Mental Information
Personality: Rather unusual personality-wise and it tends to change from person to person, she's rather mellow most of the time, a silent, smiling tranquility. Arim doesn't talk a lot, unless she's provoked or she feels the need to comment on something. She tends to be a bit shy at times, but she's kind and friendly. Curious to a fault, can't help but her nose where it shouldn't be very often, gets her into trouble quite a bit. Arim tends to have extensive knowledge on the most random information, especially the medical sciences, sometimes likes to bring it out of the random even though it doesn't make much sense to most. Scatterbrained and absent-minded at times, often has a tendency to get lost a lot. Arim seems to be a lot more detached and quiet. In the middle of conversation, she'll even deter to another topic, not even realizing it. Arim is much more skittish now, certain people, or things, seem to intensely scare her. Arim also has a habit of talking to herself a lot. No one is quite sure why she behaves in such a manner. She's still in self-denial that she is Asian.
Mentality: Either a blank-slate or filled with so many complex questions it drives her mad, never a healthy medium. A bit of a worry-wart and tends to run around insane possibilities like mad. She has failing faith in society and its people, so her thoughts are dragging around quite a bit for cynicism a lot. She's a person that by observation alone, it's easy to tell she thinks way too much.
Ideal: Not an individual to have many of her priorities straight, her ideals always run in awry circles.
Belief: Agnostic
Physical Information
Build: Short height compared to most people, but she has longer legs compared to her upper-body. Her skin is a tad darker than most people, because she is Korean, but it’s rather light compared to most. No muscle at all, she’s not that strong in upper-body strength or gives off any inclination she’s strong. However, her legs are a tad toned.
Head: She has an oval shaped face that is framed well with her hair, while her eyes are large and bright.
Torso: Slightly above average bust, but nothing monstrous.
Arms: Often concealed with baggy sleeves, but her hands are actually bandaged over with gloves on top of them at all times. No one really knows what her wrists/arms look like.
Legs: Not toned at all, fairly normal looking, longer than most legs.
Feet: Size 7
Apparel Information
Head Gear: Not if barettes count.
Shirts: Sweaters, hoodies, long-sleeved shirts. She prefers styles of stripes or plaid for patterns, rarely solids. Colour focuses usually on grays, navy or maroon.
Pants: Usually capris or shorts. Jeans if it gets too cold for her liking.
Shoes: Flats. Always flats.
Misc: She wears a long necklace on a thin chain with a small pendant on the end. Oh yeah, and that black tote-bag is still there.
Fighting Information
Fighting Style: “Malandragem” Capoeira
Years Practiced: 10
Description of style: “Dance of War”, this particular style was deprived from Brazil by enslaved Africans that learned to fight with shackles on their hands. The game is marked by fluid acrobatic play, feints, and extensive use of groundwork, as well as sweeps, kicks, hand-spins, cart wheels and headbutts. Less frequently-used techniques include elbow-strikes, slaps, punches, and body-throws. capoeria is known for being a more ‘playful’ tehnique compared to most fighting styles, it focuses more on confusing the opponent, speed, movement and evasiveness versus damaging. Fakes and feints are also an extremely important element in capoeira games and the setting of "traps" or illusory movements are very common. Since the movement in Capoeira is more fluid and acrobatic-like, it makes the style very unpredictable, and hard to tell what the user will do next. The style can be heavily described like dancing, their moves often involving keeping a beat or flowing to the music.
Arim herself trains under style more based around the polar “Malandragem”, a more confusing and difficult style for Capoeiristas. The term meaning “The Art of Trickery”. This involves a lot of improvisation and modifications of basic moves into a flurry of feints and fakes to trick the opponent into responding wrongly. These attempts can be blatant or subtle at discretion of the players. Effective malandragem lies in the development of sharp observation skills and a keen innate ability to anticipate the moves of the opponent and prepare an appropriate response. Due to Arim’s tiny and feeble build, and very diminished physical strength, her style centers around tricking the opponent and missing thrown punches and attacks.
