"Well at least it's not a boarding school with a hundred other girls attending, though it is a little low-quality if you look at it long enough..."
This coming from a girl who lived in a motel room, not even a hotel, but a motel room even when she had the choice to live in practically anything else she wanted according to her bank account. The lovely figure of Maxwell Parker stood before the high-school branded 259 as the young lady took a closer look at the school. Max had never been to any sort of school before and never learnt in any different way, public, private, home, the only school she had ever attended was a boarding school somewhere around Europe. She had never been to Junior High or Elementry, but now she was trying to enroll herself into a high-school. Err, already enrolled, here Max was trying to think over whether she wanted to stay at this school or not. It seemed interesting, and was closer to the motel she lived at then all the high-end P.H.S's around Long Beach, Cali.
Max, standing in a pair of tight blue jeans with the sleeves rolled up to her mid-calve and a soft pink blouse that left her tummy and arms uncovered and exposed to the cool breezes, stepped inside the main hallway of the school which welcomed her right after she stepped through the doors. Her long brunette hair was left out straight as ever, floating down on her shoulders, as her jade gaze fell over the school. "It needs a little bit of glitter here and there, but I think it'll make due." She spoke to herself, Max, over the pink blouse that didn't exaclty look brand new, wore a nice thin leather jacket which stopped about an inch from her waist and there were zippers off the cufflinks. She looked around, not really sure what time of day it was in the school, whether it was period or lunchbreak or she was fifty minutes early, she was just curious about the school. Honestly Max just wanted to grab a spunge, mop, and a few paintbrushes and make the school over but maybe the other students liked it the way the school was. Max thought twice about other people's opinions and feelings about the school so she wouldn't throw a few g's at the founder for permission to make it look like some special Academy or something.
"Well I guess I'm down to this decision, stay or leave...that's a good moment of thought, yep, I think I've made up my mind! No use walking for three hours around the city trying to find another school to attend to, and I've already enrolled...say, where's the office?"

Lunch, how wonderful a period that was. You could basically go where ever you wanted, and do whatever you wanted as long as you didn't break any rules or get caught. As usual, Aureus ate alone in the very back of the school. He didn't like the hustle and bustle of the lunch room and didn't even have to put up with it because of the fact that he brown bagged it. And the lunch therein was always his favorite. Turkey and swiss on wheat and some orange juice. It was healthier than the pizza and soda most students ate and was more than enough to get him through the day.
Unfortunately the period ended and the Freshmen would have to get to his fourth period class, Art. Now, this word was used pretty limitedly as the school's idea of art was painting, drawing, and crafts. For some fucked up reason Freshmen couldn't take Creative Writing or Photography. Either would have interested Aureus more than his forced subject did, and he would have to talk to the principal about switching.
With a simple push the large door opened, allowing the dark haired student access to Building one, Floor one. As he made his way down the hallway, the sound of his dark blue jeans swishing against each other could be heard if one listened closely enough. The hall wasn't that crowded because Aureus had finished lunch early and began his trip to the predetermined classroom...early.
He was a bit surprised when a gang of four Sophomores came around the corner and walked, loudly, towards a lone girl. "Hey sexy! How 'bout we show you around? Don't be worried, we're lotsa fun." The student in the middle said with a wink. Jesus Christ...they're even worse than me. Those idiots have no idea how to attract a fine lady. Levi said to Aureus mentally. For once I agree with you, however, it's none of our business. I'm sure the lady can handle herself. Ya know, I haven't figured out why you're so cold. With a glance towards the group Aureus saw that the boys were getting a bit 'touchy-feely' with the girl. He would have, should have, continued on, but something told him to wait. Rather annoyed with himself, Aureus stopped about 15 feet away and waited for something to happen.

