Victor had learned many things over the last year, useful thoughts and processes. He knew he was weak, at least in comparison to all the monsters at this school, but a thought had struck him... he had never seen ANY pillarship at the school. he had heard there was a school captain, but other than that he had seen NO ONE...
And so Victor found himself after football practice, in the stadium looking for whoever claimed to be the Varsity captain. Victor thought he may like to have one of those fancy titles, and if no one was here, why couldn't he simply claim it for himself...
in all fairness, he was on the football team, the wrestling team and as of recently the water polo team... who better to be varsity captain than him?
he opened his mouth
"So uhh..." he said quite loudly that anyone in the stadium could hear "I think I'm just gonna be Varsity Captain now since no one seems to want it!" he called out, it was an open challenge, or if he was lucky someone would simply bear witness to him claiming it, and he would be the new varsity captain

"Well thats one way to get noticed."
He was sitting behind the kid, eyes watching his open declaration. He wore his Baseball gear, a small hint of a smile coming to the two time Captain/Varsity Captain. He was a veteran when it came to these things, and this boy had the right idea but was going about it all wrong. He leaned forward, a glint in his eyes.
"Piece of advice." He would wait until the fellow was listening. "Don't go screaming that shit to the world unless your looking for a fight." He would vanish and reappear in front of the kid, his body heightened to extreme speeds. "Not saying im Varsity Captain, or that im gonna fight you. But if the School Captain doesnt like your tone, she might change it for you. And shes the only one who can give you what you want. So when she shows up, try to play nice, okay?" He would begin walking down the steps, not another word coming from his lips. Unless the boy halted him, he would simply leave, giving his advice and vanishing into the fields.

Victor shrugged, but nodded at the advice, it wasn't like he really knew how to become varsity captain, but he knew generally it involved fighting whoever the current varsity captain was... and from the looks of things, there wasn't one, but in all fairness a fight was actually exactly what he was looking for... unless there was a way to get the Varsity Captain without fighting. David had mentioned the school captain, and now she had a gender, this was a step forward.
"Do you know where I could find her?" Victor asked, much more quietly and directly to him now, if it was just a matter of finding the current school captain and persuading her to let him be the new varsity captain he was game.

He turned back, a sigh coming to his lips before he did.
"Listen." He walked up the steps, hands in his sports pants, cap in his back pocket. "I've been where you are. I've wanted something that most may think was beyond my reach." He shrugged. "Work hard enough, prove your worth, get noticed and you'll get what you want." He looked out over the field. "But a Captain can't just come running whenever any average joe calls her name and wants a spot on her team." He looked back to the boy. "Point is, she might show up if shes told your claiming a title, or she may deem it not worth her time. If you want to go and find her- well. Can't say i can help you." He turned to go.
What he said was mostly true, except the last bit. He could help the kid- but David wasn't the type to just take anyone to the Captain. He wasn't going to just lead some random guy to her without any pretense. If the boy was smart or strong in any way, he would pick up on Davids own aura and realize he wasn't just a kid playing baseball. He knew things- many things. Persistance was a virtue at times...
Would this kid have any?
It didn't much matter to him.

Victor thought about what he said. then created his response with a smile "And who said I'm an average joe?" Victor asked, this kid really seemed to like walking away, but it was hard to ignore victor, "For someone who knows so much I'd think you may at least be able to point me somewhere where I could find her, where she is likely to be?"
He thought about it, he hated when people where difficult "whether or not she deems me 'worth it' is very difficult to tell unless I can at least see her myself, and if you can't take me to her, I would just have to bring her to me somehow" he thought about this, really the only ways he could think of where through violence to get attention, something he was sure the school captain wouldn't approve of in the first place... maybe, who knows, he'd never met this girl

Gabriel spent his days now watching from the shadows, he'd made his blip on the radar, pursued enough of a reputation for one lifetime. For now he wanted to watch to see things would turn out. He'd been notified of the multitude of outlashes throughout the school system but they weren't at beaking point and he clearly didn't have an interest in such ravel any longer. He stayed alongside the sports field keeping a weary eye on a potential successor.
That was until David made his arrival, he always seemed to be first on the scene. Impecable, he chuckled lightly taking a hold of the conversation before walking out. His stride calm and unshakable though he'd just recovered from his fight with David.
"tsk tsk, David I thought you'd be off punishing bad guys not lecturing a student on whether or not he can claim a position..." Gabriel stopped leaning against a banner his arms folded and an amused look on his face.
"I do believe it is still open... it's like running for office I suppose" Gabriel gave a pleased smile.
But of course the student hierarchy isn't based on election, he would have had that changed back on #42 if he had won the public's support, hell if Matrim had just given up.

