He would lean back against the wall looking over at her, his green eyes examining everything about her from the outfit she now wore to her green eyes that seemed to sparkle in the lighting of the room. The stark whiteness of the room made her eyes more brilliant then he had noticed before and he couldn't help but smile. He always did like green eyes after all. It was a shame she didn't have red hair since that would have closed the deal for him right then and there.
"Looks like that is the best option unless you wanted to sit in silence." He said with a small chuckle. It was obvious he would have to start the conversation since she didn't seem very talky with him. Thankfully he liked to think he was quite good with people and it wouldn't be too much of a hassle to start up something. He would think to himself for a moment before deciding to be bold. Take her off guard and go for a question she wouldn't expect right off the bat.
"You single?" He would ask with a cocky grin that seemed to say he say a joke that no one else say yet, one that promised to be very funny though when it was seen. He looked more... impish then threatening right now, but then again he didn't want to scare her.

"Looks like that is the best option unless you wanted to sit in silence."
Emily chuckled. She smiled a bit as he seemed to be willing to talk. Well, it was always good to know more people... maybe develop her social skills more. "Hehheheh."
"You single?" He'd ask with a grin at her. Wait, what was this guy thinking?
o__o
"I am, I guess." she said, scratching her temple lightly with a finger as she thought about it. "Why do you ask?"
Well, she had to know just why this information was of interest to him -- otherwise, she'd never know.

Well she didn't outright say she had someone which was good since a lot of girls did that if they were not interested. That meant he had a shot. Which was good news. Now for those faithful readers and mind readers out there Mathew was not in love nor was he in lust... well maybe a little lust. But he was in a new place and as a good looking teenage boy he thought it would be appropriate to maybe have a girlfriend, someone he could count on. Someone to hang on his arm and just have fun with.
"Go out with me." He would say. Not the normal would you go out with me. He would say it just assuming she would say yes. And why not? He was good looking, strong as she knew, smart, funny, and he knew how to treat a girl well. Of course she didn't know that about him but he liked to think that the confidence he carried with him spoke a lot about his character.

"Go out with me."
Emily blinked.
Go out with him... how?
The guy who posted above should've known better; Emily is and and will always be dense as heck. "Wait, go out with you?"
She blinked twice.
...
"The doors are closed, so ... I guess we're stuck here? Can't go out just yet.... um..." She frowned, totally not getting it.

Ok she was obviously playing dumb. Doing one of those stupid mind games that girls did when they felt like being bitches or something like that. He had seen this before and because of that he was prepared to deal with her playing dumb for now. After all if she can do medical stuff then she wasn't an idiot so it had to be an act.
"No, not what I meant. I mean go out with me. Like a date. You know dinner, movie, boyfriend, girlfriend. After we get out of here. I want you to go out with me." He would say keeping a cool tone about his voice as if explaining what going out was happened everyday.
Once he was done explaining himself he would continue to sit there watching her reaction and waiting for her answer. He assumed that since he just spelled it out for her that he could get an answer now.

"No, not what I meant. I mean go out with me. Like a date."
Emily blushed, "OH!" She looked away, quite embarrassed for not getting it earlier. God, was she slow.
"You know dinner, movie, boyfriend, girlfriend. After we get out of here. I want you to go out with me."
...
That would've been alright... but... boyfriend-girlfriend?
Being in such a relationship meant something big to Emily. It wasn't just something that could come out of the blue and bam.
...
And they've just known each other for a day at least.
...
Her heart ached and she frowned. Her hair hid her face as she looked down... a little depressed, "I'm sorry." she began, "I... kind of like someone else."
...
She wasn't depressed because she was bound by her feelings to a guy and she can't take up his offer, but... her feelings were unanswered, unrequited...
... it probably meant nothing, but she held on to her feelings for now. It was something to contemplate about being far from Unfettered.
She sighed; just how is he right now?

Mathew felt a good amount of shock when she said no and the reason was she liked someone else. So much shock that HE had just been turned down that it actually showed on his face! It only showed for a moment before it was wiped away in to his normal neutral, but cocky face. A smug grin and calculating eyes replaced the impish grin from before. He was back to the Mathew that he was best known as, the one that is not trying to woo a girl.
"Well thats fine." He would say in an upbeat voice before continuing one with, "Whats his name and whats he like?" He would ask trying to show her that he was interested even if she wouldn't go out with him. And he was, because he was going to find this guy and kick his ass and make him so ugly no girl will ever look at him again. No one took a girl Mathew had interest in, and while he was interested in a date with her before, having been turned down made him want her just to have her now.
Someone is going to burn when I get out of here.
He would think silently to himself.

