Alex stood on the rooftop near the chain metal fence that ran along the entire perimeter of the building, the only thing separating him and the edge of the rooftop, his hands in the pockets of his black trench coat, staring down at the school grounds. He saw people walk across the school grounds, people in groups, people who were by themselves, but all that didn't matter to him, he was only concerned with things that involved him. Including his intent to get the Student Body President title. For the past few days, he had been spreading the word throughout the school of his intent, though he knew that unless Mitsuki, the current School Captain approved, he wouldn't get the title. But he had fought against her, to show her how determined he was, and in a small way, had proven himself to her. But that was besides the point.
Why was he on the rooftop in the first place? He just wanted to get away from everyone, all the crowds, all the noise, everything. Crowds weren't his thing. He didn't mind a small group though, he just didn't like being around a gigantic group of people. And, the noise in the school was enough to blast his eardrums to kingdom come. So what did he do? He went to the rooftop. After all, who would want to come here? Most people would want to hang out with their friends, not go to a rooftop by themselves. Only people like Alex would ever come here. The wind blew his black hair back, revealing his piercing gray eyes, which normally looked as fierce as a hawk, but currently, they were calm, he didn't realize he wasn't the only one up on the rooftop, though he'd find out soon enough.

"Student Body President huh?"
He stepped up beside Alex, keeping his gaze to the veiw. It seemed his face to find individuals constantly seeking the pillarship. As much as he avoided it, he was linked to it and it to him. He turned and looked the boy in the eyes, a small question on his face. not too long ago this boy had decided that he wanted to be Captain, and after that bout with Mitsuki which ended in his defeat he felt that Student Body President was more fitting a title. He wondered what drove the kid. What made him so eager to be a part of a group whose job it was to keep order and peace. His hands were in his pockets as his black hair blew across his face in a similiar fashion.
"Why?"
He shrugged.
"Titles come and go, people fade and pass into history. Why worry? Why fight and struggle for a cause that, in the end, matters little?"
He was testing the kids mind. He had seen his strength, his physical prowess and he was impressed- perhaps the boy was worthy. He just needed to know if he was sound of mind for this.
Not to mention he was spending an awful lot of time near Emily, or so he was told. Last he knew, the boy had feelings for her, so this wasn't only a testing of his mind, it was a weighing of his heart as well.

Alex shifted his gaze to look beside him, and found none other than David Blaze himself standing beside him, as his gaze shifted back to the view in front of him. "... For all my life... I wanted strength. I didn't want those things precious to me to be taken from me anymore," Alex began, after staying silent, as he turned to face David, his eyes cool and calm, "But to have strength means to invite disaster to come your way. The Pillar titles are no different. I know. I was the Student Body President back at Point Hope High, and was the adviser to the School Captain... Matrim Gallagher. And strength alone... cannot really protect you."
Alex's gaze never wavered from David's, his eyes still calm as can be. Alex wanted to protect Emily, and he knew perfectly well she was able to protect herself very well, but despite that, he wouldn't let anyone hurt her, no matter what. "... I know how small this struggle matters, but even so, if I have the ability to make a difference, why not put it to good use? There are those who are idealistic, and there are those who actually do something. I want to make a difference, no matter how small it is." Alex had seen the effects of not being able to do anything, no matter how much you wanted to. "I will do what I must, to protect what is precious to me."

Davids miniscule estimation of this kid skyrocketed, his eyes changing from a doubting pallor to a bright happiness. This kid had said all the right things at the same time. The most important was the last- to protect that which is precious to him.
"Well- i have to say. I wasn't epecting that." He pulled out a peice of paper, waiting for Alex to look his way. He had written down on it two numbers, and stared hard into the eyes of the Student Body President Wannabe. He wasn't one to put faith in anyone these days, but for some reason he had a thick sense of nostalgia and an inner hunger boiling up from deep inside himself. He almost didn't do it. He didnt want to have something come back on him so harshly. But he was someone whose personal ethical code mattered the most to him, and those he loved and cherished.
He held out the paper.
"Here." He would place his hand back into his pockets. "First number is Mitsukis. You call her then burn it. Don't save it unless she tells you to. When she answers tell her your name and that David Blaze recommended you for Student Body President. She may take kindly to it, or reject it completely." He turned to walk away. "The second number is mine. If you need anything, call." He frowned. "I'm putting a lot of faith in you based off what you said. Don't make me a fool for it." He began to walk away, talking as he did so.
"Always remember why you fight and defend Hikari- to protect those your love. Keep that always in your mind and you'll do alright in my book."
If Alex was watching or even if he wasn't, David would seem to disappear entirely, vanishing into the wind.