David let out a long, exaggerated breath inside his mind.
Gabriel.
Just what he needed.
"Well, Gabriel, i'm here for the students, whether its to answer a question or to fight off evil." He folded his arms. "Though you say your surprised, im the one who wonders at you being here. I'd think you'd be trying to gather more power for yourself from some individual you deem worthy of fighting." His voice would be calm, cool, collected, and hold no tone of mirth or laughter though you could tell he was making fun of Gabriel just as he had done him. This boy was one of the most frustrating individuals he had ever met. One day he wanted to protect, the next destroy, and now he just wanted power. Tomorrow he'd want money or something else he could flaunt at the world. David kept his hands in his pockets, immediately charging his Qi, the energy around himself bursting outward in a force Gabriel had not yet seen.
Strength came with time.
His voice would emenate this time, his eyes flashing.
"The pillars titles are given when vacant and only taken when you beat the individual currently holding it. Nobody is, so he can't claim anything for himself." He scowled. "I don't know why your here, but the pillarship is honestly no concern of yours nor has it ever been in my memory. Why do you care whom i talk to- it has nothing to do with you and your Quest for strength."
David didn't truly know if Gabriel hunted for strength, but it seemed to have been a big topic on his mind when they fought last, and David knew that old habits died hard- before, at 42, Gabriel was on a similiar power trip, and until proven otherwise David would count the boy as an enemy.

Victor's eyebrows raised, Gabriel always a fun sight to see, as intrigue and curious happenings seemed to follow him wherever he went, and in Victor's natural fashion, he liked intriguing people.
David on the other hand seemed a bit more hostile to Gabriel's appearance, apperantly this was not according to plan for David, which only helped strengthen what Victor was thinking, he was being played a little bit... but who knows maybe it was for the right cause...
David did have a point, Gabriel did like power, but they where both about to fight over absolutely nothing.
"he hasn't even threatened you yet, I know you guys don't get along, but lets not fight over nothing" Victor said toward david, his voice loud but not yelling, he didn't know if he could control these two powerhouses but if he could this would certainly do it, Victor looked positively glowing, his voice was full of authority
he knew a simple answer to a simple question could fix this.
"Gabriel, are you here to fight? or to gain the title? cause as long as your not I can see no reason why you guys should fight" Victor asked confidently, his eyebrows giving a little flick to alert Gabriel of what he was really doing, he honestly didn't think Gabriel would be here to fight, he looked injured in some ways...
It was with great hope that Victor looked upon the two, hoping that if Gabriel said he wasn't there to fight and that he wanted no power that David would stand down
Victor always liked it when logic prevailed over brute force

Gabriel's eyes batted quickly becoming more alert to the situation as he saw David's body shift uncomfortably into a battle stance. Curious, something had changed in him Gabriel could see that much. He watched and even took it upon himself to inch closer aggressivly, Gabriel did have quite the track record but once more David was very wrong about Gabriel. Perhaps he was after the title, another notch under his belt, perhaps he wanted revenge for what David had done to him. Whatever the reason Gabriel sheathed himself in an aura of calm ready for instincts to take over.
"Gabriel, are you here to fight? or to gain the title? cause as long as your not I can see no reason why you guys should fight"
Gabriel's eyes didn't shift from David, their sole focus was there and Victor was forgotten from the picture for an instant. The pieces were almost arranged in place so far as Gabriel could tell, there were just a few last minute placings before the games would begin. And of course there was Gabriel's wild card hiding away. The sinister grin appeared on his face.
"Nothing to fear Victor, David is simply intimidated with you taking the position he has yet to get a hold of..." Gabriel said through snake lips pressing those curious buttons.
Fear was not an aspect of Gabriel's choice merely a tool to be used. Fear afflicted him every day and yet David didn't fill him with fear, in their rivalry he bore a hidden respect hidden away behind a wall of snide remarks. He couldn't become like him, they were too much alike and yet so seperate. They would do battle til the end.

