Raeleen Kuronagi was born actually Raeleen A. Hijikata. She shed the name Hijikata for the memories it brought to her and to others. She shed it also because she wanted to be her own person beyond her prestigious name. She was born the daughter of the well renown fighter and businessman, Suko Hijikata; and the well renown dojo instructor, fighter and businesswoman, Kina Kazamaki-Hijikata. Raeleen's father, Suko, ran the Hijikata Corporation since the age of 17; inheriting it after his father, Gentatsu Hijikata's murder. The Hijikata name and business was already nationally known for it's advances in technology, medicine and trade. But only after when Suko took over did the name and business gain higher respect and recognition and is now the world wide business that is known today. Raeleen's mother, Kina was a well known street fighter from PHS 623, where she met her husband. Upon their marriage she gained 50% of the business and the opportunity to build one of the best the nation wide dojo she always wanted.
Raeleen was brought up most of her life in Japan with her two other siblings; her older brother Kiyusuke, who is 3 years older than her, and her twin sister Rayna. Unlike her brother and sister, Raeleen was somewhat of a family secret for reasons she was and is unaware of still. For the first 8 years of her life, she lived somewhat of a normal life with her parents and siblings, occasionally going out doing things little kids would do; but yet she wasn't a normal little girl. Around the ages of 6 and 7 she was capable of doing things normal children at that age couldn't possibly do without assistance; for instance, she was very acrobatic and agile for her age. A little after her 9th birthday she was sent away by her parents. She didn't understand why, they told her that it was best for her and they will always visit and she would be able to visit them; and that their love for her will never change. At first she believed that it was because of some of her outburst, but she was assured that it wasn't. She believed them, said her farewells and left to live with a close friend of the family. But before she left her brother, Kiyusuke, promised her that he will always be there for her, anytime she needed him for anything all she had to do was call. He brought her a puppy to keep her company. An Alaskan Husky she named Nanook.
As time passed, she began questioning again to why it was she had to leave; why was it best for her to be away from them; was she that ill that they were afraid that she would pass it; or were they ashamed of her? But Kiyusuke reassured her that everything she thought wasn't true. This illness she had... she didn't even know what it was... she was just given medication to take for it. Since the age of 3, she had suffered from nightmares; sometimes resulting in her becoming slightly violent; were these nightmares a result of whatever her illness was?.. she didn't know. The only person that was able to calm her down was her brother. He was always there for her, even after she left. Their bond can never be broken. Raeleen and her sister Rayna had a pretty good relationship, but Raeleen always felt that people were comparing her to her sister, and that she didn't like. But she loved her sister and respected her, so pretty much there really wasn't any jealousy towards her, she just wanted to be her own person.
Her mother, Kina, was probably the only one that could possibly understand what was going on with her daughter. Suko as well for he dealt with it during his time with Kina. But only Kina knew in depth the struggle her child would be going through. For when Kina was younger, she was experimented on by her father. A certain chemical was introduced into her body that caused her to be quite violent at times. Even having violent nightmares and such. It practically seemed like she had a split personality. After years of dealing with it, she and Suko had discovered some sort of antidote - or rather something to suppress it for the time being. Kina wasn't sure if that substance could ever be passed down, but it seems like it had blended with her blood so well that it transfered itself to her one of her daughters. Once Kina was aware of this, she and Suko began giving Raeleen the medicine to try to suppress it as much as they could until they found a cure for it completely. The reason why she had to put her daughter into hiding was so that Kina's older brother, and Suko's half brother wouldn't try to take her and experiment on her. To study her, to extract that substance and use it for their own purposes.
Living away from her family wasn't easy but they kept their word. But since she was constantly moving the visits soon became phone calls because she had moved so far that they couldn't really visit her so much. She understood this, but was still sadden. As she grew up, she spend most of her time training, drawing, painting, and daydreaming; since daydreaming was one of the times that she could actually have a pleasant thought. Her nightmares plagued her so much that she didn't want to sleep, but sometimes they weren't so frequent. Another thing that always soothed her was music, gentle music. As she grew up she learned to play the piano and the violin, she became quite good at this. Her brother thought her the family art of The Whispering Thought, it was an art that combined the mind and the body as one abling you to think faster in combat without hesitation. He told her that most fighters don't think while their fighting they just fight, "This will give you an advantage...." he told her. And so spent her days training and preparing her body and mind.