History Information
History:
Cosette Faustine was born in North America as an only child in a well-set family. While not rich, they were above middle class, at least enough to hire a round-the-clock nurse to take care of Cosette 24/7. Her parents were not very maternal figures, often going to work or doing their own thing, leaving Cosette and her nanny, Yuta, alone. Unknown to her parents, she was a phenomenally smart young girl, reading books at a young age and trying to expand her curiosity with the literature around her. The descent of Yuta was Brazilian and an expert of Capoeira, taught the little girl all the basics. Cosette was home schooled with Yuta because Cosette had problems interacting with students at a young age, often oddly avoiding them or just not talking to them at all. With her parents always gone, and most of her time spent with Yuta, the young girl grew increasingly attached her to nanny and distanced from her parents. The lack of love and affection from them replaced with Yuta was all she had, and it was all she needed.
However, things didn’t roll over quite as well as they had wanted. Parents had grown increasingly jealous that Cosette had become closer to Yuta than they had ever been with her, thinking that the nanny was at fault for this. Simple solution? Fire the nanny. Having grown into such a mother-daughter relationship with Cosette, the nanny did not want to part with the young girl, unable to ever see her again. A quarrel burst from the two oppositions, Yuta did not want to leave, but the parents refused to let her see their daughter ever again. Blinded with fury, Yuta grabbed a nearby lamb and beat them to death in a fit of rage, only to realize once they were dead what she had done. Unknown to the nanny, the young girl had witnessed the whole thing behind her. However, Cosette’s eyes were only blank with disappointment rather than fear and devastation; she felt no love towards her parents so she could feel no remorse for them. However, her concern was what would happen to Yuta.
It had started, it was then the ultimate test of her wit, Yuta can not get caught. Spending her immense time, she moved everything around, making a tale and shaping it for an alibi for her beloved nanny. However, it was never to cover up the corpse… there was too much evidence already against that; she could not cover up the murder itself. Too many people knew her parents, and knew that they were at home. Instead, she had to alter it. Presenting the evidence herself, she made it look like she herself had committed the murder against her parents, her already unstable social skills presenting as good evidence. Yuta was never trialed, and for punishment, Cosette underwent counseling and rehabilitation. While this was the only lawful punishment for her, it had affected her mentally. Rearranging corpses, fixing the deaths and making it look like she had committed them, it had damaged her consciousness. Cosette started to have problems; she constantly washed her hands, and could never touch herself anywhere. She complained her hands reeked of blood, and were constantly stained red. As time went on, she could only see her hands covered in blood all the time, her wrists suddenly became chronically itchy and she had to constantly scratch and pick at them. The young girl complained there was something underneath her skin that was making her itch, and she had to get it out. Doctors had wrapped up her arms to the elbow, making her wear short gloves to get her to stop this horrible habit.
Having gone through 6 years of rehabilitation; Cosette finally needs to return to mainstream schooling. Due to private reasons, her name had been changed (by her personal preference) to Arim Urem’der. Learning from counselors to become more social, she was finally fit to communicate with others. She finally started the first day of school ever, being supported all the way by her adoptive mother, Yuta.
Of course, as much as Arim had liked this happy life of hers, no such things are permanent. She faced several complications during her times at Public Highschool #259. Things went terribly wrong for her with the arrival of a strange man named Serj Castlereagh. Promptly after, Delilah and Rem broke up, and had rather terrible consequences. Yahto and Rem had left 259, and Delilah was promptly jailed. Arim, once again, felt like she was all alone in the world again. There was only one person to turn to, and she refused. She knew it was the bad descision. This mixed with her unstable mind, Arim felt she was left with no other choice but to run away. This had not done much to help her, as she progressed poorly over time, wearing away at her mind. She knew full well of this, and only one last resort to possibly fix it all. She would return to Public Highschool #259, return to her previous home.
