The roar of an engine could be heard, shattering the peaceful silence, as a dark shape could be seen barreling down the road, coming closer and closer, as a car came into view, eventually racing past another figure who was walking down the sidewalk, heading in the same direction. Sunlight shined down as Alex made his way through the city, wearing a black t-shirt, loose black track pants, and his black overcoat, a black backpack on his back, the guitar case that held his Fender Telecaster slung on his left shoulder, as he looked down at the piece of paper in his hand with directions on it, his other hand holding a bag that held his belongings that he couldn't fit in his backpack inside. He then turned down a street on his right, heading into the residential areas, as he continued to follow the directions on the paper. He walked down the sidewalk, before stopping, and looked up and around, as he wondered if he was in the right place, before spotting the sign attached to the bars of the railing on the staircase.
He saw one of the tenants poke his head out through his window, as Alex did a half bow/nod at the guy, who nodded back, before moving his head back in and closed the window. He looked down at the paper in his hand, before looking back up once more. This is the place, Dusk Apartments. Alex walked forward, and headed towards the main entrance, before stopping in front of the door, and rang the doorbell, as he heard a old lady's voice call out from inside, before the door opened, as Alex looked down at the landlady. "Who're you? A courier?" "Um no..." "A solicitor, then? We don't want none." "No I-" "Ah, you're that damned tombstone salesman who keeps on calling!" The old woman exclaimed, "I don't need your services damn it!" "Um, no. The real estate agent said that-" "Ah, you're the electrician from next door to the realtors! I've been waiting for you! Come in! Come in!" She said, as she yanked Alex forward, who toppled in through the doorway, as the landlady closed the door behind him.
"It's been like this for a while." She said, leading him to a TV with a fuzzy screen, as Alex stared at the TV with a bored expression on his face. "Um-" "Damn it, hun! It can't get a signal if you stand there!" The landlady shouted to her husband, who was standing out in their yard, holding a bonsai tree, as he walked away. Alex looked behind him, as he sighed, before looking back at the TV. "Didn't you say that digital whatchamahoozit gives you a clear picture?" "I didn't say that." Alex replied, as he looked at the TV, before holding one side of the TV with his left hand, as he banged the other side with his right hand. "It's not one of those huge, ancient TV's! That won't fix it!" "That's true." Alex replied, as he grinned sheepishly at the landlady, before hitting the TV once, as a spark jumped out followed by smoke issuing out from the TV as the picture cleared up, showing a conference taking place. "It's fixed." Alex said, as he turned to the landlady. "How lame!"
"Um, what was your name? Alexander..." "Alexander Hikari." Alex replied, as the landlady led him up the stairs. "Alex then. I heard from the real estate agent you came from San Francisco." "Yes, I transferred from a school in San Francisco to one here." The landlady stopped in front of a door with the plaque bolted on it that read "215" as she turned to face Alex. "Here's your room. I hope I can count on you to get along with your neighbors and stay out of trouble." "Yes ma'am." She then gave Alex his key and headed back down the stairs. Alex walked up to and opened the door, as he stepped in, and closed the door behind him, locking it. He then headed in, and looked around. The kitchen sink and counter was located right beside the door, as well as one bedroom and one bathroom. Alex walked into the main room as he placed his guitar case and bag down on the floor, along with his backpack, before heading to the window, and pushed the curtain to the side.
He then opened the window, as Alex sat down on the window sill, and rested his right arm on the metal balcony railing, as he stared up at the blue sky, a light breeze blowing his hair back, before sighing. He heard Emily was in Long Beach, but so far, he hadn't seen her, and wondered if she was alright. Long Beach was a pretty big city, and it would probably take a long while to find her, if he even could that is. He looked down at the people walking on the streets, before noticing a certain someone with long black hair, as a look of surprise appeared on his face, it was... "...Emily!?"

Yeah, it had been one of those days wherein no matter how familiar you are with the place, you just couldn't seem to basically find the damned area. Well, Emily had decided to pass by her old apartment around a block away and maybe spend the night there if she couldn't find Ryuu's place before the sun sets.
Maybe his apartment was a new building? Eh, Emily wouldn't know - it's certainly been a while since she had been able to come here.
Well, it wouldn't be too soon before --- "...Emily!?"
Oooh~
She knew that voice, but where did it come from?
She looked to the left and the right, nothing; behind her; and when she looked up, her eyes met with Ryuu's gray ones. Emily smiled and chuckled to herself, folding her arms above her chest as she looked up. "So this is the place?" She said, smiling.