Gabriel watched as David escaped the scene showing off his bit of bravado, the kind a hero shows. Gabriel shook his head thinking of himself as much of a different kind of hero. He came up the stairs to the roof taking his leisure to rest idly beside Ryuu, his eyes distant this time as though there was something on his mind. No longer was fury controlling him quite to the extent it had before. For some reason his fight with David had given him a different view on things.
He didn't hate the boy, he hated the way he acted, treating others as though he was omnipresent and better than everyone else. But soon enough after a few hours of catching him behind the facade Gabriel could see that he was afraid. Much like himself in a way, thats why he said they weren't all too different because in truth they weren't only their actions decided their character.
"So... Beautiful night isn't it?" Gabriel questioned nonchalantly finding his way quite stealthily.
He hadn't intended for violence in this matter, there was no title he desired in fact he almost had faith in this new pillar grouping. Setting aside his dislike for the Reapers of old he could see that it would be a familiar grouping of like minded heros. Much like Marvel, He chuckled at the thought of Mitsuki and Ryuu in tights as a crime fighting duo.

Alex's eyes continued to stay calm as he continued to face David and saw his eyes change from a doubting pallor to bright happiness, it seemed that David wasn't expecting Alex to say what he had said, but Alex had spoken from his heart, and what he had said, was nothing but the truth, it was what Alex fought for and believed in. Alex's gaze shifted over as he saw David pull out a piece of paper, as he stared hard into Alex's eyes, who looked back with the same determination, his gaze unwavering. Alex saw him hold out the piece of paper, as Alex reached out, and took the paper from him, looking at it in mild curiosity. "Understood." Alex simply said, as he looked up, and saw David begin to walk away, folding and tucking the paper into the inner pocket of his jacket. "That is my code Blaze, and I will always follow my heart." Alex replied, as he placed his hands back into the pockets of his jacket, watching as David seemed to vanish completely, almost like a ghost.
He then turned around, looking down at the school grounds once more, as a familiar voice came from somewhere behind and to his right. "I couldn't agree more... Gabriel." Alex replied, not a hint of hostility detectable in his voice. Despite what Gabriel had done, Alex still thought of him as a friend and ally, though his actions were, at best, quite questionable. "What brings you up here Gabe?" Alex asked, as he looked over at him, a small but sad smile upon his face. Although he did wish to speak with Mitsuki as soon as possible, he had not seen Gabe for some time, and when he did speak to Mitsuki, he wished to speak to her without anyone around. "I assume you've heard of my intent to become Student Body President, am I not right? I will protect what I must protect." Emily...

Gabriel nodded solemnly, it was a shame things had turned out the way they did but they were also for a specific purpose in his own final interpretation. Thats what he viewed most respectable about Ryuu, always seemed so serious when it came to matters of the heart. It wasn't hard to see there was something on his mind.
"Yes, I understand quite vividly..." He mouthed letting the breath of cool air wisp away into the night sky.
He nodded reflecting how poorly he'd treated people wishing that there was some other way, some intended goal to get to this point, but once more things could have been very different. Rather than the skulking Villan Gabriel could have teamed up with the Militia, but once more it could have failed. Though his attempts were dispicable, it revealed the truth about people.
"Thats why I've come to tell you of my intentions... I hope you don't come to look down on me for what I've chosen, I to had to do something for the ones I loved." A grim expression cloaked his face as he turned away.
Olivia & Reira he'd done it for the both of them, to reveal a world free of pain and corruption, but in his attempts he'd lost sight of that and suffered loosing them both.

