Breathe in.
I relax.
Breathe out.
I sigh.
Breathe in.
I relax.
Breathe out.
I sigh.
Breathe in....
.....
I STIFLE A SCREAM. >________________O
5 hours, or at least, it FELT like it was 5 hours. Delilah had an IMPOSSIBLE TEMPER. Everytime there was a move that required thinking too far ahead, Delilah would fool Arim to looking the other way, then toss the board across the field. And that was beginning to get on her nerves, after the 10th time in a row.
She needed to take Delilah to some Anger Management courses.... And Rem to ADAAC while she was at it, or PETA.... one or the other.
But this was Arim's favourite glass chessboard!
FLIP!!
Over her head again.
>_________________________O;;;;;;;;
"DELILAH!!" She wailed, running over to her glass chessboard now laying with one corner of the library, wedged between two books in the shelf. The girl clasped her hands around the board and tugged it.
No avail.
And again.
No dice.
She placed her feet firmly on the side of the shelf, used her body weight to finally free the board from it's literary prison. Only to fall onto the ground with the chess board held gloriously above her head.
x3333~!!
With... another knick in the top of it.
....
=____________=
"LALA! We're not using this board anymore!!" she placed the board gingerly on the floor and trotted over to Delilah, her hands on her hips. "No no... we need something... sturdy... strong enough to withstand the might of your temper...". Perhaps a board made of cast iron? ...Then again, she'd probably use it as a weapon, and Arim could not afford to pay for damages in the library.
Mainly a contractor.
For walls.
COLLAPSED WALLS.
...
Wait.
THAT'S IT! The girl snapped her fingers and skipped over to her tote-bag, pulling out a blank sheet of loose leaf. The girl took out a pen and drew several lines along the sheet, crossing each other. Pulling out a handful of small-change, the girl wrote the first letters for their respective pieces on them.
Perfect!
"Full proof!" The girl chimed, placing it on the table. This time, the library (and her property) would remain unharmed. The wrath of Delilah could do no more... for now. You could practically see steam shooting out of her nostrils. Gulp. Sitting back down, the girl arranged the change on the pieces.
"The penny is mine, it is my King. Savvy? The dime is yours" the girl placed her own king close to her, and Delilah's close to herself.
Delilah's Bishop.
Delilah's King.
Delilah's Knight.
Arim's Bishop.
Arim's Pawn.
Arim's King.
Arim looked up intently at Delilah and smiled, "Only one move is needed to beat this puzzle, and it is yours. There is only one, and no other. I cannot counter it in any way, and I am completely defenseless. Which move is it?". The girl folded her arms down on the desk and stared at Delilah, waiting for a move.
I relax.
