Personality:
Yan is a constantly happy girl. She isn't a very aggressive person, and will never pick fights. When put in a bad mood, she often just sulks. It's only when provoked or when people don't listen to her when she's trying to say something important, that she gets angry. She gets down right scary when serious. After a fight has broken out between her and another, she'll fight with all she has, and accept loss gracefully if she goes down. Mostly though, she only fights to protect herself.
She's not incredibely active, and she takes her sweet time with whatever she does, but is never without something to do. If she is, she'll find something to do, or something to practise, or someone to talk to. She's very curious, though she may not show it.
Though she's shy upon the first few meetings with people, she's respectful to everyone she meets, but very weary of everyone until they've proven themselves to be very trustworthy in her eyes. Because she's weary, most people pass her off as a quiet person, when in reality she's talkative, but only to those she likes.
She can get along with others moderately well, but will only show her more friendly and relaxed side to her friends. Only known to those that do get close to her though, she has a very mature side of her that shows once in a while. She's definitely a restless person, and often doesn't sleep 'til late. One of her bad points is that when she does things, she often gets caught up in the moment, and forgets her original intention.
When socially interacting with others, she's polite and usually with a smile, but tends to get nervous at times. She's usually quiet in conversation or just generally, until she's more relaxed or curious about something. Her personality changes when she's not happy or in serious mode, seeming very indifferent and blunt. But she hides that part of her as best she can, not wanting others to have a bad opinion of her. Her mind holds her more indifferent side, along with the mature side to balance out her actions.
She's a gentle person, and sensitive of her own feelings as well as others, and tries not to hurt their feelings while hiding her pain. She's been said to think too much about the smallest things, and worries about other people worrying about her.
Mentality:
Sane.
Ideal:
To live in a peaceful world.
Belief:
Christianity
Physical Information
Build:
The sum it all up, Petite. She's a small person with very few features that make her noticeable. Lack of visible muscles and abs give her a weak and frail appearance.
Head: She has long, dark brown hair that goes past her shoulders, down to mid back when its not tied up. Her face is the only real part of her that people would bother getting a second look at. Yan has slightly pale skin with a cute look and a sweet smile.
Torso: If cleaning can be considered a real exercise, Yan exercises every single day, resulting in a slim and fit body. She doesn't feel the need to excessively grow muscles, as she doesn't go around picking fights.
Arms: Yan's arms are as in proportion as everyone else around her height. She isn't extremely pale, but not dark either. Cause of skin colour is most likely due to the little time she spends outdoors. Her arms are skinny, but definitely not weak. Since she's done a lot of housework and such since she was at a young age, they're the part of her body that holds the most strength.
Legs: Like her arms, her legs aren't stubby, and just right for a person her size. Her legs are a little more pale than her arms, but it's hardly noticeable. Unfortunately, Yan's legs aren't as strong as her arms, but she's moderately fast.
Apparel Information
Yan isn't very particular with what she wears as long as it's comfortable, and presentable. She doesn't often feel the need to really dress up for anything, but prefers something easy to move around in. She will refuse any revealing clothing unless there is no option.
Fighting Information
Fighting Style:
Free Style Para Para
Years Practiced:
2
Description of style:
While never used in combat, Yan's style of fighting is a combination between free style and para para dancing. Her attacks are made mostly with her arms, but she will move around more than a usual para para routine. More than anything, she dodges more than she attacks, and if there are objects that can be thrown, that works for her too.
History Information
History:
There was once a Japanese girl by the name of 'Hana Shirasaki', who lived in China after moving over from Japan. When she started her high school years, she fell in love with an upperclassman known as 'He Zhe'. He Zhe eventually fell for her, and the two were very happy.
But Vincent Chang, He Zhe's rival was also in love with Hana, and was furious to hear of his enemy and his crush, dating. So he proposed to Hana, and refused to hear her answer unless she thought about it very carefully. Of course, she didn't want to marry him, but with her family in a financial situation after her father had passed on, and Vincent being from one of the richest families in the area, she was torn between her love for He Zhe, and the well being of her mother and younger sister.