The moment his eyes locked with Emily's and she smiled up at him, Alex bolted from the window sill and ran out the door, the door closing behind him with a loud click, as he ran down the stairs and out into the street. He ran down the street, before coming to a halt at the corner of the street, breathing heavily. A single bead of sweat ran down his face as he slowly lifted his head up, thinking he had imagined seeing Emily due to his strong desire to find her, but the moment he made eye contact with her, he knew he wasn't imagining things, as he slowly straightened up. For a moment, it felt like time had stopped, as he looked at her, his expression gradually changing back to normal.
"...Emily..." He said softly, as he took a few steps forward, before breaking out into a run, closing the distance between the two of them, before stopping right in front of her, as he stared at her. "..." Wordlessly, he stepped forward, before wrapping his arms around her, he really wasn't imagining things, it really was her. He looked down at her as he held her in his arms, a smile slowly appearing on his face. "I was wondering how long it was going to take you to find me... Your cell battery died?" He teased, he didn't care who saw them, Emily was here, and that was all that mattered to him.

Emily smiled to herself as Ryuu held her. Ah, how she missed it. It actually had been a while since Emily took a month before getting here. Well, one of the few reasons was her trying to settle her contract with the hospital and the maid cafe, amongst other things in San Francisco. Well, those are dealt with at least.
"I was wondering how long it was going to take you to find me... Your cell battery died?" He teased, She just smiled and pulled him into an embrace.
"Charging~" She said, albeit in a sing-song tune before laughing and looking up at her boyfriend. "Well, my cellphone did die out in the airplane though. Apparently I forgot to charge it before leaving for the airport."

Alex returned the smile Emily gave him as he felt her pull him into an embrace, he really did miss her, having arrived a month before she did, though he had been busy during that time, enrolling into 259 and checking up on the repairs that had been done to the school. Alex chuckled as he heard Emily say she was charging, before laughing and looking up at him. "Heh, after all the time we were away from each other, all I am to you is a charger." He teased, as he pulled her closer. A slow smile appeared on his face as she told him that her cellphone really did die out, since she apparently forgot to charge it before she left for the airport. "... Well, that's alright, I had to turn my cell off anyways, since I had to recharge it." Alex replied, he had kept his cell on the minute he arrived in Long Beach.
The only time he turned it off was when he had no choice but to charge it, when it ran low on battery power. He then pulled away slightly from Emily, still holding onto her, as he bent down and gave her a gentle kiss on her lips. He then parted away from her, as he smiled at her. "Did you come here to find me, or hug me in front of my apartment?" He teased, as he held her hand in his own, the ring clearly visible on his left ring finger, and led the way back to his apartment. He then climbed up the stairs, and walked to his door, before opening the door, and led the way in. "Sorry, no furniture yet, unless you count the bed frame and mattress in my room," He said, grinning sheepishly, as he rubbed the back of his head, "I just moved in, so I didn't have a chance to set up anything yet."

"Heh, after all the time we were away from each other, all I am to you is a charger." Emily sighed, smiling as she was pulled closer. Ah, he felt so damn warm - and she loved it so much. "... Well, that's alright, I had to turn my cell off anyways, since I had to recharge it."
"I see." Emily wasn't really much of a fan of cell phones. She only usually checked it every few hours but never really bothered much with it. There's the phone, or walking - why bother messing with just 160 letters?
After a kiss, he then pulled away, leaving the girl blushing slightly. I mean, they're in public, for crying out loud. "Did you come here to find me, or hug me in front of my apartment?"
"Aww, can't it be both?" She laughed, nudging him a bit with a hand. Her own ring was still on her left ring finger as well. Guess that mock wedding meant something a bit more than that to them, huh? Ryuu led her into his apartment before he spoke again.
"Sorry, no furniture yet, unless you count the bed frame and mattress in my room," He said, grinning sheepishly, as he rubbed the back of his head, "I just moved in, so I didn't have a chance to set up anything yet."
Emily giggled. "That's fine. That's what my apartment here looks like now - Empty." She laughed, "That doesn't matter anyways, all you need is a working kitchen, a bathroom, and a bed, really."

