Sara closed her locker door and headed outside. She had decided to skip the next class. There was nothing going on and she could better spend the time studying or doing homework. So she picked up her bag which she had left at her feet and walked down the short hall to the door. She was glad her locker was so close to the exit. That made skipping easier.
She pushed through the door and walked outside. It was cool and cloudy. It wasn't supposed to rain or anything, but the sun wasn't going to come out much either. She liked that, it reminded her of being back home. She wasn't a fan of the sun, and it was nice to have a cloudy day every now and again.
Sara's gaze searched the nearly empty courtyard, and she headed towards the benches. She was glad it was quiet. She might actually get some work done today. She dropped her bag onto the table and slid onto the seat, as she unzipped it. She reached in and pulled out a drink, opening it and taking a long chug. She was thirsty. This sucked. At this rate, her drink would be gone in less then 10 minutes. She sighed, putting it on the table, and looking at the books in her bag. She really didn't want to do this. Maybe she should set up a time schedule for this... starting with breaks~

Pine made his way to math class, his third class of the day. He looked at his timetable and then at the number on the door. They matched but for some reason there was a group of students standing outside the door. Pine looked at the time and then at the students and wondered why they were not in the class. He ventured closer to one of the groups and eavesdropped on the conversation. Considering no one knew who he was, the task was made all the easier.
"Look at that poor bastard in there stuck with the supply teacher." Said one of the male students.
"Yeah, he should have ducked out like the rest of us when he had the chance." Said another.
"It's all just review for the quiz we have next week anyways, it isn't like we're missing anything." Said a who was leaning against a locker not three feet from where Pine stood looking at his timetable.
So it turned out Pine did not have a class to go to. Without the actual teacher there today there was no point in even entering the room. It wasn't like the sub would know what to do with him anyways. Pine was a little far behind to do review for a quiz anyways. Folding up the schedule and placing it in his pocket, Pine walked off. The courtyard would he his destination for the period. There he could just sit and relax until the next class started. Today was turning out to be a really good day.
In the courtyard Pine made his way over to the benches and took a seat on one. Pulling out the book 'The art of war' he engaged himself in some quiet reading. Until a shadow appeared over his book. Pine looked up to see some six foot hero and his bunch of goons standing behind him. Pine closed the book and waited until the leader said something.
"These are our benches you want to sit here you need permission." The boy said looking down at Pine with a smirk.
Pine simply sighed and got off the bench. He slowly moved past the boys and onto another area of benches to the left. He was stopped yet again by the boys annoying voice. "Those are ours too. See that door down there everything from this bench to those doors is ours. Got me?"
Pine just shrugged in reply and turned around. There was really only one more bench in the yard he would venture sitting on and it was occupied by a girl. Pine rolled his eyes and made his way over to the bench.
"'scuse me? Would you mind...If I sat here? Apparently those benches are off limits to me. I...I promise not to bother you. I only wish to read my book."

Sara otherwise ignored everything going on around her. She occasionally glanced up, watching a group of thugs torment some poor kid, but that wasn't her problem. And she didn't feel like taking on a group of people, so she didn't jump in. If it had been one guy... She might have. She had pulled out a book, and had attempted to read some of it, but it wasn't working, so instead she just sat back stared at the marked up table top. She tended to lose herself when she got like this. She was bored, and she just let her imagination take her away. She got to the point that she was pretty much oblivious to everything going on around her.
She thought about cooking, cleaning, shopping... All the stuff that needed to be done. Maybe she should make a list? Lists always helped... They made her feel good... But they also made her feel like a nerd. But look at her! She was no nerd... Was she?
"'scuse me? Would you mind...If I sat here? Apparently those benches are off limits to me. I...I promise not to bother you. I only wish to read my book."
She jumped. She hadn't heard or seen him coming. Wow... That was weird. She looked up to see who was talking to her. It was the kid those guys had been hassling. She stared at him. He sounded so... Shy... and sweet... O______O So cute~ Sara tended to have a soft spot for kids like that. Even more so now that she was in this screwed up school.
"Ya... Ah, no problem. That's fine." She pulled her books over so he had some room. "Umm... I'm Sara, I don't think I've seen you around...?"

~Awww look you made the little thing jump. Isn't that just so cute! NOT!~ The little voice inside his head said in great amusement.
~Shut up I want a place to sit you stupid little annoyance.~ Pine thought back.
~So why didn't you just smash the leaders face in and send the group one their way?~ The voice questioned.
~I'm not that person anymore. He died with the rest of the demons.~ Pine replied in a slightly agitated state of mind.
~HA! The demon is still there waiting for you to release him. Who are you kidding?~ The voice retorted.
Pine saw no reason to continue on with the argument. The fact was he had yet again lost to the little voice in his head. Instead of continuing to mentally argue with it he decided to focus on the girl in front of him. She was rather cute. Brown hair, some sort of brownish eyes, small, small....Yeah. The rest Pine couldn't really tell considering she was sitting down. What Pine did know was she was easy to scare. Should he approach the girl again, he would do so from the front.
The girl moved over her books so there was room for Pine to sit. He nodded his head in thanks and took a seat on the bench. The girl mentioned her name was Sara and attempted to make conversation. Pine could easily just ignore the girl but considering she was going out of her way to accommodate he would talk. Even if it really wasn't his style. Turning to face the girl, he spoke.
"My first day...was yesterday. Interesting school...this place is. My name is Pine by the way. Like the tree. It is nice to meet you Sara." Pine extended his hand in the conventional handshake greeting. Whether or not Sara excepted the hand was a matter unto her.

