She had left a note in Linda's locker. To meet her at this address. Signed with just her first name.... Katherina. Maybe Linda would remember that was her full name, or maybe not. The blonde knew that she would come either way. It was a warm afternoon, and Kate was on the porch that lead to the ocean. On the other side of the front door. It was a nice little condo, breezy.
When Linda arrived, she'd find two faces standing outside the door. Tall buff men, body guards hired for the moment. One would lead her inside a perfectly clean building, nothing out of place or dusty. All sorts of art and classic pieces mixed in with some funky ones. Kate was a weird person with her home.
However, the back door was open, and when Linda would walk through, she'd spot Kate relaxing in a lawn chair. One of two on the back porch. A glass table was set between the two, and some... that's right, smoothies were on the table. Those emerald eyes that belonged to Kate McHallin smiled up at the other girl.
"Hi Linda..."

Linda stopped following the body guard when she saw Kate.
"Hi Linda..."
Those emerald eyes of Kate's watched the Bone Dragon make her entrance. It had been a while since Linda last saw Kate, New York I believe.
"Hello Kate. How've you been?" Linda said with excitement. She was really surprised when she found the note in her locker. It was amazing how many people she knew had moved out here to Long Beach... and all the way from New York! Linda took a seat in the open lawn chair. She kicked her feet up and laid back.
"Ahhh..."
Kate really had a nice place. It was well decorated, and comfortable. She was practically living like a queen, like a queen with body guards!

Kate smiled. Linda had been a person she had trusted fully. Not with her heart, like she had given to Jester. But rather as a friend. Despite what some people may hope with german porno and all that. The blonde smiled at her friend and relaxed for a moment. Just enjoying watching the ocean and all that.
"Life's been interesting since.... the gang..."
She had been a hard worker, handling all the background sort of things for the gang that Linda had drawn her into. Well, really Xaier had. But Linda had been one of the reasons to stay. You don't bail out on a good friend, right? And Kate was a loyal sort of person, even to this day.
"It was good to hear you were in town. I thought you'd like some smoothies and a chat."
The smoothies? One was blueberry, the other was raspberry. She really hadn't remembered what Linda liked... because they had only been there a few times together. So she went with a generalized one that she could like, either way. Linda could have her pick, and Kate would have the other.
"How have you been?"

Linda cheerfully took the raspberry smoothie after nodding to Kate in thanks.
"I've been good. You know, same old same old. I moved out here only a few weeks ago after 552 went under."
Linda took a slurp of the smoothie, allowing the raspberry flavor to swirl around her mouth as she savored it.
"You know, since I've been out here, life has been pretty good. I don't have to worry about gang crap or mob deals cause I left someone in charge of that back in the big NY. And I get royalties still so no job for me... Its kind of funny, but being out here I just feel so much cleaner. Not like dirty cleaner, but like I have a clear slate out here you know?" Linda turned to Kate again as she asked her a question.
Kate seemed to be doing quite well for herself out here in California, and she was clean. No drug trafficking, no shady dealings, just clean. Linda envied her.

A new beginning? Clean? It was hard to be clean when your soul was tainted. And would forever be tainted. There was no getting around that for Kate. Try as she might to be a saint... it would never work.
"I wish I could say the same. The moment I get here, I tried to keep things nice and easy the first time I came back home... But shit went down, things went bad... and the last member of my family died. Minus myself of course. I wandered around a bit, then came back... after the bane of my problem had died..."
From the tone of her voice it was easy to tell that she was not in fact, talking about her step mom the second time. Not in the least bit.
"I came back again, and as soon as I did... well I have guys throwing themselves at me. One at least is trying very hard..." A chuckle. Damien "And I'm already getting dragged into gang stuff around here. If you're clean now, enjoy it Linda. This will be like New York all over again soon enough"
Kate sure as hell believed it.

Like New York all over again? Oh jesus, Linda cringed at the thought.
"Well I hope your wrong Kate, I hope your wrong..." Linda said as she took another slurp of smoothie.
"Well regardless of gang stuff. Best believe I'm gonna cause trouble around here. That was something I didn't do enough of back in New York. I didn't cause enough trouble. With out trouble how's a girl supposed to have fun?"
Linda said with a chuckle, she knew that Kate would understand exactly what she was talking about. These two were usually on the same wave length with that kind of stuff.

