Sara let the door fall closed behind her as she entered her apartment. Looking around, she felt a pang of sadness. The place was a dump. Some crappy little apartment on some seedy little street. The walls were supposed to be white, but instead seemed darker somehow, giving the apartment a dirty, lonely feeling. It was only a small one bedroom, and the kitchen and living room were small. They seemed slightly bigger though as the rooms were almost bare because she hadn't had much time to pick and choose what she was bringing with her. She had the essentials, and that would hold her over for now.
Dropping her keys on the table next to the door she walked to her room, pulling her hair from the ponytail as she opened the door and flicked on the light. As small and... gross as the bathroom was, she really wanted to get a shower. She was just getting back from her daily run and a shower felt like it would be a gift from God right now. She quickly stripped off her clothes, leaving them in a pile on the floor and grabbed the towels she had left on the bed.
Sara then turned and walked into the bathroom directly across from her room. She turned on the water to let it warm up as she checked that her shampoo was still there and turned on the small shower radio. The reason for the radio was simple. She didn't want to think. It was the same reason she liked to run. She didn't really have time to think. And she had a lot to think about. It had only been one day since she had seen Matrim at the beach, and what had happened was still hurting, almost like a papercut... Annoying and painful, stinging whenever you touched it, and you couldn't get it off your mind... GOD she hated him D< Stupid Matrim, stupid man D< Climbing into the shower she roughly pulled the curtain closed, swearing under her breath.

CREEEEEEPERRRRRRR Matrim had over the past few days.... been doing the creeper. Researching, tracking and finding Sara. And while a few phone calls to the school may have done it, he had to go full out creeper and actually do some internet work and trace her movements from 42, tracing her to a small apartment complex. Then, he got the specific room number, and then... creeper-ness ensued. Matrim drove to the place, bringing some flowers with him. He didn't know what they were, but they were mostly white and pretty. So he showed up at her door, knocking lightly, but not getting a response. So he went to open the door... and sure enough it opened. He took a step inside, looking around, and saw clothes on the floor. The place didn't look good, it was small and mostly empty. Why was the door open? And why are there clothes on the.... WHAT IF SOMEONE BROKE IN AND IS-----Matrim heard radio and water in the bathroom, which would explain not hearing a cry for help over that noise, so he ran in busted through the door walked over, swung the shower curtains open and said, "Sara I'm here, don't worry!" Oh......... she's not being............ well......*cough cough* "heh.... hehehe......."

Sara was just lathering her hair in shampoo when the strangest thing happened. As her hands worked through the strands of her long hair, foamy bubbles running down her back and chest, there was a loud bang. Her mouth dropped open and she froze in shock as the shower curtain was thrown to the side.
"Sara I'm here, don't worry!"
Her muscles all locked, as though standing still would prevent anyone from seeing her as she sorted out what was happening.
"heh.... hehehe......."
And then everything went dark for a moment as her brain went on autopilot to KILL him. Moving as fast as she could she slammed her fist outward towards his chest, activating her qi. The green wind covered her body and if her hand connected, a loud boom would fill the small room and he would be thrown back from her. If he was smart, he would step back altogether and avoid her attack, but either way, it gave her room to grab her towel and wrap it around herself as she stared at him, breathing heavily, her hair was still piled on top of her head, held there by her pretty smelling shampoo. She tried to search for the words to say to him.
"Matrim! What... The... FUCK!?"

*BAM*
Matrim was hit in the chest. He would have blocked.... had he not been getting a funny feeling in his body as he stared at her, bubbles all over her wet body.... he was.... for lack of better terms... out of it. And then he snapped to when he was slammed back by her Qi, hitting the wall of her bathroom rather hard, the weight of his body breaking into the wall a bit. He hit his head on the back of the wall, once again not helping the blood flow properly to the brain, and she yelled at him.
"Matrim! What... The... FUCK!?"
"Okay... I can explain..... uhm...." And Matrim held out the flowers toward her, "Those weren't pity fucks... they weren't. And uhm... I showed up, the door was unlocked and there were clothes on the floor so I thought someone had uhm... I was worried and I rushed in and then bad stuff happened, and then good view happened.... and now I'm here.... holding flowers...... did I mention the flowers?"
Heh.... hehe..... hehehe.....
A cheesy grin crossed over his face, but he didn't move an inch away from where she had Qi'd him into the wall, his body having made sort of an outline of himself there. Goodbye security deposit.....

"Okay... I can explain..... uhm...."She crossed her arms over her chest, heat rising in her cheeks as she waited. "Oh really? Go ahead." The towel around her was getting wet from the water still pumping out of the shower head, and the shampoo was running down her forehead now, threatening to get into her eyes. He held out the flowers, and she sighed, shaking her head and rubbing shampoo from her face before it got to her eyes. He started to ramble and she pinched the bridge of her nose, as though fighting off a massive headache. She turned off the faucet and stepped out of the tub, trying to fight off anger. Weirdly though, it wasn't just anger. She wanted to laugh, but she would be DAMNED, if she was going to give him that satisfaction. "..... did I mention the flowers?""Matrim... Get the hell out." She would reach out to grab him by the shirt and attempt to shove him out the bathroom door, ignoring that stupid look on his face. Then she would slam the door shut and lean back against it for a moment to catch her breath. A small smile touched her lips at how ridiculous the situation was. It... kinda made her feel special. But not enough that she was ready to be civil with him. She glanced at the wall he had broken. Why did this not surprise her? She hadn't told him to leave, just to get out of the bathroom. If he chose to stay, then fine, but she was going to finish her shower before anything else. If he left her alone she would only be about 5 minutes, finishing washing the shampoo from her hair, and quickly using conditioner, then she would wrap a new, drier towel around herself and open the door and stroll into her room, not bothering to check whether he had stayed. Even though it really did matter... " But she couldn't let him know that... =_=" Idiot men...