He Zhe knew about all of this, and encouraged Hana to marry Vincent, as her family would benefit, and they wouldn't constantly have to work for money to buy a decent meal. She still couldn't decide after that. He Zhe let her know how much he would always love her, in one night, spent together. The following morning, Hana accepted Vincent's proposal.
It was nearly two months into their marriage when the couple had realized that Hana was going to have children. Vincent was very happy, but Hana had already realized the truth. The fact that she was going to have children when it was said that He Zhe was incapable of fathering children was a miracle. She kept the secret from Vincent.
On November 14th, 1993, Ya Mei was born, along with her two sisters, Yu Yue and Jia Min. Yan being the middle child, with Jia being the oldest. Vincent was disappointed that neither of the triplets was male, but he was still very glad to have healthy children. Hana was upset that the triplets would never grow up with their real father, but once again, she kept it from Vincent.
By the time the three of them were five, it was apparent that they were not identical, and they all had very different personalities. Yan had a friendly personality, Yue had a very persistent personality, and Jia had a very rebellious personality. But the three were close, and hardly left each other's side. They all did the same extracurricular studies, such as piano and language classes. As the three grew older, their father had become more and more cold towards them, and rarely talked. Hana invited He Zhe over from time to time, and he would be welcomed by the triplets, who loved him to bits. But there was still a problem in the Chang family. With three girls as the only children of their family, they would have to compete for the position as the heir of the family. And Unfortunately, neither of them seemed to want to bother with it.
When the girls were eight, Vincent had started to ignore them completely, making Hana extremely upset. Jia, Yan and Yue were all constantly studying, due to their father's orders not to have an idiot for an heir. Their mother encouraged them, no matter what happened. All of them tried hard, but they all seemed to be on an equal level. But Jia was getting increasingly angry at her father, and Yue starting to get pretty annoyed. Yan, who stuck close to her mother most of the time, was starting to understand why her father was becomming this way, by watching the people around her.
For their ninth birthday, their mother had given birth to another child. A boy. Their father immediately announced him as the heir to his fortune. While Hana was still in the hospital, Jia, who was extremely angry at this point, confronted Vincent along with Yan and Yue. But that's when Yan brought up the subject. Even with the feeling of dread in her gut, she brought up the topic she'd been suspicious about.
"You're not our father, are you. You know it too. That's why you hate us."
As angry as he was, Vincent knew she was right. He'd already figured out that they were He Zhe's children, and not his own. And Yan's sisters were in shock. After a long talk with He Zhe, He disowned the girls, and He Zhe adopted them. Hana just broke after hearing the news, and started to lose her emotions.
He Zhe, along with his children, moved to Japan, where they would stay for a while due to his business. The girls had a fun time, despite missing their mother very much. Yan spent most of her time playing games at arcades, where she learnt to play Parapara Paradise, and DDR with her new school mates. Jia had more fun just watching the dramas on TV, even though she could barely understand what was going on. And Yue? She became an otaku. But that didn't last very long, as news got out that Vincent Cheng and his wife Hana Shirasaki, had gone missing.
Their son, who was only a few months old, was the only one left. Vincent and Hana had gone missing, and nobody even had the slightest clue as to where they'd gone. Sources pointed that they may have gone to America, but nobody was certain. He Zhe took in the little boy, and made arrangements for Jia, Yan and Yue to go to different schools in America, and try find their whereabouts. He wanted to go with them, but he had to stay in Japan for his business's sake. All three of them would be staying with his old friends from high school, and the three of them agreed.
Yan was sent to California, where she was to stay with Wei lian, He Zhe's close friend. He was good to her, so she was okay with staying around. During her last years of primary education, no news of Vincent or Hana had been reported. But clues to their location had started up, right before her first year of high school. She started attending at PHS 259, in hopes of tracking down her mother, and Vincent.