David stood, conflicted.
Gabriel angered him, slipping out snarky remarks and acting like the world owed him something. However, the boy, Victor, had a point. David wasn't one to simply cause a fight for nothing, even if it was a fight he would once again win. It would do nothing- Gabriel would still mouth off, would still act the strongest and the smartest person alive. He killed off his aura, the power of his Qi cradled inside him. He had it ready, but wasn't showing himself to be hostile, his face going expressionless.
"Unfortunately, the boy has a point- there is no reason to fight you. No laws have been broken here."
Ha activated his Qi. (Dex:360)
His figure would appear to be in the same spot, standing with a hand in his pocket, like a shadow. David had moved so quickly it would take a few seconds before Gabriels eyes caught up, And David would be behind him.
"But i'll be watching."
His voice would come from behind gabriel, and the shadow would fade from light. If Gabriel or Victor noticed him, they would see him walking away, hands in his pockets, stepping lightly down the steps to the exit, his voice calling after.
"Hey kid, you want to know about the Captain, you can find me. Otherwise, good luck on your own."
His voice would vanish as did he, though the shadow of himself took another step or two before disappearing as well.
OOC(( UGH i wanted to fight too >_< Davids exit))

Victor sighed, that wasn't helpful at all...
but hey, David wasn't the only one with connections, perhaps Gabriel would know where Victor could find this captain who apperantly existed...
in the back of Victor's mind he had a stray thought, whoever this captain would be would probably be the strongest person on campus... stronger than david... stronger than Gabriel, and certainly stronger than Victor... and would he have to fight her to prove his worth?
Man, this would be so much fun!
Victor honestly smiled and began to laugh, he couldn't help himself, this was all too perfect.
"well, I guess he's gone then... do you know where I can find the captain?" Victor asked with a smirk, he was more ready then ever to do what he had to do now.

Gabriel's eyes narrowed on David's after image, aparently he'd grown quite faster, this intrigued him once more following the trace of power in the air and then of course he was behind Gabriel. Without flinching Gabriel smiled not moving an inch as he felt the cool breath and the challenge. He was looking forward to it. With each fight he got stronger and he was beginning to find out David's secrets, it wouldn't be long.
Eyes turned upon Victor as the image of David dissappeared. Grudges, useful but it would seem as though Blaze was making this quite a bigger deal on this, harm people and Gabriel got looked at with awe, threaten the pillars he reacts hurt. Humerous character indeed.
"I'm sure she's not far off... We'll take a look around for you," Gabriel winked with a victorious grin.
"Though you up to par?" Gabriel questioned shortly, shaking his head in disagreement with himself, "Course you are.."

Victor thought about what Gabriel said... everyone seemed to question his strength, and though Victor thought he was infalliable, he knew better, he knew this girl must be some crazy she-devil monster...
maybe
but hey, maybe he wouldn't have to fight her, he could possibly charm her into agreeing that he could have the position...
possibly
and possibly, he totally was up for it, maybe he could take her, Gabriel just mentioned he could... but then... knowing gabriel...
"Be honest with me Gabriel, do you think I could hold my own against her? you've probably fought me more than anyone else on this campus, and if I need to become stronger for this position I will, but I need to know" Victor asked, his usually joking tone now slowly phased out by a more serious question, Victor had no idea why this was important to him...
yet
and yet, something in his gut told him it was the right thing to do, something told him that order was needed, no matter how temporary and that he could help bring that order...
probably
and probably the time for things like this was now, and why not whith so much discord around at a time like this? seemed like a good enough time to him
definately

Gabriel looked at him thinking to reassure the boy. He'd sided with him back at #42 and even got a close moment with him. Gabriel had seen all the strength he possessed and even that he still had to improve, but yet the potential was enless so long as there was a helping hand to stay away the evil. "If you aren't at all confident try these." Gabriel said taking the shin guards off of himself, they'd been with him since the Enforcer battle, he'd earned them by doing good deeds and now they'd serve the same purpose. "They'll make you stronger, only to be worn by those who deserve them and I believe without a doubt that youv'e earned these." Gabriel gave him a respect worthy nod as the boy was to wear them. "Remember when you fight her use your head... don't get too wrapped up in the thick of things, remember you're fighting for a reason." Gabriel gave a reassuring smile. Victor smiled, he took the shin gaurds, Gabriel... for all of his calculating, for all of his cunning... he really could show honesty and kindness, Gabriel was so interesting, always showing Victor new sides of himself every day it seemed...
Victor put them on, returning the respectful nod with one of his own.
"Thanks man, I owe you one" Victor said, his usual big smile lighting up his face, talks about reasons for fighting always interested him, did Gabriel know his reasons? maybe, maybe not, one way or another though, he was moving in a direction now, when before he used to simply sit idly... things where changing, and Victor was quite excited for it.
but a stray thought struck victor
"you know... you've always been so interesting, and thats never stopped, its half the reason I've always got your back, but I am very curious" he trailed off for a moment, a more wistful look grabbing his face "how exactly do you see me? What am I to you?" he asked, his smile returning, he really did want to know... it had been far too long since they'd last had a bit of a deeper conversation
