A sigh crept through his lips. Under his right hand, some papers, his left, raised to make the rapping noise that now could be heard both from within and from without. He looked around, giving a quick survey of his surroundings. He didn't really know why he was here, the soon to be School Captain, there, on the doorstep of one of his pillars. He wasn't the type to interact with people, but he had decided that, if anything, this would be a bonding time for him and a chosen...accuaintance. If you could call her that. They're relationship was an interesting one, at best, and while the full effects of his accident had taken over, he wouldn't forget what they had done or seen. They really hadn't spent any time together since that night, and he really liked having a personal interaction with each of his pillars.
He wasn't thinking of this on a TOTAL business trip though.
He needed to just come out and say it.
He liked the girl.
Not like a guy who wanted a girlfriend, but he liked her, wanted to be her friend. Maybe try and actually have one for once. He had none, really. So, he decided to test the waters, take a Little risk, and try to befriend the only girl who really seemed interested in talking to him or being around the crazy white haired school captain to be. David took a deep breath as he waited. He wore a white dress shirt, untucked, the sleeves rolled up. On the bottom he wore blue Levies, sort of rugged in they're appearance. He thought he looked pretty good, for him. His hair hung as it naturally did, and his piercing red eyes stared out from underneath it.
He looked to the door, the paper and envelope he held pulled against his side, eyes taking in the knob as it began to turn.

Well, Emily had been busy.
Of course, she had been finishing some of her artwork for that manga until that knock came out from the door. It was a weekend, so she wasn't expecting anyone at all, really.
She let the blood run to her legs again for three seconds before walking towards the door and opening it, only to meet eyes with a familiar crimson-eyed pillar. "Oh hey, David." She said, stepping outside and closing the door after her.
Emily tilted her head to the side, looking sort of puzzled. Her hair was tied up into a rather messy bun adorned with a little paintbrush holding her white-hair up, a few strands of hair poking out and gracing her slightly sweaty face and neck. As for clothes, working with paint and airbrushes were a messy business, so she wore a loose white shirt with the left sleeve pulled up and dark green cycling shorts.
She crossed her arms, "What brings you here this fine saturday morning?"

The door swung open, Emily standing there looking just as good as she always did, if not better. He liked it better when a girl had the confidence to jsut open her door like that, and when they still made it look good. He cleared his throat, then sighed as he looked her in the eye.
"Mind if i come inside?"
Davids voice was soft, casual, though he was in fact, really nervous. He hadnt asked a girl out in several years, and now he had one he was sure many guys swooned over sitting here in front of him. He had done some research, looking for men whose eyes, hair, or looks may resemble himself. There was only one, And it fit. His first name was jon, the same name she had spoken when she was a little delerious outside the school during theyre fight. It must be the guy she had feelings for, especially with the way she had spoken it so softly, and the way she had looked at him like she was confused yet happy and wanting. David, while good looking, wasnt the target of this girls affection. It was fine.
Not like he wanted it anyway.

"Mind if i come inside?" Emily blinked once, and twice before opening the door and giving him way.
"Not at all. Here, come in." She would say, letting him inside before she would close the door gently, hopefully not wake the rest of the other tenants. "I'm sorry if everything's a mess, sort of finishing some cover pages."
Right at the floor were paper, paint and brushes, including an airbrush. Yup, she was busy all right. Well, people had to make a living.
Emily just hated to spoil herself. "So, again I ask, what brings you here? ...Did anything happen?"

"Nah, its okay. I don't mind."
He said it with a smile, entering and admiring her artwork. He walked inside, not answering her questions as he sat down at the table and looked over at her with a little look on his face, something like "what am i doing here" yet not. Hard to explain. Moving on. David sighed, reaching for his envelope and standing, pulling out two tickets and walked over to her with a small smile on his face.
"Look...im heading to Paris for a week...and, well, i want you to come with me."
Talk about blunt.
"I know its sudden and I'm kinda straightforward about it but..."
He ground his teeth before looking down at the tickets and trying to find the right words.
"I guess i cant think of anyone better id rather spend the week with."
True statement. David didn't have anyone better, really. But it wasn't just that, he truly meant it. In his mind, it was a statement made to his friend. See, if you haven't gotten the hints, David like Emily as more than just a friend. He's just in denial.
Continuing on.
David held out the ticket to her, a small look of slight disdain at what he was doing and how he was offering it to her on his face, mixed with worry and apprehension. Truthfully, David hoped she would accept...hoped against hope, and was just worried about those feelings. He didn't want them, or so he thought. He just wanted to continue on as School Captain, graduate, and disappear.
Not gonna happen.