"Hey sexy! How 'bout we show you around? Don't be worried, we're lotsa fun."
Lunchtime is short lived for Vincent today. Mostly because he stayed in his class for just about the whole lunch period to finish an assignment given to him in class. He got a pretty good verbal beating because of his staying, but that was okay for now. When it happens every day is when it becomes a problem.
The remainder of lunch was spent on his feet, going to his next class. While he walked he ate his lunch; Ham and cheese with Mayo on white bread, a large fuji apple, and a bottle of water.
Vincent rounded a corner and viewed a sight he didn't like. Four sophmores were 'hitting' on a freshmen girl. From what Vincent could tell thte girl wasn't liking it very much, but Vincent didn't have a very good view seeing how he was standing behind the group of sophmores and the girl. Vincent is usually nutural about things not his problem, but this was one of those things he doesn't like at all. So he took his stand.
"Hey! whats wrong with you guys? Can't you tell that this girl doesn't want some stranger feeling on her? Or are you just that stupid."
It was very apparent how socially 'dunce' Vincent was by listening to how he said his words. His outward expression isn't exactly smooth, but at least he tries to get his point across. Worst case; the girl wants to be hit on and such, but Vincent wasn't thinking about that. He just didn't like how they were treating the girl. Like some object to call their own. The main point was Vincent was ready to fight against what he thought was wrong.
\\:occ: Shoot! short post!! I should make it longer... edit: Okay, it's a bit better now. :end post://

"I'll catch up with you guys in a minute, I'm going to stop at my locker first."
The dark haired girl called with a wave to a small group of Freshmen she'd been sitting with, who were looking at her curiously as she left the cafeteria. To be perfectly honest, Chi had a headache from all the noise, she was going to her locker though, for some aspirin. She was dressed quite school chic, as she usually did during school hours: A blue and gray plaid pleated mini, white blouse with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows (the top button undone around her neck of course, so it was more casual than nerdy), a matching blue and gray tie hanging loosely about her neck, and of course stylish black maryjanes to finish it off. Her long dark hair was pulled back loosely in a blue hair ribbon, long tresses falling over her right shoulder.
She turned the corner, and instead of finding her locker, she saw quite a scene taking place. A girl, she looked new because Chi had never seen her before, and she just had that 'new kid' look in her eyes, being vagrantly harrassed by a few older boys who seemed to be taking advantage of her new school naivete. Another boy, younger, seemed to be trying to defend her, but his argument was a little weak. Chi sighed, approaching the lot of them, a small saunter in her step. She entered the awkward conversation in a way that she was positioned halfway between The boys and the new girl. Yay intervention.
"I see you boys have found my friend. There doesn't seem to be a problem here, is there?"
She asked casually, with a quirk of an eyebrow as if to challenge them to say otherwise. She may be slight statured, but she did have a reputation. Those who found themselves on the wrong side of Chihiro Amuri tended to have small accidents, if you know what I mean. The unfortunate boy who once grabbed at her at a school dance came to school the next day with three broken fingers, and that was only because she'd let him off easy. She made be a known flirt, but she had a limit. And now it seemed these guys were trying to start something with this girl, and despite not knowing her, or particularly caring about the situation, these buffoons had probably caught her off guard, and that just wasn't nice. And besides, they were in front of her locker.