Alex chuckled softly as he heard Emily sigh, before pulling her closer to him. As usual, his body temperature was warm, due to his flame Qi. He then told her that her cellphone dying was alright, seeing as his own cellphone had been off and charging at the time. But Alex wasn't really one to use his cellphone constantly, in fact, he rarely used it. Social butterfly, he was not. He rather use his home phone, or even walk to meet up with someone. He then bent down and kissed Emily, before pulling away, a small smile appearing on his face as he saw her blush slightly. Yes, they were in a public area, but Alex was so thrilled to have Emily back, that was the least of his worries.
"Mmmm... Nope! Has to be one or the other!" He teased, as he felt her nudge him with her hand, as he spotted the ring from the mock wedding on her left ring finger. That event really did mean a lot more than it seemed to the both of them. He then opened the door to his apartment, and led the way in, his apartment pretty much... well, bare. He had barely any furniture, and what furniture he did have, were ones that were already in the apartment to begin with. "Your apartment huh?" Alex said, as he sat down on the window sill, resting his left arm on the metal balcony railing, as he pondered on an idea, before turning to face Emily, his mind made up. "Um... Since you said your apartment is empty... Would you like to live here with me?"

"Um... Since you said your apartment is empty... Would you like to live here with me?"
Emily's face burst into a bright hue of red.
"W-wait," she stammered, cupping her cheeks with her two hands to try and control her blushing. "Y-you mean, li-live t-together?"
Emily shook the blush away and tried to look somewhere else. Of course, that did nothing with the blush plastered all over her face. Who wouldn't be embarrassed with the thought of living with the guy you like, seeing him 24/7?
"I..." She started, "... I'd love to."
She swore she could've exploded that moment.
"I mean, I really'd love to. I'm... probably just gonna have some adjusting to do. I... never really lived with anyone before. No less a guy..."

Alex stared as he saw Emily's face turn bright red, while normally, would be very hilarious to anyone, but in Alex's case, he just stared rather blankly one would say at her. "Um... yes?" He replied, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly, as he saw her cup her cheeks with her hands. Alex looked in the opposite direction as he saw Emily look away, out the window, as a warm summer breeze blew through the window, blowing his front hair around, the faint sound of cicadas drifting into the room. "I...I'd love to." "Haaaah!?" Was Alex's immediate reaction, as his head whipped around, facing Emily, as he stared at her in genuine surprise.
Although he was surprised, he was also thrilled that she accepted. "Um... I could say the same thing..." He said in a low voice as he blushed, his eyes looking in the other direction. "This is the first time I've lived on my own in an apartment, without my father and sister around." Alex rubbed the side of his head in embarrassment, before looking at Emily, as a slow smile began to form on his face. "But I'd wouldn't want to live with anyone else than you." Alex continued to sit on the window sill, his arm still resting on the metal railing, as he rested his legs up on the sill, she could sit with him, that is, if she wished.

"Haaaah!?" Emily blinked. Was that a good reaction or... should she be a little worried? "Um... I could say the same thing... This is the first time I've lived on my own in an apartment, without my father and sister around."
Emily mentally sighed in relief. Ah. Well, Emily was probably just thinking too much. I mean, Alex DID offer to let her live with him but...
"But I'd wouldn't want to live with anyone else than you." Emily smiled and came closer to her boyfriend, poking him jokingly on the nose.
"You're full of cheese, you know that?" She teased, before giving him a small kiss on the forehead. "Well, I guess this means you're going to have to put up with my cooking from this day forward..."

"Hey..." Alex began to say, as he felt Emily poke him on the nose after smiling at him and moving closer to him, "That wasn't very nice." He retorted back teasingly, as he poked her back in the stomach. "...Thanks, it makes me feel so much better to know I'm full of cheese." He replied back sarcastically, though he was only teasing Emily, after all, she should be used to his sarcastic nature by now. He blushed slightly as he felt Emily kiss him on the forehead, as he smiled at her. "You make it sound like it's a bad thing," He laughed, as he stood up and walked over to his backpack and bag he had left on the floor before, and picked them up, "But then again I could always just cook for the both of us too."
He then walked into the bedroom, as he stared at the almost bare room, save for the bedframe and mattress, a bored or half-asleep expression on his face, whichever one was interpreted first. He placed his backpack and bag down on the floor, he would sort his clothes out later. He walked back into the main room, as he pulled off his jacket and hung it up. "Um... You have anything to bring over from your apartment?" He asked, as he looked at Emily in mild curiosity. "I can help, if you want, and you can show me around Long Beach... sort of. I haven't had much time to play tourist for the past couple weeks." He offerered, as he shrugged his shoulders casually. He didn't really mind, to be honest.

