Emily was awake.
Definitely awake, but she was not moving. She stared at the white ceiling and basically just laid there staring. Having absolutely no idea of what happened, all she remembered was seeing the dragon approach, slight pain, and then she gonked out.
Why?
Then the nurse told her that she had been shot at the shoulder. How can that be? When the wound is not there to prove it?
What exactly was that thing?
Shaking her head, the girl began thinking-- what now?
What's going to happen to the school?
She knew the Dragons were more than capable of protecting the school; it was just scary thinking what they might do with their new positions.
Just, what now?
Something must be done, and soon.

"Oh!" There was a young boy sitting in the corner of the room and his eyes had shot wide open as he heard the young lady stir about. There was a look of relief on his face and for now, he would be the one to make sure she was alright -- aside from the nurses coming in and out of the room itself.
"You're conscious," young Trizen said on hesitantly standing up. He walked over to the bedside slowly and stood at a good enough distance for her not to be startled. As much as the two of them barely knew each other, he figured he owed it to her and Doctor Clavering for their shared connection and kindness towards him. "How do you feel?"
The fourteen year old was not about to go off on a tangent about how he got there or who brought her there to the hospital, but he knew this place was likely much safer than school. He had never witnessed something so terrible. Not to mention he now knew how unruly 259 really. It seemed for the while, Emily would simply be Emily for the while. What she planned to do until her return at school was what worried him. Quite frankly, those Dragons were simply out of control. Why did his father place him there? What did he want from him?
"No wait," he corrected himself in a stammer, "That was a stupid question. You probably feel terrible... though thank God you're alive... we were pretty worried about you."
The answer as to who "we" boiled down to were likely going to appear in the hospital room few at a time, though he would stay just the same. As much as her friendship was new, he had good ground to trust her. If the good doctor and David Blaze could, then clearly she was good people.

"Oh!" Emily's head turned itself towards the voice slowly. It belonged to a familiar acquaintance, who seemed to have been inside the room a while. It was Trizen, the guy she had met at the rooftop with Matrim.
"You're conscious, How do you feel?"
Emily stared at Trizen for a moment, wondering how she should answer that. She was feeling a strange mix of Anger, Frustration, Satisfaction and Happiness. Though happy that she had finally lost the title, it was due to her incompetence as a fighter. Frustrated of her own inability to fight for the school...
But a loss was a loss, but that exhilarated her. The fact that someone was THAT strong.
That power was possible, then it could be possible with her.
She smiled sheepishly for a moment before Trizen broke through her daydreams. "No wait," he corrected himself in a stammer, "That was a stupid question. You probably feel terrible... though thank God you're alive... we were pretty worried about you."
"I... actually feel quite fine." She said, pulling herself up from the supine position to sit. "It's going to take more than any amount of dragons to kill me."
She flexed her left shoulder, moving it around a bit. Why, the doctors did a good job on getting it back. Wait --- "How long was I asleep?"
Actually, she was asleep for a good week.

"She should be awake now."
Yeah, he knew that already. What he wanted to know was who shot her, and the doctor, obviously not knowing what he wanted, had dodged around the question for the third time. It had been one week since David Blaze had brought the Ex Captain to the hospital, his pulse racing after realizing that it wasnt the dragon who had beaten the girl, but a gun-shot wound to the shoulder. Had he known that that was the case, he would have gone a lot faster when bringing her here. Regardless, the young Former pillar scooped his jacket, casting the doctor an irritated look before making his way back through the hospital, to the room he had specifically requested for Emily.
It was generally saved for the wealthy people in the city, and got all the best doctors.
It was the one he got after his fight with Amtrum.
He knocked on the door lightly as he entered, his eyebrows raising slightly at seeing Trizen, the boy he had spoken with in Layla's classroom many, many months before. Where had that kid been? He hadnt seen him at the Correctional Facility, but then again, there hadnt really been time to see him. Things had been so rushed...He tossed his coat down on the same chair he had been sleeping on for the past week- He had actually grown to appreciate it, since at one point he had been forced to sleep on the floor due to a cup of juice being spilled on it.
He looked a little haggard, having gotten little sleep, his worry over the girl skyrocketing.
"Hey...Bout' time your awake. We were beginning to think you had lapsed into a coma..."

"You've been out for about a week now." Trizen answered the young lady as she seemed to be gaining her bearings now.
This was all the while the former Pillar was outside talking to the doctor. The wild haired boy heard him talking, his ears were quite keen, and it was comforting to know that someone other than himself had come to visit. It had been his fourth visit to see her, the first being a coincidental moment after David had gone for food -- or something of the rather. The doctors weren't very descriptive as to who the other visitor was, but Trizen knew it had to be him. He didn't know anyone else that would visit besides Doctor Clavering, and even then he wondered if she had come to visit if they were so close.
Besides, it had been many whiles since he had spoken to David. Trizen mainly kept out of sight due to his own conscious of failing that mission David had asked of him. While he knew he would be able to explain the reason why the plan failed, he figured it was just as well he said nothing. A failed mission was a failed mission. But at the end of the day, Trizen was grateful he was alive. That place could have killed him. Should have. And he had seen some familiar things there...
"Hey... Bout' time your awake. We were beginning to think you had lapsed into a coma..."
It was him. Probably one of the most honourable guys the fourteen year old had ever met. Though he could not help but compare him to a certain Civil War hero from Marvel Comics -- except he was certain Mister Blaze would never wear red, white and blue all in one shot.
A smirk crept up on the boy's face while trying to act cool. He was never good with lying, though he was happy to see him since it was somebody who would be much more familiar with her. Besides, he didn't know what to say. He figured he would wait for now, Emily probably wanted her questions answered by someone who was in the middle of the fray.