"Nah, its okay. I don't mind."
Emily smiled and crouched downward, picking up the pieces of paper, "Nah, I should clean up anyway." she told him as she put the already dried artwork into a folder. "Well, I'm more or less tired, and done... so I suppose this should be enough work for the day."
"Look...im heading to Paris for a week...and, well, i want you to come with me." Okay, Emily stopped in her tracks. Her eyes went from the papers on the floor and onto the Pillar sitting on her table. Huh? Was he inviting her to go to Paris with him? "I know its sudden and I'm kinda straightforward about it but..."
Emily blinked and waited a second for the continuation, only to hear "I guess i cant think of anyone better id rather spend the week with."
The white-haired artist looked away, lightly. Focusing her attention now on placing all the papers at the folder, and stored them at the closet where she placed her manga.
She closed the closet gently, a click would be heard before Emily looked at David a bit and blinked. "Why?"
Yeah. Why?
It was an overseas trip. Those things aren't exactly given to acquaintances and all that. Emily didn't consider herself to be inside David's circle of friends, if he did have one.
She treated him and thought of him as one though.

David stared for a moment as she asked why. Then, he tried to avoid the question altogether.
"Why? You know, when most people are offered an all expense paid trip to france, they dont ask much why's."
He set the ticket on the counter, moving toward the door as though making to leave. He cleared his throat as he opened it, loking over at her as he stood in her doorway. David Blaze wasnt much for small talk, he just went with things and moved along in his little circle of silence. He kept to himself, did things himself and worked for himself. As school captain, he would be having people under him, but he would still be working for himself. He sighed as he looked at her, the ticket still on the counter.
"Look...if you still have questions, its a long plane ride. I leave tomorrow morning at 10. If you feel uncomfortable with it...then you dont have to go. I just figured with two weeks break, might as well spend it in one of the greatest cities in the world, no matter who i spend it with."
That didnt answer her question, reaqlly, but it helped to make him feel a little better and would hopefully send her mind for a little loop, hopefully she would be forgetting by tomorrow that question of why he wouldnt want to spend the week with anyone else. Worse came to worse, he could just tell her he had no other friends, therefore directly avoiding a certain topic he wasnt ready to speak of.
He would then turn, unless she stopped him, and exit, getting into his jaguar and heading back home.

"Why? You know, when most people are offered an all expense paid trip to france, they dont ask much why's." Emily pouted a bit, crossing her arms over her chest and leaning onto the closet door. "Apparently, I'm not like this 'most people' you speak of." She said childishly (though albeit only playfully) before sticking out her tongue. Emily went silent as she watched him place the plant ticket onto the counter, blinking a bit. --Gosh, he was serious. "Look...if you still have questions, its a long plane ride. I leave tomorrow morning at 10. If you feel uncomfortable with it...then you dont have to go. I just figured with two weeks break, might as well spend it in one of the greatest cities in the world, no matter who i spend it with."A blink. Paris? Greatest Cities? Eh, greatness is subjective, and though Emily knew that Paris really is a facinating place -- Emily more or less wished, in the back of her mind, that this was a trip to Italy instead. Emily shook the thought of why from her head when she heard that click on the door and looked at the ticket on her table and went towards it, picking it up and reading it. It was a First-class ticket to France... Emily looked up at the ceiling, still holding that ticket and suddenly stormed into her room. She had things to pack, and overseas calls (to her publisher) to make.
"I've decided to go to France for a rest. I've left some money on your drawer. Take care of yourself while I'm gone, alright?
--- Love, Emily." That was the note she left on the table for Miria that night. Well, Emily liked to see new places and all, so despite being early, she wasn't looking forward to this at all. Why? --- Basically, Emily had always assosiated Airplanes with change. Changes, in the bad sense. She wasn't afraid.. Just wary... She sat there, waiting for that guy that had asked her to go with him. Excitement and Anxiety were making butterflies in her stomach. It had nothing to do with David at all... --- Just travel, in general.

