Sun-Jian., as well as some of those members, Clan Wuu was born. Probably still stung with rage at the 'lies' and deceit, he attempted to wage battle against Clan Shu.
These 'battles' were fruitless, under our still-rapidly growing numbers. The skill of our warriors were (and... from present-day proof, still are) unmatched. That being said, Taishi-Ci. wasn't much of a Dynasty Warrior player. He was a great recruiter, but, his skills on the battlefield were lacking. After so many battles and all of them lost, Sun-Jian. accepted defeat and peace was forged between him and Liu-Bei. The Tiger had been defeated. Perhaps Clan Wuu became the unofficial branch of Clan Shu, but to this point, I am uncertain as ties between Liu-Bei. and Taishi-Ci. were never that close. Sadly... The Tiger was the least of our problems. The time of the Burning Era was about to begin...

Chronicles of Shu
Chapter 4
"Harbringer of Shadows"
As you may recall in Chapter 1, LoM-Melkor was the good fellow who sheltered Liu-Bei. and his forces so that he could create Clan Shu. Melkor visited our clan very often in this time of our ever-growing ranks. He was playful, could laugh, and was generally good-spirited. Clan Shu was prosperous, and we welcomed one of our Founding Fathers with zeal.
Of the ones who really got to know him well would include Wei-Yan., xXSolarisXx, and myself who were the ones, especially who got to knowing everyone, and hearing all vantage points for the most part. The case with Taishi-Ci. is a good example, as Wei-Yan. showed. We were determined, as a Clan to keep our Clan alive, growing, and of course to stronger.
However... there was a scale there, a very fragile scale. On the highest point, it represents our strength, loyalty, and members. On the lower part is of course, the exact opposite, meaning civil wars, strife, anger, and a Clan that could be on the verge of dying. Liu-Bei., Zhao-Yun., and everyone else were the weights that held down the negative outcome. Our resolve was solid and heavy. That was of course, before ShinraWarrior showed up. He was a pebble that was thrown to nudge the scale on the positive sidedown. A mountain slide followed him.
I had just come online, and found LoM-Melkor (using the sn of Jewed) cursing at ShinraWarrior. Lets give a little profile on Shinra...
ShinraWarrior: A suck-up. Very polite, to the point of nauesation. He seemed like a cool guy, but... wasn't too fond of him in general, really (I hope I have this down right. Wei-Yan., again, feel free to comment on this chapter or any other chapter on details that I forgot to mention). His skills sucked, but figured he would become better. He was about a week old to the clan when this incident happened...
From what is understood, on Jewed's side of the story, Shinra was cussing out a Real Life friend of Jewed's, known to us as CheerChick. She was of course, insulted, and went offline. Jewed, still online, was cussing out Shinra who also went offline to escape, or something... (I forget how this all happened in sequence, so, accuracy may be a problem...). After hearing this, I went off to explain what was happening to the others (Wei-Yan., Zhao-Yun., xXSolarisXx), but they already knew about it. Something had to be done. When Shinra was confronted, he denied this, saying he was being framed, or just being picked on or something. As usual, anger turned to pity, which in then turned to a once-more torn-apart Guan. Unfortunetly, Shinra was probably lying... And well all accepted that as a possibility.
Everyone shunned ShinraWarrior, for the most part, and he turned to me. I still didn't like him, so I gave him mono-syllibiliac answers. I couldn't however, bring myself to completly shun him... and with Jewed's rage growing, it was just getting harder to not feel torn.
Going back... when the incident was still just fresh, or perhaps, on the very day that the Shinra incident occured, Jewed demanded that ShinraWarrior be removed from Clan Shu A.S.A.P. Liu-Bei. didn't really like being ordered around by Jewed, and began assuming that Jewed was just starting up trouble. We had many talks on the phone, but his thoughts were firm and could not be moved. Relations between him and Jewed began to become tense...
Due to so much conviction and hatred that was directed to himself, he rejoined Clan Shu, after leaving it as ShinraWarrior under a new sn of ShuGeneral. His secret of course was blown out of the water, and he was once again the main point of Clan Shu's persecution.
d**n him, ShinraWarrior! He began a strife that destroyed a part of Clan Shu... forever. Much pain, exasperation, and suffering was brought around when he came. Though not directly, he can be known as the man who destroyed Clan Shu. The things that were lost, the spirit that was broken... That will have to wait, unfortunetly... for Chapter 5. Until then...
I am Guan_Yu_of_Shu. LONG LIVE CLAN SHU!