"I'm not too sure. You hit the clubs, flirt with boys, take a few home here and there... I was looking forward to just relaxing with my millions and leave it at that."
She laughed. The blonde spoke like she was trying to retire or something. Kate smirked, taking a sip of her blueberry smoothie. The female wasn't too sure what to say here. Not at all. She just enjoyed the moment, the smoothie and the company.
"Damien Kross is back. He's going to be a headache and a half. He's going to be my biggest pain in the ass around here. Well, him and a few other guys..."
She trailed off. The girl wanted to ask a question, Kate really did. What to say, what to say...
"I hope we don't end up on opposite sides this time. I'm sure you'd win any fight in the future."
Yeah. Kate really hoped. Hoped and fucking prayed. Because Linda was much stronger than herself. By far. Leaps and bounds.

Linda chuckled at Kate's comment.
"Oh give yourself more credit. I'm sure if we ever found ourselves fighting with each other you could hold your own." She replied before taking the top off of her smoothie, and beginning to chug it.
Linda was a simple women, she did what she wanted, when she wanted. So, she just happened to want to finish her smoothie like a champ. Sure, it wasn't very lady like, but Linda doubted Kate cared about how proper her manners were.
"You know..." Linda said like she was lost in thought, "You could get stronger, if you wanted to. I mean, I could help you train and all that jazz."

While Linda chugged her smoothie, Kate sipped at hers. Of course Kate didn't care how Linda drank her drink. After all, it was Linda! The blonde had always been proper and "prim", for quite some time. And Kate knew that Linda didn't care about that any more than Kate had. However, at the thought of training, Kate grinned. Something sparked in those emerald eyes.
"You want to help me train? I do want to get stronger. I want to get better, and faster, and well... all of the above. So I'll take you up on that offer Linda my dear. Indeed I shall. Though I'm not as weak as I use to be."
It had been rather sad, back in New York. She had been so weak... but Kate had learned her lessons in life. Now she was stronger, better, faster than she had been. But weaker than she wanted to be. That much was for sure. The blonde licked her lips and smiled, taking another sip of smoothie.
"I can have the boys make you another smoothie if you want. Any flavor you like better than the rest?"

Linda smiled.
"Bring them on." She spoke threw that smile. "Oh and a lil rum would be an amazing touch, if you know what I mean." Linda chuckled again. What was there that was better than drinking with a friend? Nothing was the correct answer to that question.
Linda laid back in the chair once more.
"I'm glad you decided to take me up on my offer." She told Kate as she closed her eyes and relaxed. "There always was a reason why I kept you so close to me... and I am glad I get to finally tell you this.." Linda paused and waited for Kate to question her further.

The blonde smiled and waved one of the "boys" closer. They were not boys, in fact they were old enough to be Linda and Kate's fathers. But Kate called them her boys. This one was called One-Eye by his friends. He was a deep tan color, and shaved his head bald. There was a wicked scar running down the side of his face, and he had only one eye because of it. The blonde rattled off Linda's order, and One-Eye left to make the said smoothie. Or tell the other boy on watch to do so. Kate's attention went right back to Linda, her head tilting to the side in interest.
"A reason you say? Well, I'll take the bite. I'm interesting in as to why you did. It's actually been a question of mine!"
Kate laughed. Within a few moments, Linda would have a strawberry smoothie with rum in it.

Linda smiled
"Well you see. Ever since the day I first met you, I knew you were destined for greatness. I couldn't fully put into words exactly what it was that I saw in you... I just knew something was there. I knew that if I taught you, and showed you everything I know... You would learn from me and become even greater than I. I always kind of hoped that when the day came, and you were strong enough, you would join us Dragons." Linda finished while looking over at Kate.
It was true, ever since day one she had seen a spark in her. She knew she couldn't just tell Kate this off the bat, but now seemed like the perfect time.

Wait what? Those emerald eyes blinked at Linda a few times, not really understanding. Well, no that's not truth. Kate understood everything that Linda had just said. It was the level of shock that was still working it's way through her system. The Dragons. Kate knew about them, how could anyone in New York not? Hell, Mathew was a dragon. But Kate? Kate McHallin the... dragon? Hell if it didn't spark something inside her. She loved stuff like this. Because of the title, the power.... the power that she could and would become.
"You Mister Miyagi, me Karate Kid?"
Yeah, that was about all she could somehow manage. The blonde took a huge gulp of smoothie, trying to let herself settle about all this. Kate the dragon. Couldn't really get it out of her mind. Nor would she for some time.
"Thanks Linda."
Weird as it may seem, but it was odd for Kate to have some one who believed in her abilities like that. Or her would be abilities. It was... making her feel rather warm and fuzzy.

"No problemo Kateo." Linda said with yet another smile. Linda was too bubbly for her own good, and that was just a fact. She felt the need to change the topic of the conversation.
"Soooooooooo..." She gave a slight pause, "You wanna go shopping later? We can hit up the Neiman Marcus at the mall." Linda asked Kate in the still same cheerful tone.
OoC- Yeah its short, like a midget @_@
