Unless you're invited in via PM, don't post. :x If you're interested in joining in, PM me with a reason and I'll see. >_>
One day since that message came through the hallways of PHS 259.
Emily didn't know if David leaving and giving her so many things to deal with was a good thing, but she would rather bear those issues on her shoulders than it being shoved to someone else. She was capable yes, but still a bit insecure about her own ability to discern the rightful Captain of Public High School #259.
Groaning, she packed her things right after class and headed out quickly. There was a certain person she had to talk to today.
There she stood, waiting right by her locker. She knew Olesya's locker was just a few lockers away from her own, and so finding an opportunity to see her wouldn't be so hard. Emily had texted Olesya to meet her over here as well, hopefully... she wouldn't mind spending a night in ... well, David's house.
She couldn't bear to say it was her own, because it was not.
Emily considered herself to be nothing but a caretaker, nothing more.
But yes, she waited.
She should be out any minute now.
Yes, any minute now.

"I'll see what I can do but, honestly? I don't think you could fit that many people in one room and expect it not to end badly."
Olesya approached her locker, smiling with a shake of her head and waving off a boy with green hair. Looking up, she saw Emily and grinned, greeting her friend as she put the combination into her locker.
"Em! Oh, how are you?"
She asked, considering what had happened in the last 24 hours. David was gone now, the second School Captain to relinquish the title without warning in so many months. It was a big burden now put on her friends shoulders, and in fact Olesya had beat up and broken up a small group of students who had been sitting and plotting in the lunch room earlier today. Emily had been made a target with this new duty, and everyone seemed to want a piece of the pie. Olesya put her books in her hands into her locker, grabbing her backpack as she considered what homework she needed to take home.

"I'll see what I can do but, honestly? I don't think you could fit that many people in one room and expect it not to end badly." Familiar voice. It could only be Olesya. "Em! Oh, how are you?"
Emily smiled back, "I've been better, to tell the truth." she said, "This Captain thing's worse than being in the School Newsletter."
The white-haired pillar shook her head, closing her locker. She had already done dealing with the letters, and thank God there weren't any challenges today. A rare opportunity, since tomorrow was going to be a weekend.
Hallelujah!
"Want to have dinner at... well, David's place?" she told her, "Yeah, strange to be eating at his place but... long story. And... it's one of the things I feel I must discuss with you."
Yes, a girl-to-girl talk was due.

"I've been better, to tell the truth. This Captain thing's worse than being in the School Newsletter."
Olesya wasn't surprised by her friend's comment. To have all this responsibility dropped into her hands like that...Les certainly knew she wouldn't care to have all of that on her plate. She placed her math and science books in her backpack along with their respective notebooks. She grabbed her planner from he rlocker when Emily spoke up again.
"Want to have dinner at... well, David's place?"
Clatter. The planner fell to the floor as Olesya looked over at Emily oddly. David's place? Why would they be having dinner at David's place? ... All of her mental functions seemed to be misfunctioning because nothing in that last statement made a hint of sense.
"Yeah, strange to be eating at his place but... long story. And... it's one of the things I feel I must discuss with you."
The pillar bent down to grab her planner, straightening up and dropping it in her bag. She tried to chew this all over, still not making heads or tails of it, but Emily said that it was something she wanted to discuss with her.
"Um...sure..? I don't know where he lives though. Or..lived? Eh.."
It was clear that Olesya really didn't know what was going on. She wasn't even going to try and decipher it, because she knew that Emily would explain everything in due time. Or at least, she had better, because that was a pretty odd question to ask. She closed her locker and slung her backpack over her shoulder, her eyes on her friend

Emily wasn't surprised at all when Olesya dropped her books, she promptly knelt over to pick it up for her, but she got hold of it first.
"Um...sure..? I don't know where he lives though. Or..lived? Eh.."
Emily just smiled. "I'll take you the-"
"Miss, I finally found you!" The driver said, panting. "Shall I take you and your friend to the limousine?"
Emily backed by a step. Damn, and to think she was hoping she could walk her way there. It wasn't so hard to! Damn people wasting oil and money on expensive cars. "No!" She declined, flustered more than anything. She wasn't used to this type of treatment, and was far from getting used to it. No, she didn't want to get used to it. "I-I mean. Edmund, sir."
"Please, call me Edmund, Ma'am."
"Um... Edmund," she strained, not used to calling people as if a higher-up. "Why don't you take the car back home? We'll walk."
Emily looked at Olesya and laughed nervously, "That is unless you feel like taking a ride instead."