Roses... check. Get well soon card.... check. Room number.... check. Sexellent! Linda had everything she needed.
Walking into the hospital with a proud smile on her face, the Bone Dragon entered looking for the beloved Emily. She looked down at the piece of paper in her hand, and after confirming the room number set off to find her. She walked down the hallway, trying to see past the two dozen black roses. This shit was bulky and awkward and Linda was having a hard time trying not to run into people in the hospital.
Looking up at the end of the hall, she heard voices and noticed the room that matched Emily's room number had the door open. With haste she entered the room, making sure not to bumb into anyone standing in there.
She walked over to what she saw was an open table, and set down the roses. They were all black, with a white ribbon. The vase was crystal, and had a "Get well soon!" sign posted in between the black roses. Linda had truly spent a fortune on the display, but she was happy to do it. She pulled the get well soon card out of her pocket, placing it right next to the flowers for Emily.
Linda had not been able to see who was in the room, but she assumed they were probably friends of Emily. Its always good to be surrounded by friends when your down, they make you feel all nice and fuzzy inside. When Linda finally turned around, she was shocked to see that Emily was awake!
"Uhhhh... How you feelin?" Linda asked in shock...
The girl had been knocked out for a week....

Sara sighed as she walked down the halls of the hospital. She was here on a mission... She stalked the halls silently, movements fluid and graceful, eyes searching for the doctors that could spot her, screwing her mission up... Ok no. Sara just like to think she was doing something important. She sighed, looking at the little piece of paper again. She was simply looking for someone to get an answer. She wondered if the girl would give her one. She had been given specific instructions to get an answer no matter what. Even if the answer was no, that was fine. Just as long as she got one. She glanced up, looking at the room numbers. Oh. She had passed it.
Sara backtracked a few doors and glanced in. She saw the girl in the bed. Mhm. Found her. She walked into the room, ignoring the others. They didn't concern her, her only concern was the girl lying in the bed. She had been out for a week. Shitty deal.
Sara walked past the others in the room, giving them nothing more then a passing glance. She walked right up to the side of her bed, looking down at her, smiling.
"Hi there. How you feeling? Remember me? Well I'm here to get your answer." She dropped the smile, leaning her hands on the bed. "He gave you an extension because of what happened. That extension expires in..." She glanced at her wrist sarcastically. "Ohhh... 5 minutes." She smiled wickedly. This was fun actually.

David's eyes went to the young trizen, giving him a small nod and a smile of respect for showing up to support Emily and let her see that he cared. Did him good to see he wasnt the only one...His eyes slid as roses came through the door. His eyebrows drew down slightly since he didnt see the face, though the body was a little familiar...Thats when the girl turned around. His body froze for a moment as the new School Captain spoke, then an overwhelming anger began to boil up inside him. He clenched his fists, then began to move. walking towards trizen to go around him and the end of the bed.
What the hell was the dragon doing here? To mock her?
To show her superiority?
David wasnt gonna stand for it. The female would leave, on her own or out the window didnt matter to him. He was damn pissed, and it showed on his face.
It was likely that there would be blood.

Mathew Amtrum walked in to the room, shortly after Linda, the School Captain. Hands in his coat pockets he fingered the roll of pennies he always kept in there. He was here for two reasons, to wish Emily well, as he did like her, but more importantly to watch Linda's back. She had called him and asked him if he wanted to go and see Emily, two of the new pillars coming to wish the old School Captain well.
Turning to look at Blaze he flashed him a cocky grin, now holding the title that Blaze once held. He could only assume that his presence would make the former pillar pissed, but Mathew wasn't going to be the one to start a fight, even if he would subtly nudge at the former Pillar.
"Hey, Emily. Glad to see you are up." He said with a warm grin as he placed his hand on Linda's shoulder, taking his place behind her.

"You've been out for about a week now."
"Wow, a week... I never thought I could sleep that much. Haha!"
The door then opened to reveal David, who then tossed his coat at the chair at the side of the room. He looked a little haggard, and Em concluded he might have been here for quite some time. "Hey...Bout' time your awake. We were beginning to think you had lapsed into a coma..."
Emily smiled, "It's going to take more than a beating to comatose me." She said, hoping to reassure her comrade of her state of health. Yeah, she was quite fine now. Emily was able to move freely, though her body tells her she might be needing a few more days before she would be discharged.
The door opened again, and black roses greeted the girl's eyes. Why, it was Linda: a most unusual guest -- however, unwelcome in David's eyes. The bone dragon placed the black flowers right next to a few more common bouquets right at the side of her bed. Whoah, flowers? She just noticed it.
It kinda touched her that some people would care.
"Uhhhh... How you feelin?"
Emily opened her mouth to speak, only to stop when she saw David clench his fist.
"David, please. Calm down."
Then another girl came in. What was this, a party? "Hi there. How you feeling? Remember me? Well I'm here to get your answer. He gave you an extension because of what happened. That extension expires in... Ohhh... 5 minutes."
"Tell him no, and Linda... " she turned towards the Dragon, "I'm touched that you'd bring me flowers, but what brings you here?"