"Hey sexy! How 'bout we show you around? Don't be worried, we're lotsa fun."
An over-cocky young male's voice spoke, Max could hear the light footsteps approach her as a couple of students came forward. She didn't think they were freshmen, out of what she heard about high-school students, the freshmen were the kids who listened to their teachers, tried to get to class on time and finish their homework by the end of the week, the nice guys who did bad things only in the background so Max gave a mental shrug; she didn't believe these fiends were freshies, probably upperclassmen, you'd think if she hadn't had about three years of boarding school and then a few years and months of training various things, dances, acrobatics, that she'd probably be younger then the four rude guys approaching her but she was about their age. Afterall, they couldn't be any older then fifteen.
Max exhaled angrily, clenching her fists but then releasing them to let the blood start flowing, just incase these guys were looking for trouble, she hoped not. Max wasn't a violent person, she'd rather negotiate then fight, right? Definatley! That was Max's strong point, she didn't get mad at anyone, and she'd probably help a guy running from the police for a veeery bad thing he did if she didn't think twice about it, or probably if she did think twice about it. If he asked her nicely she would most likely help an escape-convict get away from the police if she had the ability to. Max gave a mental shrug, if there was one thing she didn't want was violence, especially involving her. "Heh...maybe another time, I think I'll be able to find my way around myself, afterall - how hard can it be? Just a school, right? --" "Or not right." Max whimpered, feeling a hand move onto her shoulder and trail down near her elbow, it belonged to one of the boys. Keeping mentally intact with her physical body, she felt the hand move closer to her waist and defensively budged, making the boy withdraw it.
"Teenaged boys can be so poluted with perverted thoughts sometimes." Max thought to herself, but the actions of these boys didn't affect her view of men in general, not everyone was alike, she still had a special place in her heart for one single man that she may or may not stumble upon in her future life and she always would have that open place until she found that man, no matter what happened today between her and these four jerks. Max's little comment, smile, and everything else a girl in this situation might do if she didn't know what else to do would, but the boys seemed to be getting closer. And not just one of them this time. All of them! Max was really hoping for a miracle right about now, the boys were getting physically introduced already though, but luckily their hands weren't moving anywhere that would make Max get a little bit sensitive, though the outcome of the scene if they had would be simply Max screaming her head off, whapping one of them with the side of her hand and running out of the school cursing it and saying she'd never return again, pretty much . . . More footsteps,
"Hey! whats wrong with you guys? Can't you tell that this girl doesn't want some stranger feeling on her? Or are you just that stupid."
MY MIRACLE! Max's expression changed from dreadfully worried sick to a half-smile, there was a mental dance going on in her head right now and she practically celebrating as the boys withdrew their hands from her body. She sighed with relief, quietly though, so the boys wouldn't turn back to irritate her. Max couldn't see past the taller students shoulders on who the heroic voice had come from, but she was thankful, though after the cocky, annoying students had had a glance they went back to flirting with her as if some wimp had just shouted his mouth off at them and it didn't mean anything. Max had become nearly insecure, but she was wearing a very large nervous smile, "Heh...who would've said that, huh?" She asked, trying to stall them in conversation,
"Doesn't really matter. Where were we again?" One of the rude youngsters was grinning wickedly at Max, she felt the festivel in her head cease and mines exlpode repetively as she gripped her hands together trying to get a grip on some time and on herself. "We were about to ... say goodbye! Part ways! And did I mention, you guys were going to go see what was on your ... um ... scheludes!"
"There's only one thing on our schelude today, honey, and that's--"
"I see you boys have found my friend. There doesn't seem to be a problem here, is there?"
"Hurray for disturbances! I'm saved!" Max cheered to herself and the mental dance started in her head once again as a cute girl, probably her age, probably not, probably one who disliked being called 'cute' by other girls though Max couldn't help but think she looked like a teddy bear, came between Max and the four boys who were nearly scaring Max now and she could've wished for that baby blue blanket that so many characters in movies and stories had to cheer them up or calm them down when they got hysterical or scared. The girl spoke, "I see you boys have found my friend. There doesn't seem to be a problem here, is there?"
"Huh...wha-? I don't know her, we're not fr- MY SAVIOR!" Max guessed that of course she didn't know the girl, and the young lady didn't know her, but in any case she was just trying to defend Max and Max was thankful for that. A few moments later, Max heard a little pattern of quiet moans and cussing, Max couldn't see past the girl's sholder, just her lovely black hair, so she didn't know whether the boys were retreating or not. She was hoping that they were retreating but -- not wanting to invade on the scene which had actually started off with her -- she didn't move to see what was going on actually, yet.
OoC: Aw =) I've never had this many replies to a topic before that I've started, you guys are the best =) *gives pink teddy bears to everyone*