"I'll take you the-" "Miss, I finally found you! Shall I take you and your friend to the limousine?"
O__o
Olesya looked from Emily to the strange, uniformed man who seemed to be out of breath. It just seemed to be one surprise after another today! Blinking, she would simply watch the exchange of dialog, way past the point of making any sense of it. Then Emily addressed Olesya, asking her opinion.
"Um... Edmund, Why don't you take the car back home? We'll walk. That is unless you feel like taking a ride instead."
Taking a ride? In a limousine? To their missing pillars house? Sounds perfectly normal to me...! Hoy.. Adjusting her backpack on her shoulder, Olesya shrugged, looking from the uniformed Edmund man to Emily.
"Well I mean it's already here, it would just be wasting gas to drive back passengerless. We could ride....?"
She offered, half curious as to what this car looked like and why this butler-eque man had to remind Emily not to call him 'sir.'

"Well I mean it's already here, it would just be wasting gas to drive back passengerless. We could ride....?" Emily sighed. Well, okay? Not like she had much of a choice. 2 out of three votes said yes to the car.
She finally smiled, "Oh well." She took her messenger bag and followed after the driver, who immediately went to get the car ready. The temporary School Captain looked at her pillar and laughed sleepishly, "This is all David's doing. Apparently, besides the responsibility over the school, he passed to me his house, his finances... well, yeah. I'm not exactly very comfortable with it, to tell the truth..."
The girl opened the doors and let Olesya pass through before closing it -- one day down, an unknown amount more to go. She headed for the black limousine and sighed.
"This is why I go to school very early in the morning, "she told her, "I don't think it would be good to have rumors of me and David having... a relationship or something of the sort lurking in the hallways."
Edmund quickly came over and opened the door for the two girls, Emily mentioning for Olesya to go in first before getting inside herself. "In we go."
Inside were comfortable leather seats, a refrigerator and several other luxury items.

Olesya's eyes widened at the news of David leaving her all his things. She could understand the titleship, but man! So that explained the butler, the awkwardness, the...car? Hazel hues fell on the limousine pulled up the the curb, the junior's jaw dropping. Closing her mouth as she realized what she was doing, she pinched her arm and blinked, looking at the car.
"Good Lord, that boy must have quite the money."
She commented, not sure what to think about it. Where did he get the money? Why was he wasting his time on public school when he could attend any of the much nicer private schools in California? She hesitated a moment before climbing into the car, sliding across the black leather seats. Slipping her backpack off her shoulder, she began to investigate the interior of the car.
"This is so surreal. I don't know how you can stand it."
She looked up at her friend, pulling a bottle of champagne from the fridge with a 'wtf' look on her face before putting it back. Even if she was old enough to drink, she would feel odd drinking her old new School Captain's limo's champagne...@__@

"Good Lord, that boy must have quite the money."
"More then ten billion, he said." Emily told her as she slipped in and Edmund closed the door, quickly returning to the driver's seat and began to deal with getting home. "Ech, that's a thousand times more than the money I have... and will never use."
She shook her head, and looked outside. "This is so surreal. I don't know how you can stand it."
Emily just laughed, "If you think this is surreal, wait until you see his house." She grinned, "Would you like to spend a night? I'm not used to a big house and living alone with so much space. Kinda... disturbing... since his 'servants' are more or less tasked to protect me."
The last part was heard with a tone of annoyance. Emily disliked that part of the bargain, but not more than how she hated being spoiled like this.
Not that Emily didn't appreciate it, or find it a thing she can experience... but rather just something she wasn't comfortable with due to the implications.

Olesya nearly dropped the bottle she was holding as she returned it to the fridge. Billions?! A slur of obscenities flew through her head, and the varsity captain bit her lip to keep them from coming out of her mouth. She straightened herself up in her seat, looking around once more.
"Well, that explains the limo.."[/size]
Though one thing that Emily said crossed her mind. She was in David's house alone? Didn't he have any family to look out for him? If so, did they leave too and why would they leave everything behind them?
"Wouldn't...wouldn't his parents be there? Or...anyone?"
She asked awkwardly, fiddling with the handle of her backpack. In a way going to an empty house was less awkward than running into David's family. 'Hi I know your son/brother/nephew/grandson/whoever from high school, and now that he's gone we're coming over to his house, nice to meet you.' But still...where is David? And his family? And 10 billion freaking dollars?!