(( OOC - Small what? =_= XDD >3 ))
Sara watched him closely. He seemed to be debating something. She was seeing a pattern here. The people who looked like they were arguing with themselves, were usually nuts... She wondered if it was going to be the same thing here. But then he seemed to come back, his eyes focusing on her. She smiled at him encouragingly as he nodded at her and took a seat.
"My first day...was yesterday. Interesting school...this place is. My name is Pine by the way. Like the tree. It is nice to meet you Sara."
He extended his hand to her. Well, wasn't he polite? She gave a little laugh and grabbed his hand in hers, turning her body to face him, her large chest pushing against her tank top ((OOC - sorry, had to throw that in >_>")). "Pine? That's an interesting name." She gave a small smile, letting him know that she meant that in the nicest of ways. "And ya, I'm kind of new as well, I've only been here a few months. It is a pretty screwed up school..." She gave an anxious laugh. She had been in so many fights so far, it was amazing she was still alive.
But she was keeping him wasn't she? She sighed, turning away from him again. "But... I'll let you get to reading. Sorry." She gave him one last smile and dropped her head again. Ok, maybe she was playing the feminine card a little... She was bored, she kind of hoped he wanted to talk to her. But if he wasn't interested, she wouldn't push it.

(OOC: No worries...I was was only referring to stature. 5'2 compared to his 5'8. Good to know she has a huge chest though. Feel free to flaunt all you want though I really don't mind ;D)
So Pine introduced himself to the Sara. She did actually take his hand and when she did Pine was awarded a surprise. Her chest was actually much larger than it seemed from her bent over position. He watched them bounce against the tank top as she laughed. Pine for once was actually thankful his jaw was stiff or it might have dropped in surprise. He really did not expect that. His eyes had widened a bit but because of his bangs she would not notice. If Sara moved in he would quickly revert back to his usually stern gaze.
"Pine? That's an interesting name." Sara replied and gave a little smile. Truth be told he did not mind the laughter had it been directed at his name or not. It was something one usually got used to when they had such a unique name. Yet she made no move to make fun of him or anything so he assumed she was the good-natured sort.
"Parents were...New Aged Hippies...Not advantageous to me at all." He replied to her comment about his name being interesting.
What caught his attention was when Sara mentioned the school was screwed up. Pine wondered what she could mean by that. Sure the students were overall assholes and many did not like him, but it couldn't be that bad. Could it?
"But... I'll let you get to reading. Sorry."
Pine was not an expert when it came to women at all. Not in the least. He was however a big brother and that did have some perks. For example noticing when someone either wanted attention or wanted to be left alone. Sara's last comment was more or less a cry for attention. He rolled his eyes and leaned back on the bench. He pushed the bangs away from his eyes so he could see clearly and she could see his blue/greens. It was kind of his way of saying 'I am comfortable enough around you for some reason to talk openly.'
"This book...The Art of War as it is called...Is...Is rather boring. Please....Tell me more about the school. I am interested to learn about what I got myself into." His tone and the look in his eyes were both of a pleading nature. Pine was essentially willingly playing into her hand to gain some information. Then again, it never hurt to have another friend. This one would fit nicely into his growing collection.

Sara glanced at him out of the corner of her eye. She missed his eye roll, but noticed him lean back on the bench. Seemed he was going to talk to her some more. ~Yes~ She loved being female. A small smile touched her lips.
"This book...The Art of War as it is called...Is...Is rather boring. Please....Tell me more about the school. I am interested to learn about what I got myself into."
She turned to look at him. He had pushed the bangs out of his eyes, almost as if saying he was comfortable. That was good, she liked that. She turned her body to face him, thinking about how to answer him. "I've never heard of that book before..." She sighed, taking another second. She figured she should start small for the thing about the school. Just give him the gist of it.
"Everyone here is psycho, they'll fight on the drop of a dime." She smiled. Problem was, she was turning into one of those people. She had been here long enough now that she knew how the game was played. If you wanted to survive in this school, you did what everyone else did. You fought. "It's pretty bad... Been in many fights yet?" She grinned mischievously.

Pine could understand Sara not knowing about the Art of War. It was a common book but it suited only certain tastes. What Pine did not understand was how she could complain about how nuts the school was and smile. Generally unless you liked to fight you did not smile at the thought of fighting. If you liked to fight then you should have read or at least know of the book. It was the oldest and most referred to book when it comes to any type of combat.
When Sara asked if he had done any fighting Pine knew this conversation could go one of two ways. It was either leading up to a challenge or she just really wanted to know. The Pine that was in control at the moment could not answer that question properly. His purogative was co-existence not combat. So instead of trying to tackle the question he allowed the original Pine to step up and play.
Pine straightened his back and cracked his neck before looking at Sara. A small vicious smile crossed his lips. His left hand reached up and outlined the scar on his face as he spoke.
"You don't get these by playing nice with people. I have fought more times than I can count. Here at this school, I....Have no interest in fighting. I have spilled enough blood to last me a lifetime. I see no reason to dirty my hands the blood of the students here.." Pine looked back that the students that had removed him from the bench. The demon did nothing to show his intention of attacking them. To do so would remove him from the driver seat to be replaced by that pacifist reject.
"Unless you're challenging me." Pine said with a wink and a smile before leaning back on the bench. "Though personally, I was just looking forward to a conversation with a pretty girl on a bench."