Soon enough a few more people arrived on the scene and tried to intervene. *sigh* See, she's fine now. But I still don't like those guys. Do I have to take over, or are you going to kick their asses? It'd be a waste of time... Were the conflicting thoughts of the Freshmen. Although he never spoke of it, Aureus had issues with people who mistreated women. Even though his mother had abandoned him, he still loved her more than anything and as he grew older became very protective of girls. Whether he knew them or not. Unable to talk himself out of it, the dark haired boy pushed off the locker he was leaning on and made his way towards the small group. A girl he didn't know had basically told them off, but the Freshmen felt they were getting off a bit too easy.
With each step the look in his eyes grew fiercer. After a few moments, Aureus reached them and stopped just to left of his first target. In an instant he threw out his right arm and struck one boy on the side of his head, sending him into his friends. "Who the fuck are you?! You'll pay for that, Freshmen!" The leader shouted before advancing with his friends towards Aureus. Their first attack was pretty lame. Two boys each punching at his face. The Freshmen ducked and sent his fists into the solar plexus of both Sophomores. Too easy. Before he attacked, Aureus saw one of them slip behind him. With that in mind he continued by rushing backwards, tackling the third boy into a locker. The leader was still standing and took advantage of Aureus' split attention span by throwing a punch that found it's mark on his nose. It was a clean hit and succeeded in giving the Freshmen a bloody nose. Unfortunately for the leader, it would take more than that to stop Aureus. The blow caused him to cringe and stumble back. Seeing this, the sophomore wanted to try his luck again and rushed the schizo. Hearing, and expecting such an attack, Aureus fell to the side and threw his leg out, tripping the leader who's head slammed against a locker.
After he was finished, the dark haired boy checked to make sure his nose wasn't broken, looked at the two girls and the boy that had called out, and then began to walk off...

((ooc: eeeeeeeeeee, pink! ^_^ *huggles teddy bear* Muchos Gracias!))
Chi smirked, well, at least she had made them doubtful of their motives as the sophmores shuffles their feet, their mouths opening and closing like ish out of water. She had to admit this was kind of amusing, but she noticed the burlier of teh boys was regaiing his composure. Best to end this now. Opening her mouth, she intended to tell the twerps to bug off when out of nowhere a new guy appeared, fists flailing. Instinctively she held out her arm, pushing the girl back a few steps as they were right on the outskirts of it.
"Sorry, but we might not want to be this close.."
She appologized to the girl, her eyes glued to the fight. Now was that truly necessary? She had almost effectively diffused the bustle when this dark haired boy jumpe din. Who was he anyway? She didn't recognize him either. Taking advantage of the boys distraction, she turned to the new girl, nodding with a small grin.
"I'm Chihiro by the way. Sorry to step in like this, but it looked like you could have used some help. Apparently this guy thoughts so too.."
She said with a half-smile/half-smirk, glancing back at the brawl. And about at fast as it started, the fight was over, the over-eager sophomores lay moaning all over the place, and one of them leaning against a slightly dented locker (her locker!? ugh..) and cluthcing his head. Then, without a word, the dark haired boy looked at them and walked off. Just like that. Where were his manners? She wondered. She placed a hand on her hip, a sly expression on her face as she called after him.
"Felling pugnacious today, are we? Or were you simply coming to the rescue of poor, defenseless females without so much as telling us your name?"
She asked, the confidently casual tone still in her voice. She had to admit it tweeked her a bit for some guy to just jump in and then leave without so much as a 'hello.' It gave her the feeling that he thought they couldn't handdle themselves, which meant she couldn't handle herself, which is one of the worst insults anyone could deal her. Nothing bothered her more than men thinking that women were weak, period. It was sexism, and it was stupid. But perhaps this boy was simply being a loner/good samaritan...who just beat up a bunch of guys. At least for his sake he better be, or that nose of his might find itself really broken. ^_^

Hearing a voice call out to him from behind, Aureus turned to see a rather spunky looking girl. Wow, hot and controlling. I like that. Oh for the love of fuck, would you quit with that? Wasn't pounding those bastards enough to keep you content for a few minutes? Nope, you should know that by now. *sigh* "Aureus. And don't take it personally." He said simply before stopping against a locker and pulling the black zippo from his pocket. He had a feeling this girl had a few choice words she'd like to say to him, and if it'd make her feel better he'd let her talk all she wanted. From the way she spoke, it was as if she though he only trounced the Sophomores because he thought she and the other girl were weak. How far from the truth that was...
As he waited for her reply, The freshmen flicked the lighter on and off, on and off. He had always loved the sight of fire, ever since he was young. That didn't mean he was a pyro or anything though. He didn't burn down old houses just to see them reduced to ashes. The only thing he ever lit up was playing cards, other than that he just stared at the flame.