A deep sweat and a deadly dream awoke the School Captain from his sleep that night, his hand going to his face to wipe away the moisture and his hair. He clung to the sheets, a cool breeze coming in through the open window and splashing across his face. He remembered the trip he had planned, and looked down at the clock, the time showing a far early four in the morning. He pulled the covers aside, sitting on the edge of the bed, fingers going up to the scar above his right shoulder, one he had gotten recently from a fight in the arena. He groaned, dead tired from the paperwork and pre-assigned duties he had given the workers for while he was gone. He put his head butler in charge for the week, and was a little tense from all the activity.
He stood, heading in to take a shower as a dog began barking outside. He went over to the window, pulling the curtain aside to peer out. The moonlight hit his body, defining his ample muscles as he glanced out, looking down at the dog who was, strangely, looking up into the sky and barking. David followed its line of sight, only to see a hawk flying overhead.
What was that saying? Something about a seeing a bird of prey before a journey and bad luck?
Perfect. That was all he needed. Bad luck.
He turned, snorting, and headed off into the bathroom, knowing there would be no more sleep for him that night.
----------------- Six Hours Later -----------------
David smiled warmly as he approached, taking the ticket from her hand and her luggage that was on the floor. He handed the ticket and the bag to a man who stood behind him, who then tossed the ticket in the garbage and took the luggage. David gestured with his hand for Emily to follow before taking off after the man, heading out a small entrance that led to the area planes were kept. There, they came upon a small jet, sleek, smooth, crisp in black with white striped over windows down the length of it. David smiled as he looked at it, speaking to Emily.
"She's the only black bird in the world, or so I'm told."
"Cmon, lets get on board, shall we?" He continued on, heading up the steps and into the plane, which was extremely nice, and very well decorated, with soft silky seats that were comfortable and relaxing, a small bottle of champagne sitting in the ice, along with some Sake, though he doubted they'd be drinking anything, especially after what happened last time. He took his seat, nodding to the man with the bag (Who placed it in a cargo closet), the man who then went and sat in the drivers seat, having been the pilot.
David looked at Emily.
"You look good! I'm glad you came."
He would tell her that, in another ten minutes he was going to leave, rather discouraged, but she had arrived just in time, and so now they could begin they're journey to Paris, the City of lo-
Er...The City of...A really tall tower?
No no...The City of...Strange speaking people?
No no no...uhh...
Screw it.
Paris, the City of Love.

Emily returned David's smile as he came to view. Well, she followed him to the said area where a black jet was.
o__o;;
Rich kids.
They're everywhere.
Emily was pretty rich herself, but she refused to stray from the general population. Why? Well, she loved people... or at least, she grew to love them after being afraid of them for so long.
"She's the only black bird in the world, or so I'm told."
She shook her head and smiled, "Heh... I figure..."
"Cmon, lets get on board, shall we?" Emily nodded and followed David onto the said plane, blinking as she headed inside. Well, it was a private jet... it seemed as if he took his house with him. The seats were of silk, the floor of soft carpet and the throw pillows -- gah, there were so much things that money bought.
Emily realized that... but-- "You look good! I'm glad you came." Yes, David disturbed her thoughts. Blinking once again she looked down at herself. She was wearing a black tank top underneath a white blouse dress, which she had fashionably worn a belt and black denim pants with. Her hair was let loose, a few hairclips more or less providing a touch of green to Emily's otherwise monochrome sense of style. Her feet? Well, she had green strap sandals.
Yeah, she looked good -- Emily just blushed it off and smiled again. "Ah, thanks." she smiled, "You look rather striking yourself, Meester School Captain~"
Her grin grew into something more playful as she sat down gently onto the soft seats. She panicked for a little moment as she felt herself sink deeper than what she was used to, but it was otherwise comfortable.