Linda smiled at both Emily and David. Truth be told, she loved seeing David's frustration. The look he was giving her was killer, it was hot... it was exactly what Linda wanted. Emily on the other hand, Linda hoped would recover soon. She had seen something of interest in the girl as they fought, and though their conflict was brief, it was memorable.
"Tell him no, and Linda... I'm touched that you'd bring me flowers, but what brings you here?"
Linda gave Emily her full attention, as she relaxed when she felt Mathew's hand on her.
"Well I felt I should bring you flowers since I'm the reason why your in here." Linda never really had a way with words, she always just kind of said what was on her mind, blunt as it may be.
"I figured it was only right that we," Linda said looking over her shoulder to Mathew, "paid our respects to the ones we replaced." Linda concluded with a carefree smile.
"I'll do my best to protect the school, don't worry."

Things had gotten awkward pretty quickly. Whether or not Trizen fully understood why everyone chose to see Emily on this day was more puzzling to him than anything else. It was seven days later after all.Who in their right mind would check in on someone seven days after they've been shot? Bluntly said, namely the ones involved in such a situation. Why'd they show up anyways? To gloat? It was harder to tell with Miss Osako, but the other two seemed like they had other motives. Other plans. Whatever they were, it certainly didn't make David any happier about anything. His fists were clenched and his vibe suddenly changed. Emily already said her bit, but maybe...
"Please Mister Blaze," Trizen had said under his breath. He was on his way to pass the young boy, though Trizen stepped in front of him in hopes of subtly blocking the path, "... not here. Not in the hospital."
The kid kept it short, but of course there was more to say. Or was there. Sometimes the simplest movement said enough. David had his fists clenched, I'm sure that would have driven the message home.
As Emily asked her set of questions and answered questions, he too was curious as to why the Dragons would be in the room. They had to answer carefully, that was certain enough.

David glared at the two dragons, his eyes picking up the young Trizen who was standing in his way. He wasnt going to stand for this. Emily may be fine with it, But David saw this as nothing but a mockery. They were here to show theyre "dominance", if one could call it that. It was all the Former pillar could o to stand in theyre presence. His fire-filled eyes, bright with a passion that none in this room could understand, glanced at the boy in his way, then over at Emily. He wasnt sure what the female who had entered meant when she asked for an answer, but it didnt really matter to him. His chest felt hot with disgust as he spoke, his words bitter.
"I'll be in the waiting room if you need me."
With that, he gave Mathew a look of "Touch her and see what happens" and left, brushing by Trizen and the other girl as he walked out of the room, unable to stand being around the two Dragons any longer, both, in his eyes, being utter disgraces to both the name "Dragon" and the title of pillar.

Unlike David, Emily was feeling no sort of contempt from this rather weird visit from Mathew and Linda. She glanced at the black flowers at her side and looked down.
Were they wishing her death?
Ha. As if that would happen. Death escaped Emily more than love. Looking at Linda, Emily thought she might not have known the meaning of these flowers. "Well I felt I should bring you flowers since I'm the reason why your in here."
"I figured it was only right that we," Linda said looking over her shoulder to Mathew, "paid our respects to the ones we replaced."
"Paid your respects?" Emily then laughed, "That almost sounds as if I'm dead or something." She was trying to make a joke, as of course, she was more or less feeling awkward. She could understand why David felt that much contempt, only Emily was able to control her feelings a lot more.
"I'll do my best to protect the school, don't worry."
"... and I'll do my best to catch up with you." Emily told the woman, then glanced at Mathew. "Both of you."
Emily then proceeded to get the IV out of her arm. She did it carefully, since she knew how tedious it was to get these things in. She was conscious now, so she wouldn't need intravenous nourishment.
It seems as if she was already back to normal.
But... her eyes were different now. Emily's determination was showing, even through her speech. She was determined to one day show what she can do.
Dragons are not the only mythical creatures worth fearing.

Linda smiled.
"Oh dear I think you have the wrong idea. I simply didn't like the other colors, and found black to be more neutral, and as for our respects, we simply wish you well." The Bone Dragon smiled. Linda could understand how her intentions could be misconstrued, but she did what she wanted, and acted as she pleased.
Linda turned to Mathew.
"Should we leave now? I'm beginning to think we should!" She giggled as she asked Mathew then tossed in her two cents. Linda could tell that she was agitating David just by being here, but she didn't care. Hell, for all Linda cared, he could be paralyzed in the bed next to Emily. Oh now wouldn't that have been a sight...
