Of all the places in the world, racism happens to be at its worse in Africa. In most part of Africa there is various strife and civil warring that leaves a huge number of casualties on all sides of the battlefield. Over the centuries there have been plenty of conflicts between the various African tribes and with the settlers/traders from Europe. Today, racism is nothing new. Only difference today then in the past is the increase of bloodshed and genocide.
Civil war is constant through many nations of Africa just like there is going on within Iraq since United States troops had intervened. But before civil war possibly breaks out in Iraq, civil war has been going on in Africa for many centuries. You have a bunch of tribes trying to slaughter each other in mass genocide in parts of the world like Sudan. The crisis in Sudan is one of the biggest current events in the world today. There is "racism" brewing in Africa on all sorts of levels. Each level being just as bloody as another level.
There have been numerous movies revolving around the various conflicts brewing within the continent of Africa.
One example on racism by skin color is the movie starring James Earl Jones called "Cry, the Beloved Country." Though this movie isn't bloody, there is a lot in the movie to bring to light racism associated by skin color. Jones plays a reverend named Stephen Kumalo who travels all the way down to Johannesburg, South Africa to see his son who is in prison and is about to be executed by hanging for killing a white man. All the assailants were Black. There was a huge amount of prejudice between the Blacks and the Whites. Kumalo tries to deal with the prejudices while coping with his son murdering a person and impregnating a girl that he hasn't married.
On racism by tribe and religious association, one should take a look at both movies: "Tears of the Sun" with Bruce Willis and "Blood Diamond" with Leonardo di Caprio. There's a lot of killing and bloodshed protrayed in both movies. The main antogonists of both movies are rebel leaders that preach about freedom yet slaughter masses of people. If not slaughter, they chop off a limb or two.
Both films are equally powerful and do an excelling job of portraying racism in Africa. Of all parts of the world, racism in Africa happens to the bloodiest with the death toll being in at least the hundreds of thousands. Another good example of the portrayal is the movie "Hotel Rwanda" starring Don Cheadle. The story portrays the conflict between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes in Rwanda, Africa in 1994. The radical Hutus were out to wipe out the Tutsi in a mass genocide. Don Cheadle who plays a Hutu hotel manager throws all prejudices aside and decides to shelter the Tutsi children in the hotel.
These movies are excellent examples and portrayals of the racism that is present in Africa. The racism in Africa has led to mass rioting, mass genocide, and various crimes against humanity. In Africa you have it all: racism by skin color with the Blacks against the White farmers, racism by tribal affiliation, racism by religious affiliation, etc. And the bloodshed caused by the racism is fueled by conflict diamonds, religious grudges, and all sorts of other grudges. Africa is in need of serious repairs if the continent ever wants to survive in the future.
Historically in the past, the Africans instigated slavery. Tribes would capture people from other tribes and sell them off to the Europeans and taken to the Americas into a life of slavery. Liberia was a piece of Africa bought by the abolitionists. But many Africans were too scared to go back for the reason of being re-captured and forced back into slavery.
In a nutshell, just about all the bloody conflicts in Africa stems from racism.