David smiled politely as she returned the compliment. It had been a while since he had flown anywhere, so as the plan picked up speed and left the ground, his stomach leapt as well. He didn't change his expression, more or less just noted that small fact. He looked down at the bucket of ice in front of him, two bottles sitting inside of it, both sake. He decided, right then and there, to have the waitress remove them, especially after what happened last time Emily was allowed near that stuff. He touched the waitress (Stewardess?) on the shoulder, the plush brunette turning to David and leaning in as the boy requested she remove the bottles and bring them something simple, like sparkling cider or the like.
The woman nodded, grabbing the bucket and walking back to the rear of the plane as David returned his piercing gaze to the female in front of him as another small smile came to his lips.
"I have to admit, i was a little surprised to see you at the airport...i didn't really think you would want to come."
He cleared his throat as the lady brought back some sparkling cider and a couple menus in front of them. Davids plane had its own five star chef, though Emily wouldn't know that. He didn't travel by plane often, but when he did he made sure it was luxurious and lavish, since his life at home just wasn't any of those things. He lived in a nice house, sure, but other than that, there was really nothing. He went to school in a terrible place, hell, he was CAPTAIN of said school. He just didn't really fit the bill when it came to the rich kids, so when he did need to put money into play, he did it well and with lots of it.
He poured him and her a glass, then looked up at her again.
"I'm not exactly the type who likes a lot of questions, but i remember that yesterday you had a few...you may ask them now, if you like."
He would wait diligently, or else place his order, eyes really never leaving the white haired pillar seated across from him.

If there was anyone wary about travelling, it was Emily. Her history would explain why...
But that's a story for yet another time. Emily had been more or less busy trying to not be afraid of sitting on such soft material. Well, probably something to get used to?
"I have to admit, i was a little surprised to see you at the airport...i didn't really think you would want to come." Emily looked at David, tilting her head to the side as she finally got comfortable.
"Well, I had nothing better to do besides work..." she told him, "I ought to give myself a real break now and then, ne? Especially with everything that has been happening in school lately."
Yes... the stress that cams with being a pillar; being a person of some major political position within the school -- it wasn't to be underestimated. Emily figured that it was about time she had a break from it all.
Well, what better opportunity than this...?
"I'm not exactly the type who likes a lot of questions, but i remember that yesterday you had a few...you may ask them now, if you like."
Emily blinked, "Ah, I don't really have anything to ask to you. Though..." Emily crossed her arms, "You seemed to be avoiding answering 'why' you invited me, of all people, here. Any explaination?"

How did he know she was going to ask it? He thought, maybe, she might ask him how he got all the money he did, or where exactly they would go or do. But no. She just had to come back to the whole question of why he had even invited her. Why did she care? It was a free trip to Paris. Sure, the trip was with David, but he was sure she could probably handle being around him for a week in exchange for going to one of the greatest cities in the world. He sighed as he looked out the window, his face blank of most expression except for a slight twinge of sadness.
"I'm not sure. Your the only one i feel...whats the word..." His face went into a slight look of disdain. "...close to? Not exactly the right choice of words but i guess it will do." He blushed a little, before it left quickly. He cleared his throat, grabbing his newly poured drink and taking a deep swig. The spicy cider washed over his mouth and senses clearing them in an swift instant. He looked to the female sitting in front of him. What WAS his exact reason for bringing her? What he told her was, indeed, truth, but not exactly the whole truth. He didn't know the real reason behind it, didn't think he really wanted to know, and so stopped thinking about it. He smiled as he leaned back in his chair.
"So, Emily, Heres a question. How does a girl that looks like you stay single for so long? I would think you would have a love interest or a boyfriend by now..." It was as close to asking about her interest in men as he would get, and even it made him kick himself. He wasn't really worried about her liking anyone, since he himself didn't like...well...didnt THINK he liked anyone. He placed the drink back down on the little table, though he never took his eyes off Emily. He noticed a man walking toward him from down the aisle, and groaned inwardly.
Anson Sinty. Damn Man. Never left him alone...He ignored the guy for the time being, concentrating on the white haired pillar until he had to address him.

"I'm not sure. Your the only one i feel...whats the word... close to? Not exactly the right choice of words but i guess it will do."
Emily tilted her head a bit before smiling. So that's how it was? "Ah, so you're comfortable with me?"
She chuckled a bit, missing that blush. Hmm, she could use a bit of coffee right now.
"So, Emily, Heres a question. How does a girl that looks like you stay single for so long? I would think you would have a love interest or a boyfriend by now..."
Emily blinked. Hmm? Interesting question. Emily had never been very interested in guys until recently. Well, all the fault of a certain white-haired gang leader.
It wouldn't be until much later when she would be able to confess to him again, and until now his answer wasn't really known.
"I don't know." Emily sighed, "I do have a love interest though... but I doubt he looks at me the same way."
Her expression sunk for a moment before it lit up again. Hope was the major factor in Emily's personality, and it was one of the few things that kept her going. "... but I can only hope he at least thinks of me as a friend he can count on."
