He would never dream of claiming any higher intellect than anyone; just because you think a lot doesn't mean you think the right things, or even anything useful or meaningful at all. Roland does not put much stock in superficial opinions people might form about him, and will quietly move on rather than pursue interaction with people who show no desire to interact with him on good terms.

Born to a poor family in a rural citrus-farming community near the city. His parents were divorced by his third year of life, and he lived with his mother from then on. He took a job as early as he could to help make ends meet, and understands the value of a day's honest work. It's a good thing school came so easy to him, as he would not have had long hours for homework anyway with work and all.
Mom decides to go back to college to complete her education so she can support herself better. In the meantime money would be tighter than ever, so the two talked it over and decided that she would go off to campus for school, and Roland would have to go to a high school in the city and live on his own, either in dorms at a boarding school or in available apartment space near school. The famous (or INfamous) PHS 259 seemed as good a choice as any.

Penetrating defenses, the backlash and a blast of wind from any and all from the equipped attack will leave left-over blasts of wind, capable of tearing up non-organic material (including the enviroment), and providing incredible knock-back/down ability. If, for example, "Sonic Boom" was equipped to a person's fists, that person's punches would have the sonic boom effect. Equipped on the elbows, an elbow would provide a sonic boom effect. Its all at the "wearer's" discretion. Equipped with an AOE attack that attacks all, while weak, there could be many technicalities where it could effecitively prove to be one of the strongest things---Especially if ear plugs are used in conjunction with it.
