His eyes didn't just flicker open like in most fo the movies where the injured wake up. No, Sevren's eyes snapped out, wide and alive. AS if he had been woken from a deep sleep by an explosion. It wasn't his intention to wake this way, but a sudden explosion of pain had caused him to jolt himself into a sitting position. He quickly realized that was the wrong thing to do, as the pain increased and Sevren groaned. Eyes closing for a second, he layed back down, his head fitting into the little indent which had been created as he lay in the infirmary bed.
He barely remembered what happened. Most of it was just random images, many blank spots seemed to be present. But he was damn sure of one thing. He had lost. He had lost a fight, and his pride had been damaged in a way. He had allowed himself to give up.. More so his limited body had forced him to. He swore under his breath as his eyes flicked open this time, and those emerald orbs gazed about. He would look toward his feet, and realize the blanket which had covered his body had slipped off. He was still wearing pants, so he gave a small sigh of relief. But his torso was bare. At least some parts were. Most of it was bandaged up.
He could understand why, after all, he had taken such a horrible beating. He was glad that at least his conditioning had allowed him to last as long as he did. If it had not been for keeping himself healthy, and pushing himself whenever he felt he needed to keep going with training of some sort, he wouldn't have lasted after that irst blow he had taken.
Thinking of such things, his mind turned to his opponent. The one who he had been thoroughly humiliated by. The giant had come, and Sevren had definitely felt what he could dish out- And that probably wasn't even the best he could do. No matter how much Sevren tried to hate the teacher who had done this to him, he couldn't. All he felt toward the beast he had fought was respect. He had bested him in every field of combat. And he had won fair and square. It wasn't his fault Sevren was so weak after all. It was his own. And from this point on, he would work hard to become as good as the one who had destroyed him so.
And thats when he realized he wasn't alone. He sensed himself being watched. His eyes narrowed slightly as they shot around the rather dark and shady room. His head still hurt, and straining his eyes only seemed to worsen the pain. His body throbbed, and he closed them quickly. His lips moving, his weakened voice sounding out.
"Who's there..?"