That was the thing about Alex, although he was sarcastic and cynical most, if not all the time, when it came to matters concerning the heart, he was completely serious, for it was something that mattered greatly to him. He saw Gabriel mouthed his reply, his response disappearing into the darkness of the night sky, as Alex continued to face forward, his hands in his pockets, the cool breeze of fall blowing his hair back. "I will admit, your actions were, at best, questionable. But despite that," Alex added, turning to face Gabriel, "I still consider you a good friend and ally. There are people who will do what they must, to protect those that they must. Your path and actions just happen to differ from the path and actions I would take."
Alex's eyes were hidden by the shadows that crossed his face, as he saw the grim expression cross Gabriel's face before he turned away from Alex. "The fact you've come to tell me your intentions, tells me you still trust me. I do not look down on you Gabriel for your actions, and every action has a reaction. How you go to this point and why, will determine the final step, does it not? If I can become Student Body President, I will use that power, to make a difference." Alex reached out and firmly gripped Gabriel's shoulder, to show that he still appreciated what Gabriel was doing. "There are those who do absolutely nothing, there are those who want to do something, but don't, and there are those who want to do something, and do it. I will do something, and make a difference. What is it that you intend to do, Gabe?"

Gabriel turned his eyes wide with a sense of awe in how much he'd grown. A sense as though Ryuu had been almost a younger brother figure was coming around almost to slap him in the face seeing as how he was indebted to the system. Now he was almost confident in the sstem himself even after years of being its foe. If this was the face of the new hierarchy, Gabriel had no right to suspect it; Mitsuki, Ryuu, and Victor. All seemed to be adept leaders, incredible in each their own right.
His eyes situated on the youth's face with interest and respect. Gabriel didn't have any ideas for what was unfolding, he had some hope now.
"Then with that in mind I have my own destiny to accomplish.." Gabriel said to Ryuu giving him a simple nod as he turned to leave.
"...To change everything." his final words inaudibly.

Alex continued to face forward even as he saw Gabriel's eyes widen with a sense of awe in them. Alex truly had grown, having seen what he had seen, it wasn't all that surprising. Alex shifted his gaze over as he saw Gabriel's eyes situate on him, a look of respect and interest on his face, as he returned the nod Gabriel gave him, before releasing his shoulder as he saw him turn to leave. Alex watched Gabriel's retreating back, and before long, he too, disappeared into the darkness of the night. The minute Alex was alone once more, he pulled out his cellphone and the piece of paper David had given him, and the first thing he did, was add David's number into his contact list. Once that was done, he began to dial Mitsuki's number, as he held the phone to his ear. "Mitsuki Park? My name is Kazuya Hikari, also known as Alexander or Alex, though you would know me as Ryuu." Alex would say simply, if she picked up. "David Blaze recommended me for Student Body President." He continued, getting straight to the point. He didn't know how Mitsuki would take to what he had just said, she could take kindly to it, or outright reject it completely. Either way, she was the only one who decided in the end. She was, after all, the School Captain. The paper still in his hand, if she told him directly to save her number, he would. But if told not to, he would do as David instructed, and burn the paper, to leave no physical trace, as he waited for her to reply.

"Mitsuki Park? My name is Kazuya Hikari, also known as Alexander or Alex, though you would know me as Ryuu."
Mitsuki was silent, the phone pressed lightly against her ear as she walked through the halls of school. Her attention was divided at the moment into three categories: The first was Ryuu. The boy who she had fought for the School Captain title not too long ago. She did not question how he managed to get her number, nor was she curious why he was calling her. He would make his point, and if he took too long and beat around the bush, she would hang up on him. The second was her surroundings. Being School Captain meant that you had to have your guard up literally 24/7, even when at home and asleep. Mitsuki is, however, lucky to have Andrew and Reita, who are technologically talented. High security at their apartment - though to say they have just one apartment would be a lie. And the third: The fight unfolding before her.
To say that Mitsuki was busy stopping fights would be a lie. But to say that she was tired by doing them herself, wouldn't. She needed to round some pillars, but she was taking her time in choosing the right people. It was unfortunate for her that the first time she chose students to fit the pillar positions, it went...well, it didn't go too well. The first time, nearly all of them disappeared. The second time, it was her own wrong doing. She was always out of school, and to be honest, did not deserve the title at the time. Without even a warning, she disappeared.
"David Blaze recommended me for Student Body President."
So when she heard Ryuu's words ring true to her ears, she frowned just a bit, only because if David Blaze recommended Ryuu for the Student Body President title, then it was definitely for some good reason. She stopped walking, eyes staring warily at the scene before her.
"Location?" she would ask, before approaching the group of four students that were in a scuffle with one another. On his end, faint noise of the fight could be heard. Once he told her his location, she would hang up, break the fight, and head on over to where he was.