As she got older, around 11 she began to see more and more of the violence this world had to offer. Ironically it didn't faze her too much, she hated it yes, she thought that most of it was shear stupidity, but apart of her was somewhat ok with it. She felt that the world is not a peaceful place and sometimes you have to use a little violence to achieve peace. But then again, she felt that it needed to be justified. At the age of 13, she became to know only one thing and that was death. All around her people she knew; her friends; were dropping like flies. But still this didn't faze her so much, it was probably because she cared for them yes, but they weren't very close to her. She started dating Jaden Nagi when she 14, and he was 15.
But there would come a time when everything would hit her so hard that she would probably just snap and these times wasn't far away. When she was 15, one of the biggest tragedies hit her hard right in the middle of her heart; she lost her twin sister Rayna in a horrible fire that had happened at Rayna's school. It was known as the Valentine's Day Tragedy. Raeleen was on her way that day to visit Rayna at her school as a surprise. Her sister had no idea that she was coming, she was bringing along a present that Rayna had asked for for her boyfriend, Raeleen decided to bring it personally but didn't tell Rayna, but as it would turn out the surprise was on her. At that time Raeleen was 7 months pregnant with her and Jaden's daughter, Rayna was the only one who knew about that. For Raeleen was a bit afraid to tell her parents, even her brother that at such a young age she was to be a mother. She had arrived to the school, along with her boyfriend Jaden Nagi, who on that day were celebrating one year together; though they knew each other for 2 years they were only officially together for one at that time; and saw Rayna's school in cased in fire, she automatically dropped to her knees and started screaming and crying. She just had a feeling that Rayna was still in there, she knew how her sister was; always so helpful; she knew Rayna would still be in there. All she could do was cry as Jaden held her trying to calm her down. She had left before her older brother Kiyusuke had arrived with his girlfriend Christa.
Raeleen was a wreck after that, she found it hard it just go on like it was ok. But along with Kiyusuke and her boyfriend Jaden she tired. Kiyusuke of course wanted to visit her, but she was pregnant and he didn't know, she was afraid of what he might think so she kept her distance from him till her daughter was born, 2 months after Rayna's death, on April 5, 2004. Her name was Nevaeh Nagi; heaven spelled backward. She has her father's and mothers black hair, and her fathers hazel eyes. Though Jaden and Raeleen weren't married they decided she, Nevaeh, would dawn his name, since he was planning to marry her once they got old enough to do so. But unfortunately, only 3 months after losing her sister, Raeleen got into a car accident, where she was the only survivor. That accident claimed the lives of two of her closest friends, and more importantly her love, Jaden Nagi. Raeleen could just barely hold herself together after that, but her brother was right there to stop her from falling, though he still didn't know about her daughter. She was at least happy that Jaden was able to see his daughter be born and spend some time with her. Ever since the car accident, Raeleen can't stand to be in a car for too long, let alone a speeding car, and also if a car was to come out of nowhere at her she would just freeze up. Raeleen after that made a huge change. She began doing things that she wouldn't normally do, she basically started to become a little rebellious. Even though she had a daughter, she was still this way, though around her daughter she was different. Her daughter kept her going, even though her heart had be torn in more than two parts, but that wasn't the end, she experienced one last tragedy that made her distance herself from everyone, including her brother. Five months after losing her boyfriend and eights months after losing her sister, Raeleen's parents were murdered.
Raeleen was there that dreadful day, but the only problem is she doesn't know or even remember what happened. The last thing she says to have remembered was standing in front of her parents and then she felt a sharp pain, as if someone hit her, then she blacked out. She had awoken in her brother's arms with a stab wound in her stomach and her parents her laid out on their mansion floor. Raeleen went into a complete shock, and started screaming. Kiyusuke tried is best to calm her but that was the last straw for her. After that she made a vow that she wouldn't let anyone get close to her again and she wouldn't let anyone give their life to protect her. Two months later she left, to be on her own, she took out everything she had from the bank that was left to her [which was a lot of money, but I'm not saying how much. ], and proceed to try to live some kind of life. Being that Kiyusuke still didn't know about her Nevaeh, she trusted three close friends of her and Jaden to watch and take care of her; the main person being a 20 year old girl named Lily. In trying to obtain a new life she changed her last name by taking it from her boyfriends last name, Nagi, and just adding Kuro in front of it.
