Interesting. Never really competed in a tournament before. This should be interesting Thought Jyo as he walked into what would be his battleground for his first fight in the tournament. He was curious as to how his opponet would fight.
Jyo dressed specially for the tourny. He wore a martial arts gi. It was black and he wore no belt. Jyo never was part of any martial arts school and had no ranking in any officail capacity. The gi hung slightly loos and had no sleeves. His long hair was completely brushed back. It was all smooth a tied back with no strands loose. He was reconizable but actually being dressed for the tourny seemed a little interesting in contrast to the loose blue suit he was so often seen in.

Having left Aureus to his own ring, Chi proceded to her arena. Jyo, she wasn't too familiar with the name or the person, but at 259, everyone was vaguely familiar. Black shorts with a pink stripe, pink and white tank with a black sports bra, and black and white pumas were her outfit of choice, but is seemed as if Jyo had taken a more traditional uniform. Modern traditional? He wasn't wearing a belt...anyway, not important. Stepping into the ring, the dark haired girl gave him a respectful half-bow, her ponytail falling over her shoulder.
"I'm Chi. And if you're Jyo, then I guess we're opponents. Good luck to you." She clenched and unclenched her fists in a readying sort of way, the leather strained over her knuckles.

Jyo smiled and returned the bow. "It's a pleasure Chi. I've heard a few things about you. I am looking forward this this. I hear you would be a good challenege." he said with a small smile then stood in a completely netral position but something in his body language made it clear he was ready for battle. "Thank you for the wish for luck. I wish the same for you as well." he said and then raised his right hand motioning for her to come at him. if she didn't move he would take the first move.

A curious quirk of an eyebrow followed his speach, what exactly had he heard? There were a few things she was hoping wasn't getting around. Another distraction...Focus, Chihiro. She could tell by the way he stood that he was confident, and obviously strong. She would need to fight her best if she had any chance of winning.
It looked as if he wasn't going to move first, and she wasn't going to wait to let him. She was standing about three stride lengths from him, and she slid her left foot back a bit to fall into a normal stance, her hands clenching in loose fists. One, her left foot moved forward, and she clenched her left fist. Two, right foot this time, and she swiveled her torso, putting her left shoulder forward as she pulled her left fist back..she was going in for a punch, right? No...Three, at the last minute, she dropped onto her left hand (that had been a fist), bending her left knee and bringing her right leg into a low kick at his knees.

And there she goes. Good steady form. She knows what she's doing. Punch comeing in. No He thought his thought patter fast enough to boggle most. He jumped up over the kick and his right leg shot downwards to hit the incoming leg as it passed where his leg would have been. This was aimed to damage the leg enough to slow her down a bit. He also put some backwards momentum into his jump which would lessen the blow slightly. He landed and gave a soft smile. He would let her coem in again and if she didn't he'd go after her. Jyo liked going on defense. It wasn't to play around with people. he loved to observe them. See how they moved. he had learned alot about fighting from people who had never even hit him simply because the moves they used were commendable and Jyo learned to use them correctly. Such was his key to his devastating form of fighting. He used everything he found to be effective.

Shit.. Chi cursed inwardly, cringing as his foot came in contact with her leg. She faltered, falling forward onto her hands as her balance was shocked, but with her momentum she was able to continue her arc, using her leg to spin the rest of the way around to face him again, left leg in a crouching position and right leg extended to her right, resting on her hands for balance. Smart, and fast to be able to counter a sneaky move like that. She would have to do better next time. She stretched her right leg, trying to dull the throbbing from his counter. She could go at him again and risk the same thing happening, or she could wait and let him make his own move. Best to see what she was up against, ni?

So she wants me to move. Glad to oblige He thought dashing in quickly. She could probably track him but to most jyo was little more than a blur He reared his left arm back as if to punch. It was drawn back perfectly but while still drawn he let himself fall back having the left arm shoot out planting it on the ground as his left leg came up aimed at her gut. Jyo was using his longs legs reach to keep Chi at bay for this attack. After all that was another strength of his. His kicks made it hard to even reach him in a fight.

He came at her, and fast. Faster than she had seen in an opponent before. Chocolte hues darted to his arm that was pulling back for a punch, but she was wary because she knew he could be deceiving. She had just done the same thing. She was about to twist her torso to the right to evade his punch when something caught her eye. He was falling backward. Shit, his legs, and sure enough his right leg flew at her. Too fast for her to manipulate like she normally would, but enough for her to drop back on her own hands like a crab. Thank you gravity. As she did this, she twisted her body to the right, kicking her left foot out at his own left foot as his right finished its swing over her.

Jyo felt a hit on his leg and grinned. Good. One who won't fall for her own tricks. I've met too many of those lately. He thought. It wasnt as though the blow didn't hurt a bit. But he had taken hits so much worse he was able to continue the swing and pivot on his hand letting his feet get under him and stood strait. He would face Chi and wait for her to get up. He wasn't going to give her any breaks but he also wouldn't hit her while she was in such a position. Nor would he do it to anyone else in this tournament. He had his sense of honor and wanted to win this fair and square.

Chihiro pulled her leg back, leaping back upright with her right leg forward and her left leg back a bit. Her right leg still tingled a bit so she though it better to lead with her right instead of strike with it should she have to. Now she had to see what these gloves could do. In a flash she had moved forward, faking a right to his face, her fist stopping just before it brushed his nose before she sent a uppercut directly into his stomach, just below his ribcage. It was blunt and aggressive, but she was relying on her speed and the natural human instinct of flinching to do the job for her. Her stance had widened at her feet as she did so, solidifying her balance for whatever he may try to throw back at her.

Jyo gave a brief smile seeinf the punch come in reading the movment. Not it's not a real one He thought seeing the way it came it. Meaning only one thing. it was a distraction. He noticed movement from her other hand. His right hand shot out grabbing her by the wrist as the hit came in and he stepped to his left pulling her arm outwards as his right knee came in at he exposed ribs. He let go when the knee would hit and pushed off with his left leg landing a bit further away. "Impressive." He said.

Luckily with her stance, she didn't completely fall over when Jyo sent his knee into her ribs. Chi doubled over though, coughing as the wind was knocked out of her. "Thanks," She replied, breathing heavily, "You're not too bad yourself." She stood back upright, the only evidence showing that she showed the slightest bit of pain could be found in her eyes, which were narrowed slightly. Focus, Chihiro. She told herself, sliding her left foot back again, clenching and unclenching her fists. You can do this, let him come after you.

Jyo gave a nod in acknowladgement and then was dashing at her again. He made sure it was his left side facing her this time. His legs crossing as he moved in the grapevine run alternating which leg crossed the other with each sted. When he was in his own kicking distance his right leg had been in the lead so his left was the one that shot out much like the way a snake would strike as it came out and went back in qithing a second. He aimed it for Chi's gut. The purpose of crossing the legs was to make it so Jyo could get off a quick kick yet have full power behind it from the way his muscles were tensed up. He was showing what brought him to the level he was at. His ability to go from defense and counters to offense without any difficulty.

Chi's focus was drawn to the fancy footwork of her opponent, but she broke from it in time to see him rearing his left leg to send a kick her way. She leaned back, increasing the distance between her stomach and his foot, her right hand shooting up and across her body to push his foot to the left, using his own momentum against him so that his kick would expire somewhere to the left of her. Then, in bring her left fist up, she leaned back upright, using, her natural speed, and the icreased strength in her gloves to send a punch directly into his face.