"Sorry, but we might not want to be this close.."
Said the shorter lady before Max, the one who had come in defense of her, and just then Max realized the girl pushing her backward with her arm from the scene. "I guess something's going on...though I'm not a baby!" Max thought to herself, she didn't assume the girl was rude though, matter-of-fact, this girl was pretty nice and Max guessed she just didn't want her to get hurt; though Max still felt a bit left out though because she was fully capable of taking care of herself. She didn't mind that much though, just a bit.
"I'm Chihiro by the way. Sorry to step in like this, but it looked like you could have used some help. Apparently this guy thoughts so too.."
Max laid her jade gaze on Chihiro. Gosh, people were nice, apologizing for helping Max from sinking in her clothes like a poodle in a deep puddle, she smiled at Chihiro. "Oh, no sweat! Thanks so much, Chihiro -- hmm?" She turned her attention towards the little fight between the four upperclassmen and then some other guy, Max assumed he was a freshie and she assumed he was beating them up on her behalf. After the little fight Max noticed the guy had a bloody nose, and immediately reacted, "Oh dear...hanky! Hanky! Hanky!" Max thought to herself quickly, searching through her pockets from every single garment she wore for a hankercheif she could offer him to wipe his nose.
She hated to see people injured, especially because of her, if none of these guys came along Max would've been cold in her boots fretting over high-schools and never wanting to walk near one again, and now seeing that someone had gotten a bloody nose, she quickly made assumtions it was because of herself, she was desperate for a hankercheif or a tissue or something to give to him to clean himself. While in her little pocket-spree, Max didn't hear Chihiro speak to the boy from their distance, she didn't even notice him starting to walk away.
"Aureus. And don't take it personally."
Max heard the guy say. When she looked back up with a little hankercheif that she kept spare in her left pocket of her leather jacket in hand, she saw Aureus standing a few feet from her and Chihiro, she didn't notice the lighter in his hand, just the blood. She approached slowly, hanky in her right hand, passing Chihiro, and then stopping in her tracks about two feet from Aureus, she extended the hand with the piece of cloth in it and ushered it towards him. "Here, sir...um...Aureus, your bleeding." She spoke softly in her mother-like voice, soft and caring, she held her hand out for a while and really hoped Aureus would take the hankercheif to clean his nose. Max hated blood, she hated to see people hurt, she didn't care what his intentions were when he beat those guys up, they were still all lying around on the floor, but Max did want him to get rid of the crimson liquid on his face.
It was only a bit but best to be neat right? -- "Or opposite of my living quarters." Max thought to herself, she didn't even notice the lighter in his hand or the flames peeking out of it, she just held her hand out waiting for him to take the hankercheif, if he would.

Dark eyes watched as the mystery bow turned back toward them, giving a casual introduction, and then presented a lighter and began fiddling with it. Oh so suave, Chi almost snorted, but that would have been quite rude. A slight warm smiled crossed over the girl's face as the new girl offered him a tissue for his nose. This new girl seemed kind of nice, she was glad she had stepped in instead of just going on her way. Nice girls don't deserve brutish imbeciles to harrass them. She should know, she used to be nice like that...once. She twisted the charm bracelet around her left wrist, eyebrow quirk rising a bit in a confused kind of look.
"Who said anything was taken personally? I just simply found it odd that you'd jump in and beat up a bunch of upperclassmen and then went disappear without so much as a word."
She shrugged casually, glancing from him to the new girl and at the boy who'd first yelled at the sophomores. He was being rather quiet following such an outburst, she noted thoughtfully.

OOC: I don't wanna bump Vince, but he's slow and I wanna post, so oh well.
IC: He had been staring at the flame for a few moments before he noticed the new girl was offering him a handkerchief for his nose. Oh, I almost forgot about that. The Freshmen thought before taking the cloth and wiping his nose, than tilting his head back to stop any more blood from leaking out. "Thank you." He said kindly after he had finished. Hearing the shorter girl speak, he turned to reply. "I don't like to see women mistreated." He said with a weird sort of edge to his voice. "And pardon me, I just thought I heard a hint of annoyance in your previous question." Aureus added, his tone switching back to normal.
Sure, at this point he could have asked their names, but he didn't want to get personal with these girls. He preferred to be alone, and the more people that knew him, the more they'd be around him. And the more he'd risk having a connection with them. Levi could have all the connections he wanted, as long as they didn't know he was the same person as Aureus. It was just how he was.