Emily chuckled. Boy, Ryuu was the king of sarcasm. Sometimes, Emily wondered if he had a thing for that kind of talk.
Maybe this was the effect of being completely comfortable with someone else? Having that sort of person in your life was rare; even amongst those who have already established relationships. Emily and Ryuu haven't been put to the test as of yet, but considering that this was Long Beach; that may come sooner than they thought. For now, Emily strayed herself from that sort of mentality and decided to smile it off.
That was what Layla always does, right?
It worked, anyways.
Emily's eyes followed after Ryuu and it went into his bare bedroom, watching him. From here, it was already obvious that there as barely anything inside. Speaking of that, maybe the movers had already finished moving some of her stuff onto the 707 apartments...? Yeah, maybe they'd have them sent today or tomorrow, which meant she'd be homeless for the next few days. Oh well, at least she could stay here.
"Um... You have anything to bring over from your apartment? I can help, if you want, and you can show me around Long Beach... sort of. I haven't had much time to play tourist for the past couple weeks."
Emily smiled and went closer to Ryuu, wrapping her arms around his neck. "Well, I don't think I would need to." she said, "Most of my stuff should be moved to the Kaleidoscope apartments within the week. It's not really practical to be moving things back and forth from there, considering my apartment is 7 floors up."
Yeah, seven floors. Good exercise routine, huh? No wonder Emily had strong legs.
"I can show you around Long beach though; in fact, there are a few places I wanted to go to now that I'm back..."
...
Yeah, quite a few.

Alex stared rather blankly at Emily as he heard her chuckle. It was true that he was the king of sarcasm, but that was how he was most if not all the time, ever since he started high school. He headed into the bedroom, though there wasn't very much to look at, but then again, Alex was never a person who really cared what his room looked like, back in San Francisco, he had put up maybe one poster on the wall of his room, but that was pretty much it. Leaving his backpack and bag in the room, he walked back into the main room, making a note to buy a low table to use for eating more than likely. He blushed slightly as he felt Emily wrap her arms around his neck, moving close to him, as he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her even closer to him. "Ah..." He replied, as he tilted his head to one side like a puppy dog. "You're probably right, and I really don't want to lug boxes up and down seven flights of stairs."
As willing as Alex was, seven flights of stairs was... Yeah, he'd probably keel over from climbing them... several times. "I'd like that a lot. Unlike San Francisco, I didn’t spend a year here, so I don’t know much about the places here.” It was quite a warm evening, so Alex decided to leave his jacket in the apartment. Grabbing his apartment key, he pulled on his shoes, and unlocked the door, pulling it open, as he waited for Emily to head out first. Once she left, he would follow after her, and locked his door, and headed down the stairs, stepping out onto the sidewalk. “So Ms. Tour Guide, where are we heading first?” He teased, as he bowed slightly to her, his left hand held behind his back, his right hand held out to her, like he was a prince escorting a princess. Or something like that.

"I'll just buy some new stuff for here, mm?" She said before Ryuu led her outside. Emily went and pulled on her sandals and stepped out before Ryuu closed the door
“So Ms. Tour Guide, where are we heading first?” He teased, as he bowed slightly to her, his left hand held behind his back, his right hand held out to her. Emily blushed, slightly reminded of a cute vocaloid song she heard over the internet, but she'd probably look on that much later.
"Mmm, how about we pass by 259 first?" She said. "We won't go inside. I just want to see what it looks like now that it's supposedly rebuilt. Then... I'll probably take you either to my old apartment, or that place where I used to work at..."
...
Yeah.
His restaurant.

"Sure, if you want to, I need to buy a table to use anyways." Alex replied, as he led the way out, closing and locking the door behind the two of them. He smiled slightly as he saw her blush as he bowed slightly to her, his right hand held out for her to take. Once she took his hand, if she chose to, or if she didn't, either way, he would straighten up, and start heading towards 259, the only reason he knew where 259 was, was because he had been there before to enroll himself into the school. "Either one is fine, your apartment or where you used to work I mean." Alex shrugged, as he shoved his free left hand into the pocket of his jeans, as he continued to walk down the sidewalk.
A few minutes later, he reached 259, and stopped in front of the school, a look of mild interest on his face. He didn't know what Emily's feelings were towards being back at her old school, or how she would feel seeing the guy she still had feelings for (Not that Alex knew who he was.) Alex knew that Emily still held feelings for "Unfettered" and to be honest, he had no qualms with it. The thing about Alex, despite his sarcastic and cynical nature, the fact that Emily loved him, even though she still held feelings for someone else, was enough for him. He loved Emily more than anyone, and he always would, no matter what. "... Hey. Do you regret coming back here? ... Because of me?" He asked, his front hair covering his left eye, his right eye somewhat hidden in shadows.