A thought that stood on her mind was, who in the world was strong enough to take out her parents?. Raeleen had lost everybody that she had ever loved and cared about deeply, except for her brother and her daughter, but she had left them because it was just to hard for both of them. She found a new place to live in France for awhile, till two months into living their, she noticed she was being followed by a man. She hadn't a clue to why he was after her, or even trying to kill her. She assumes maybe because he knows that she is the other daughter of Suko and Kina Hijikata, or maybe because he thinks that she did see something of her parents murder; which would mean he was the one. Maybe. Since then she has been running from him, which has somewhat kept her from missing school a lot. Which is a main reason why her daughter is a secret, the other reason was because she wasn't ready to tell her brother not with everything that was going on. But anywhere that Rae goes Lily is only about a state away, just so that Rae could still visit her and keep in touch. The other two were Kris Dekker, and Gail. Gail didn't have a last name for he had no real family.
Glory High School was her last high school, located in Chicago. It's reputation academically as pretty good for the students that took advantage of the education, but by school standards it was very bad; harboring the violence and malice of the student body. The school was pretty much runned and terrorized by a local gang, The Dragon Lords. But the due to the respect they had for her brother Kiyusuke and also the little crush the leader, Kris Dekker had on her, they left her alone, and also the fact that her boyfriend, Jaden, had been apart of the gang before his death. She couldn't stand Glory High anymore, but she never planned to do anything till one faithful day. The last day Glory High School would ever see sunlight again. Earlier that day, before Glory's fall, her principal try to "touch" her in his office. That was the last straw for her, and on that day she kind of snapped for a moment. She pushed him off and was going to stab him with a letter opener, but his secretary knocked on the door, lucky for him at that moment. Before she stormed out, he made a threat towards her, but she just left and went up to the roof. Within three hours, she formulated a plan that would bring the demise of Glory High School along with it's pervert principal. She organized that nobody would be in the building but him. She used her seductive ways and took him to his office where she knocked him out and tied him to his chair with barbed wire. She told him her "thoughts" and took the letter opener and cut off his....(well you know what)... and then set that area on fire. Then she set the rest of the building a blaze, as she watched from three blocks away on a rooftop; smiling and said, "And so goes Glory High School, down in a blaze of glory.". She knew the Dragon Lords would be blamed, but she vouched for them and they weren't charged. Kris Dekker, leader of the Dragon Lords, was and is the only one that knew it was her. Kris was rather shocked that it was her that did it, for it was very much out of character. It had seemed like she wasn't afraid to take a life. She has 10 killings under her belt, and only 6 she actually remembers doing, the other 4 she knows nothing about.... It might have something to do with her illness, but she doesn't know that... At this moment, if anything was to happen to her brother she would completely lose it, and convert to that person that she has no memory of being but it would most likely be in and out. But if she lost her daughter than that would be it, she would never return; she would forever be that person.
~Life at 552 and coming to Mugen~
After that time she had moved to New York and attended PHS 552 for some time. Staying at a mini mansion with her dog, Nanook, she slowly began discovering herself in New York. Though she tried hard to keep to herself and stay away from other people's problems. Occasionally she found herself drawn into them. There was that part of her that just couldn't help but to assist these people. Though her depression at the time did have a great hold upon her. To the point that it had seemed like she was going to jump off the roof of the school. But she wasn't, despite the fact that the two people that were trying to talk her down thought so. Se didn't have the heart to do so. No matter how much she wanted to be with her parents, and sister, and her love.
One night she was found in the rain, blood dripping off her hands, by two guys. A guy named Areon and another named Ghiste. Areon had brought her back to his dojo despite the fact that she had blood hold her hands. The events of that night are still quite unclear to her. She knew that the blood upon her hands came from her friend Kris Dekker. But what she couldn't fathom was why? Her mind had filled with so many thoughts about if she had killed him or not. But during her stay at the dojo, Areon made her feel quite comfortable and relaxed. There was definitely something there between them.
But the first boy that she had let into her life was Dric. One day when she was spending one of her many days on the roof, she happened to be talking aloud to herself about the things that happened to her. He happened to have overheard what she had said and approached her. From that day on that had grown a bit closer. Though there was one before him that had pursued her, but she chose to just remain friends with that one. One day the person that had been pursuing her had shown up once again, his name was Dorjan. During that time Dric and Raeleen were a couple, and with him trying to protect her he had gotten hurt. She couldn't forgive herself for that. But their relationship didn't last. It was a heartbreak to end it, but the time had come to do so.
At the Valentine's dance, Raeleen had a very unexpected encounter with an old friend from the past. Someone whom she hadn't seen since she was little. His name was Mieten. But much later on in the school courtyard she had discovered that he was actually that childhood friend that she knew only as Ten. But the only reason she had discovered that was because he had noticed the three little cuts that were on her neck. Something she had gotten long ago in his presence. Since then they had been working on getting their friendship back. Though it was a little difficult considering he used to date and was in love with her twin sister. Or was it really her that he was in love with and thought that Rayna was Aurora? After all Aurora was the name that she had given him years ago.