"Wouldn't...wouldn't his parents be there? Or...anyone?" Emily looked at Olesya and shook her head before her head lowering to her thighs, a faint frown on her face.
"No." she said, "Other than his servants, he's been alone. His parents are gone, just like mine." She looked at her again, and smiled. Such depressing thoughts shouldn't be entertained.
There wasn't a lot of traffic, so they arrived at the mansion pretty quickly. Edmund opened the door, and Emily slid out of the car, leaving Olesya to see the big house in all it's... what? Glory?
"Ah, this is David's house." She said, "... and apparently, where I'm going to stay for a while."

If Olesya had thought that the car was incredible, it was nothing compared to the sight that met her eyes once she stepped out onto the sidewalk. Her mouth fell open slightly as she looked up at it. Granted, she had a tall house herself, it being a converter firehouse and all, but but 6 people lived there.
"You're telling me he lives, lived, here all by himself?!"
She blinked as the butler man, who Olesya totally blanked on his name, came around to meet them. 'Let me take that for you, Miss.' He indicated of her backpack, and the pillar just kind of looked at him weird for a moment. She had seen butlers take luggage in movies, butthis was her backpack, she carried it around every day.
"I think I've got it, thanks."
She said awkwardly to him before climbing the stairs to the entrance.
"Let's see what we've got here."

"You're telling me he lives, lived, here all by himself?!" Emily nodded as she and Olesya entered the mansion. Yeah, David lived here all by himself. She visited him every now and then while he was still here -- so... it was awkward to actually live here.
Oh, the implications!
Emily didn't let the butler take her bag either. "Ah, Thanks anyways Jacques. You may take a rest for the day."
The butler bowed again and Emily looked around a bit before heading towards the hallway to the right of the stairs. "Let's head for the kitchen first, I'm a little hungry." The white-haired girl laughed a bit. "Of course, I have to talk to the David's cooks about it first... gimme a sec, kay?"
Emily would disappear into one room, leaving Olesya in a grand dining hall with several maids by the windows waiting for Emily's orders. There were paintings on the wall -- originals -- and some of them were from pretty famous painters as well.
Yup, David had it made.

"Let's head for the kitchen first, I'm a little hungry. Of course, I have to talk to the David's cooks about it first... gimme a sec, kay?"
Nodding in confoundment, Olesya watched as her friend disappeared into the giant house. She looked around the room she was in, with its high windows and its long dark stained table (for one?), to the maids standing at attention. Olesya walked over to them slowly, eying them suspiciously. They all looked at her as if waiting for an order, it was kinda spooky.
"Do you guys just stand all day?"
The maids looked shocked, and the one closest to her had her mouth shaped like an 'O', before shaking her head. "Oh heaven's no, Miss! We are here to serve, we don't 'stand around.' Is there something that you need?" The maids leaned toward her eagerly, eying her backpack. Olesya hugged the strap of her back and took a step backward.
"N-No. I'm good, thanks. I'm just - What do you do now that the house is empty?"
"The house is not empty, Master David arranged that Miss Emily inherits his estate."
"No, I mean...eh. When she's away. When he's away. Do you still stand at attention like this?"
The maids looked at her like she sprouted two heads. "No...we manage the upkeep of this house and the grounds. Are you sure we can't take that bag for you? Would you like something to drink?"
"No! Thank you!"
Olesya pleaded, rushing out of the room altogether in the direction that Emily disappeared in. She tried to follow her nose and ears to where the kitchen may be.
"Emily? Emily?? These dudes are freaking me out a little.."

"Emily? Emily?? These dudes are freaking me out a little.."
"Over here!" She called out, hearing her friend's calls.
Emily looked towards the opened door. The girl smiled and threw a chef's hat at the fellow pillar's direction. If there was anything that pleased Emily a lot about this house, was the fact that the kitchen was not only equipped with the best cooking equipment, but also was stocked with the freshest materials.
Yes, Emily enjoyed cooking.
"Great timing. I just sent David's chef to take a rest for the night." She would grin, tying her hair into a bun and putting on her own chef's hat. "These hats are funny, but awesome. I don't know why."
Emily laughed. It was typical 15-year old behavior to want to enjoy themselves, and Emily was no different. "Would you want anything specific? We can cook almost anything with the ingredients David's chefs always have."
Emily went for the refrigerator, smiling as she found a lot of the ingredients she needed already there. "We could bake some bread or some pastries... or if you want we can have some rice along with some other thing."
Emily was excited, wasn't it obvious?
