The Super Shorty is a relatively new design, cooked up in the minds of gun nuts in the great state of Texas. Its design makes it fall under the classification of a pistol in the United States regulations, however, it fires Shotgun sized ordinance. The normal use of this weapon would be home defense, and perhaps minor bank robberies, as at a distance, it performs quite poorly.
The draw of this gun is its compact size and nature, allowing it to be worn under, say, a jacket inside a holster. It clocks in at about 4 lbs loaded, and can hold up to 5 shots with one in the chamber.
With a maximum effective range of 50 yards, its perfect range sits at 10 yards, where its ordinance's determined spread is most perfectly in sync with its damage ratio. However, it should be known that the closer one gets to the shotgun, the more damage unto them that will be wrought. At point blank range, a shot to the temple COULD be considered fatal, however, one would have to be EXCEPTIONALLY good at getting close to someone.
The damage can be broken down thusly;
Every shot fires 15 smooth rubber balls. They travel quite fast (Dodging is possibly, but at range you'll more than likely be clipped by at least one). At 10 yards, the equivalent damage of being hit by one of the balls is 15 strength, causing the overall damage, should someone be hit by every ball (at that range; impossible), the damage received would be 150; enough to knock everyone on their ass, if not unconscious. At 20 Yards, the damage is 12 strength, 30 the damage is 9, 40 the damage is 6, and 50 the damage is 3. However, at the range of 5 yards, the damage has increased exponentially. Each ball will cause 25 damage to the player, and the chance of them being hit is increased greatly. However, their ability to dodge said attack is much greater, since the spread is much smaller. Anything less than 4 yards is an almost waste of ammo against dexterous opponents, however, it can be noted that if hit at this range, knockout is almost guaranteed. Point blank can pulverize organs, causing massive damage to the unprotected weak spots of the human body.
The projectiles themselves are pushed out of the gun through a small explosion of gunpowder (substituted with Stone, in the ingredients list, as its made out of Sulfur and Charcoal essentially), which is significantly reduced from its lethal counterpart. The balls towards the top of the shell (where top means farthest from the ignition point) are propelled the 'slowest', meaning not as fast as the ones closest to the bottom (where bottom means closest to the ignition point). These are propelled fastest, and straightest, while the farthest are propelled in varying directions, creating the classical 'spread' nature of this weapon.
The shell are loaded through the bottom. It is reloaded by pump action, where the secondary handle is pulled towards the user to eject the current shell, and load in a new shell. Shells are reusable, but only if picked up, therefore lowering future costs (Would remove 1 lb plastic for every 25 retrieved, and 1/8th Sheet metal for every 25 retrieved).
This version of the gun is the first, and as such, has been granted the mark of the Ace of Spades, a Spade with a flourished A in the middle, stamped on the top of the gun, near where it curves down into the grip. It is, for all intents and purposes, the best made so far, and it was given this honor by its creator.