The minute Alex heard Mitsuki pick up, although he heard no sound coming from her end, it meant she was staying silent, but listening. He then began to speak, introducing himself, and getting to the point of why he was calling her in the first place. “Rooftop.” He said simply, as he heard the faint sound of a scuffle taking place in the background, meaning a fight was occurring nearby, and more than likely, Mitsuki was planning to break it up, being the School Captain and all. He then hung up after hearing her hang up, and placed his cell back into his pocket, before leaning against the metal chain link fence, as he waited for Mitsuki to come. The fact she had asked for his location meant one of two things: She had taken what he had said, that David had recommended him as the Student Body President kindly, or she was coming to reject what he had asked directly to his face.
Alex closed his eyes for a brief moment, shutting out the rays of the sunset, leaving him in complete darkness. What he had told both David and Gabriel was the truth, although he did not know completely what true strength was, he had learned a little about what it was. But even so, his resolve and heart was strong. He would do what he could, to make a difference, and he would protect what he must protect. He would protect Emily, no matter what. That alone, spurred him forward. He slowly opened his eyes, as he pulled his hands out of his pockets, and folded his arms across his chest. What ever the reason was for Mitsuki to come to where he was, he would take and accept it, as he waited for her to arrive.

OOC: Sorry for the late reply! I forgot I was in this thread. :[
She made her way up the stairs that led to the rooftop, arms swaying gently beside her. She made her footsteps audible, letting Alex know before hand that she - or someone - was on their way to the rooftop. The young Asian pushed open the door and, with her eyes adjusting properly to the change of light, turned towards Alex. Her face was still; she had done a lot of thinking on her way to the rooftop. Though in truth it had only been at most 10 minutes, she had managed to get a lot of thinking done! She did not come up with an answer yet, however, when he asked for the title of Student Body President. She stared at him blankly, planning on asking Alex exactly what David had asked him, but she in truth did not know that he had already been asked. She assumed he did, but...
"Why?"

Alex stayed where he was standing as he heard the sound of footsteps echo from behind the door of the stairs leading to the rooftop. A couple minutes later, the door was pushed open, as Alex slowly lifted his head up, making eye contact with the School Captain herself, Mitsuki Park. He saw her turn towards him, as he calmly gazed at her, waiting for her to speak, though all he got so far, was a blank stare. "Why?" Alex couldn't help but chuckle softly at Mitsuki's question, David had asked him the exact same thing the moment he had entered. But it was a legitimate question, and Alex didn't mind answering it again, as he lifted his head up, staring up at the night sky, a small smile on his face.
"... For all my life... I wanted strength. I didn't want those things precious to me to be taken from me anymore," Alex began, as he closed his eyes, "But to have strength means to invite disaster to come your way. And strength alone... can't really protect you." He opened his eyes, and looked directly at Mitsuki, staring directly at her. "If I have the ability to make a difference, why not put it to good use? There are those who do absolutely nothing, there are those who are idealistic, but don't do anything, and there are those who want to do something, and actually do it. I want to make a difference, no matter how small it is. I will protect what I must protect."

"... For all my life... I wanted strength. I didn't want those things precious to me to be taken from me anymore. But to have strength means to invite disaster to come your way. And strength alone... can't really protect you."
That depends on your definition of strength. Strength could be anything. Could be how much one can lift, or it could be the overall character of a person. One can be 'strong' in a sense of...well, everything. Strong mentality. Strong ability of to sense others' incoming attacks. Hard to explain, but you catch the drift, eh?
"If I have the ability to make a difference, why not put it to good use? There are those who do absolutely nothing, there are those who are idealistic, but don't do anything, and there are those who want to do something, and actually do it. I want to make a difference, no matter how small it is. I will protect what I must protect."
His last sentence irritated her. He would protect what he must, hm? How is he to protect others if he can not at first protect himself? Though the boy had heart, Mitsuki - for now - was going to assume that's all he had. Although a drive to achieve something was great, but if you can't back up your words with actions, then...there would be a slight problem. Mitsuki didn't want to appoint him as a pillar, only to lose him as one with someone else in a week or two. Yet, at the same time, Mitsuki has the power to change her pillars as she sees fit.
"If you have the ability to make a difference, then put it to good use. If you want to make a difference, then make one. That does not answer my question. Why you want to be Varsity Captain?"
He answered what he simply wanted to do. But he could do all of that without being the Varsity Captain. So what made him want to be VC? For the fame?