"Well thats fine. Whats his name and whats he like?"
... For some reason, she felt like not answering for a couple of reasons: [/b] Emily shook her head violently, shaking the thought of Unfettered getting badly hurt off her mind. Though Unfettered was strong, and probably had a chance against Mathew... well, she still worried about him to a certain degree. That fight she witnessed with Leon isn't convincing... [/ul] However, ... she'd... just have to trust Mathew on this. "Um... His name?" she began, hugging her legs closer and laying her forehead on her knees. "If ... I tell you his name, would you promise me that you'll not hurt him?"Slow, but not dumb. Paranoia; a smart thing to have in the world she's in.

"Wait what?"
For the second time today shock and hurt painted Mathew's face though this time it was more calculated then not. Her asking him to promise not to hurt him was just offensive to anyone really, especially considering their relationship thus far.
"Wow.... You know what never mind. I try and save you from these guys, I am offering to help bust you out no matter what it takes. And you think I am such a bad person that I would go hunt some guy down because you like him? Have I really shown myself to be that bad of a guy? Just... whatever."
He would say as he got up from his spot in the corner and moved to the door turning his back to her as he looked out the bars. He wanted to guilt her and guilt her bad. After all he had been nothing but good to her so far and she treats him like some scumbag.
Even though with his back turned to her so she couldn't see his face he kept it up in case he found the need to turn around and speak to her again. And if she decided to end it there then he would just not talk to her. He didn't need her to find out who it was anyways when they got out he would just have to see her walking with him, talking with him, or whatever and boom. This was just a civil way to do it.

And you think I am such a bad person that I would go hunt some guy down because you like him? Have I really shown myself to be that bad of a guy? Just... whatever."
'Actually, you kind of do. ' she told herself mentally, sighing. Well, what now? give in and just let the damn dam go bam and let shit flow or just ... play defensive?
Well, either way he'd know...
A sigh. This is going to be so troublesome, the drama. She just plain hoped that what she decided to do wouldn't lead to anything destructive. It was ok to have Mathew angry at her; after all it's just herself, but... meh... This is beginning to become more complicated by the second!
... and his reaction didn't impress her at all. He was probably playing the guilt card....? Could be. Emily WAS a graphic novelist after all, these kind of stuff happens quite often in Shoujo manga.
She gripped her nails firmly against the skin they brushed against, waking her up from her paranoid thoughts. "... His name is "Unfettered"." she started, "It's a rather ... weird name but... he's been a good friend of mine for some time and ... I feel somewhat needed around him; affirmed of my capabilities because he trusted me with something. I find him quite mysterious and ambitious -- wanting change around him; he is just so determined about it that I want to be a part of what he wants to do... even though I think my feelings towards him are... pathetically unrequited."
...
A smile, she heard that line from Unfettered too. Heh, how life plays out is such a crazy mystery.
"... and he has a... cute... german accent. Heh..." she said, chuckling quietly to herself. Cute. For the lack of better word.
... and she totally avoided answering the guilt trip; what, was it so bad asking someone to promise that?
If someone has the capability to do something, and they know it... what stops them to do it anyway?
Mathew was capable, and he most likely knows that himself. He can and will beat up whoever he wanted -- including the reason why Emily rejected him.
Pride was the thing right now, on Mathew's part.

Mathew mentally smiled to himself when he got the information he needed. He got a name. That was all he needed from her to find him. He could have found him otherwise but this was so much easier. But he wasn't done yet. You can't just end an act because you got what you wanted. Besides he always enjoyed this kind of stuff.
"You didn't answer my question." He would say dully as he continued to look out of the bars to the white hallway. He refused to budge and look at her for now and at this point it didn't matter what she thought of the act he had what he wanted.
"Am I a bad person in your mind?" He would ask again before following up with another question. "Because, if I am then why did you approach me and want to treat me. I mean you didn't hunt down Leon after the fight." He would say in a dull and sad tone of voice.
He didn't get this idea from manga or anything of the sort. He didn't read that crap. Hell he didn't even watch Cartoons, not since he was five at least. This was all based on real life, and some acting experience he has had in the past. After all he was a lead in the school play and took some drama. That with years of manipulation left him in a good spot when it came to emotions, he could even cry when he wanted too.