During the time of her getting her friendship back with Mieten. Slowly but surely her heart began to fall once more for someone. Areon Fury had begun to capture her heart. Something she thought would never happen again. But also during this time, she had revealed her true name - relinquishing Kuronagi and taking back Hijikata. Her older brother Kiyusuke, wanted her to run their fathers company along side him. And once she had reclaimed her name and made it public that the infamous Suko and Kina Hijikata had another daughter. The media went into a frenzy about it. Her name and face was broad casted all over the world. But despite all that her focus was upon her growing relationship with Areon, and her re-growing friendship with Mieten. One day while they all happened to be at the beach, Gail showed up with Nevaeh, telling me that Lily was killed and that he came to New York in search for the person that killed Kris. The news of Kris's death had spread throughout, considering he was one of the leaders of one the biggest gangs in Chicago.
Raeleen didn't know what to think for she had believed that she killed Kris, but she couldn't say that. With her daughter now known to her friend and lover, their bonds had grown stronger. But Rae still couldn't escape her past. She still couldn't let her feelings. She was still that slightly opened rose with a few thorns surrounding it. Eventually things didn't really work with Areon, as much as she would've liked it to. Things between them were getting more and more complicated, and she just couldn't do it anymore. Nor could she do it to him any longer. She wanted him to be happy and safe. So she broke it off with him, but assured that she would never forget him and that she wanted to remain friends.
Just before she made that decision, Mieten had left. He had been living with her for a little while, but then he just up and left with barely a word. That not only worried her, but made her a tad upset that he would do such a thing. Though she too felt it was time for a change of scenery, so using her resources to find Mieten - she discovered he had come to Philly. A place she hadn't since her last business trip. Packing her and Nevaeh's things she bought a home out there and moved. Enrolling herself in Mugen Hall to finish up her senior year. Though one might think with her grades and such she should be in Deveraux International Academy, but actually enrolled herself in PHS 381. Turing down Deveraux's offers. Why? Well why not? And besides she knew Mieten would be attending 381.
Who knows what this place as installed for her. After all things in New York had gotten kinda quite. She hadn't seen Dorjan in some time, nor has she felt like she was being watched. Maybe things would remain quite, hopefully.
In Mugen
Life in Philly actually wasn't so bad for at all. Raeleen enjoyed the somewhat quiteness that the city provided. Not to mention she had her daughter which meant the world to her. But she was on a mission to find Mieten, mainly because she needed to tell him that his brother had been released from jail - thanks to the help of his friend and her brother Kiyusuke. Rae knew that Mieten would be furious and probably not even let her explain, but that time soon came when she finally had a lead on him. She found out that he was staying at a hotel, so quickly she rushed out to comfort him. She wasn't sure what she would say or do when she first saw him, but all that was put aside once he opened the door. Her emotions took over and yelled at him, even pushing him inside. She had been so worried about him. She had lost so many people she couldn't take losing anymore in her life. They had a small little spat or rather she more or less was the one doing most of the talking. Till she got a phone call reminding her about her flight. She was going away on a business trip with her brother to Barcelona and immediately a thought popped in her mind.
She asked Mieten to come along with her. At the moment one of the real reasons why she needed to speak with him had completely slippd her mind. But he accepted and they headed off to Barcelona for a week. There they spent some time together after her meetings were over, going sight seeing and such. Just getting to really know one another all over again. After all it had been such a long time. But eventually she had to tell him and when she did just as she thought, he was angry and couldn't understand why they would help the one that supposably caused Rae's twin sisters death. Well the truth was because he didn't. He was set up, but Mieten didn't really want to hear it at the time. And this was on the last day of their trip. On the whole flight back Mieten didn't speak a word to Rae. Causing her to feel guilty for saying anything, but she had to. She had forgiven his brother, especially after realizing that it was a set up for him. She tired to explain that to Mieten but he didn't want to hear it. He needed his space as he put it and left once more.
Raeleen was heart broken because she had lost such a dear friend. But before he left he stopped and came to her, stating calmly that one day he would come back. He just couldn't deal with this right now and he was still afraid of what his other side might do to her if allowed. It seemed like the whole thing grew into something much more than Rae had thought it was. But she smiled and told him that he'd better. He smiled and left. She hasn't seen him since. And since then she's moved to Long Beach, Cali. Philly just wasn't doing it for her, she needed that city life once more. Now she attends PHS 259, HOPEFULLY, FINALLY she'll be able to stop moving around so much.