((ooc: Sorry but no one's posted in this thread in a while and I wanted to keep it from dying, so don't hurt me >.<))
I don't like to see women mistreated.
Well, at least he had a sense of honor and compassion toward the mistreatment of others. She just about let him off the hook for playing the hero when Aureus spoke up a second time. And pardon me, I just thought I heard a hint of annoyance in your previous question. If he had simply left it at the mistreated remark, she would have probably let it go, but now he was judging her, and she didn't like being judged, expecially in a negative way. The dark haired girl let out a sigh, turing her eyes to the ceiling briefly before resting back on the boy. If there had been annoyance in her voice before, it was definately present now. And even now it wasn't exactly annoyance, maybe just a lack of patience.
"I wasn't annoyed before, but you couldn't blame me to question your motives, as they were certainly questionable. Don't confuse curiosity with annoyance.."

OoC: I don't think Vincent is going to reply anytime soon >.> If he does YOU guys bumped him, not me ^_^ I'll make it worth your while if you take the blame *hands out pink teddy bears*
Max smiled at Aureus, seeing that he took the cloth from her and wiped the blood, she took it back from him and folded it, not caring whether his blood was on it or that she was O-blooded. She just gave him one of her largest smiles and slipped the hankercheif back into her coat pocket, stepping a bit backward now, more to the right though, Max stood about two feet from Chihiro and Aureus now. The other kid who had first come to intrude on the picky sophomores was keeping quiet at the moment, but Max didn't want to bug him about it. "I've helped someone. I've did something good..." She thought to herself and her green eyes lit up like a christmas tree, she felt the fingers on her right hand twitching in excitement, Max was ... nervous. She just smiled and backed up after Aureus thanked her, it was her pleasure, she just couldn't get those words out of her mouth though.
"I don't like to see women mistreated." Aureus was speaking to Chihiro, Max had forgotten what she had said though, so she kept quiet. "And pardon me, I just thought I heard a hint of annoyance in your previous question." "Kitty fight?" Max thought to herself the possibilites of a fight breaking out between Chihiro and Aureus, luckily they weren't that high.
"I wasn't annoyed before, but you couldn't blame me to question your motives, as they were certainly questionable. Don't confuse curiosity with annoyance.."
Or were they? "Please, this is getting a bit out of hand. What Aureus did probably was questionable, but now those guys are ... pretty much ... goners, and I'm okay, everyone's okay and no one's in trouble anymore. Okay? -- please. Promoting violence, completely unexceptional, fighting on the other hand is even worse. Let's not start anything here, shall we?" Max tossed in a few words, worried that a more violent scene would brew between Aureus and Chihiro if they kept talking like that, maybe it was just how the two talked though...like weirdo's, but that wasn't for Max to judge, she did what she thought was neccesary. Intrude.

See? What did I tell you about that one? Oh Jeez... She takes things too personally. Aureus thought before he began to reply to Chi. However, before he could get into it, he was interrupted by the other girl. Looking over at her, he noticed she was pretty happy. Almost...glowing. Now ya see? She's my kind of girl. Beautiful, kind, and sweet. Not like miss bossy over there. They both seem fine to me. Though it probably wouldn't be smart to hit on the short one. She looks like she'd hit you. Exactly. The schizo thought while listening to the girl speak. It seemed she was worried that Aureus and the shorter girl would start fighting as well, though he fears were misplaced. He would never hit a woman, not to mention it took alot more than talk to upset him. "Thanks for your concern, but there's no need to worry." He said to Max before continuing on to what he was going to say before. "As for you, I apologize for misjudging you."

((ooc: Two pink teddy bears in one thread! Woot! ^_^))
Chi glanced at the new girl as she accepted the hankershief back, she was practically buzzing with joy. She knew if she had been given a blood soaked tissue, she'd be buzzy as well. Okay, maybe not. This girl seemed a little weird, but she was nice enough that Chi let it pass. As for Aureus...how did they end up practically fighting like this? Their personalities seemed to clash, she doubted that they really had anything in common. She graced him with a mild smile though as he appologized, well at least he wasn't pugnacious and rude.

She replied, pausing briefly as she pondered her next words. Her tone was a lot less crisp, and almost hesitate. Almost being the operative word.
"And...I app-...I appol-...I shouldn't have judged you as well.."