Though she pathetically got the experience from manga, it was still something.
"Am I a bad person in your mind? Because, if I am then why did you approach me and want to treat me. I mean you didn't hunt down Leon after the fight."
"I'm sorry if I offended you by acknowledging the fact that you have the capability to beat up whoever shakes your interest." she frankly told him, it was now or never... and besides... she's got nothing worth keeping right now. However, he could just channel his frustration towards Unfettered and ... that wouldn't be good at all.
A sigh came before she answered, "I don't think you are a bad person -- I just think you are capable of doing something. I approached you because I find your abilities interesting to learn from... one day be just as strong as you."
'If you can beat up Leon like that to render him unconcious, then surely you can do it to Unfettered with barely any problem at all.'
She stopped there. Emily was being unusually frank, and somehow... felt guilty. Somewhat; to an extent.
Damn drama. But yeah, Emily laid out her ultimate motive in befriending Mathew -- Mathew gave her a goal. A goal as to just how powerful she wanted to be.
Somehow put on a pedestal as an idol she might not worship, but revere and look up to.

"And there it is." He would say gloomily as he slowly turned around looking down at his feet with a sigh as he leaned against the door. All expression of his former cocky self was gone. What stood in front of Emily now was the carefully crafted emo Mathew that he worked on back in New York. Just like happy go lucky Mathew this was just an act calculated to catch people off guard so that he could use them, and thats what he did. He used everyone all the time, friend, enemy, girls, and boys. It didn't matter as long as he reached the goal.
"You are not the first. And I am sure you won't be the last. I am strong, I had to be strong. Abusive house, violent school, you have to fight to live. And because I am strong people want to use me. They not only want to use me but they don't even see me as Human. I mean, I have the ability to rape you right now. Do you think I will? I mean we are alone, Leon is out cold, and I am stronger. I could do it easily. And yet I am not. What does that say?"
He would ask as he slowly looked up at her letting his green eyes meet hers. His face just looked heartbroken and his eyes were starting to water up thanks to memories of that one fateful night in Central Park, the first and only time he had ever been forced to kill. He still had nightmares about that to this day.
"Is that really all you see in me? Is violence? Someone to help you be strong?" He would ask slowly just barely meeting her gaze.

"I didn't know you well enough to know all of those when I asked you." His reasons were warranted. But still, Emily barely knew Mathew enough to even understand him -- this revelation led her to one conclusion: He was just like her.
"Is that really all you see in me? Is violence? Someone to help you be strong?"
Emily looked at him, and shook her head. "No. I see you as someone I can look up to. A goal for how strong I want to be for myself regardless if you help me or not."
She sighed, "I'm a coward, I must admit. I'm afraid of what people can do; of what I can do. Like you I've been subject to many abuses. Heck, of the three families I've been to... two of them almost killed me and one of them almost sold me to prostitution, then the one family that took me in and loved me was ganged up and murdered right in front of my eyes. You're just as human as me, I know. I barely know how to talk without screwing up and hurting another's feelings or my own. Despite similarities, you became strong -- I didn't. Not a bit."
"...And because of that... I became afraid. Maybe not of what you can do to me, but maybe of what you're capable to do to... him." Emily began to shake lightly, her tone beginning to shed off her somewhat open usual happiness to reveal someone deprived of a past worth remembering. To be given a taste of something wonderful and then deprived of it like it was just candy.
"I'm sorry if I was insensitive. I guess I just don't know what questions are proper and not."

He listened to her story and it just reminded him of everyone he had ever met. The details were diffrent but everyone seemed to have the same life, himself included. Shitty family life, shitty school, only difference with him seemed to be his family is still alive. Still it was sad and he did feel bad for her... kind of. But he would let her off the hook for now, and it seemed her was off the hook too which was perfect.
"Look, it's cool. I understand, and I am sorry you had a shitty life. Join the club I guess." He would say with a small laugh as he slowly walked over to her making sure he didn't make any threatening moves or anything like that.
"Mind if I sit down next to you?" He would ask as he stood by her mattress since once again Leon was on his. "If not I can always go back to the corner." He would offer with a small weak smile.