"Matrim... Get the hell out." She said, grabbing him by his shirt and closing the door on him. He stood there, staring at the door still in shock until the water turned back on, and he put the flowers down on her bed before returning to the wall near the bathroom door, leaning against it before slumping down onto the floor, his knees at a 90 degree angle up with his elbows resting against the inside of his thighs. He leaned his head back against the wall, his eyes closed, waiting for her to come out. He wanted to leave, but he felt like he was a child in trouble, sent to their room awaiting punishment. No matter how scared he was to stay, he was even more terrified of leaving.
And so in that time he fiddled around not doing much, remembering what Sara looked like in that shower.... >3.... and then the door opened and he suddenly put on his best innocent look. As she walked out she may not have seen him right away, but he decided to speak up, "Hey.... uhm........ was it... a good shower?" He asked trying to decide how to get around to his point here. He knew what he wanted to say, he just didn't know if any of it was appropriate anymore.
Maybe I should have left... maybe she didn't want me to still be here....
He looked around once more, getting a good look at the place.....
God this place is a dump....

"Hey.... uhm........ was it... a good shower?"
She almost jumped at the sounds of his voice behind her, but she managed to hold most of it in check. It was probably the deep sigh that left her that gave away more then anything that he had scared her. She glanced behind her quickly, giving him a small annoyed look. What sort of question was that? She assumed he was here because he wanted to talk, but he seemed to be dancing around the subject. "It was alright... Even with the whole breaking and entering thing..."
Turning away again, and ignoring him as he looked around, she walked to her bed. She glanced quickly at the flowers, her face heating again. Guess if he was going to just beat around the bush, she would get on with it. She walked to the small dresser and pulled out a large t-shirt. Slipping it over her head, towel still wrapped around her, she asked him, "So why are you really here? You didn't have to come... I get it, and you don't need to feel bad."
In some deep part of her, she wanted him to love her... Closer to the surface, she found it was easier to expect his hatred, because then, if and when it came out that was what he wanted, it hurt less. In some way, she WANTED him to be here because he felt bad that she had figured out his feelings of pity towards her. It was easier that way.
Letting the t-shirt fall, she let the towel drop. The t-shirt was large enough it came down to her knees, and was more like a nightgown then anything else. He wouldn't have been able to see anything. Then she began pulling out a pair of pajama pants as she waited for his answer. It was still early, but she wanted her comfy clothes. She hadn't planned on going anywhere, and she would be damned if she let him count as "company".

"So why are you really here? You didn't have to come... I get it, and you don't need to feel bad." She said and he stayed where he was as she went and got on something else, a shirt and some pajama bottoms or something like that. Mostly he was focusing on the floor in front of him. The truth was, he didn't feel bad. Well, he did a little, but that wasn't why he was here....
"It wasn't pity," He said, slightly pissed off that she had ever thought that it was. He then looked up toward her, "It wasn't unless it was me that was being pitied by you. So get that thought out of your head," He said, getting up to his feet, "And while I feel a little bad, that's not why I'm here. I'm here because...."
He looked around once more, "... look we'll talk about that in a second, but I have to get this off my chest. This place is a dump, come live with me, Shayne, and Gale. Gale' can cook for you and clean your clothes for you, you can see Shayne regularly if you would like, and there's more than enough room. Not to mention you'd still have your own bathroom and shower."

Sara tripped out of shock trying to get her pants on. He wanted her to what?! She caught herself on the corner of the bed and finished pulling up her pants, tying them tightly around her waist. He was asking her to move in with him? She remained in stunned silence for a minute, looking around. "It's not... That bad... The apartment I mean... It's... It's ok..."
Wasn't it?
She rubbed her hands over her face and sat down on the edge of the bed, careful not to sit on the flowers. "How... How the hell did you find me anyways?" Live with him? The question was to buy time for her to think. Shayne and Gale. Who the hell was Gale? Sounded like a nanny... But to live there? With Shayne? She remembered back to the last time they had spoken... On good terms. It had been with Shayne. She remembered his sweet little baby face and felt a pang of sadness. She couldn't live there... As much as she wanted to.
She straightened, trying to decide if she was more offended, or happy he would ask. She went with offended. It made things easier. "My apartment is just fine as it is, and I can take care of myself. The day I move in with you, is the day my house burns down. Now spit out what you wanted." She continued to sit on the bed waiting for him.

"It's not... That bad... The apartment I mean... It's... It's ok... How... How the hell did you find me anyways?" She asked and he decided to answer that question with a long and complicated answer that would never make her want to ask more about it ever again.
"Well you see I called 42 and I was trying to ask them for my old student records and then I was curious as if you were going to 259 and so they said hold on they would check, because I was School Captain and all they sorta gave me a bit of leeway without asking too many questions and by accident they spouted off the new address that 259 has you down as and so I just remembered it in the back of my mind and I was driving by when I saw the place and thought I would come in and talk to you since I wanted to----"
"My apartment is just fine as it is, and I can take care of myself. The day I move in with you, is the day my house burns down. Now spit out what you wanted."
"Ask...... you..... some......." He stopped with that point, not expecting a no so harsh. He wasn't implying that she couldn't, only that she didn't have to. As for what he wanted to talk to her about, he wasn't sure if it'd end well anymore. He ruined it, and she clearly didn't want to hear what he had to say, not really anyway. If he told her now, she'd probably just laugh at him or kick him out. She didn't care about him.....
"Are... are you sure? I mean, I'm not trying to say you can't... I'm just saying.. it might be easier on.... look, are you absolutely certain you wont come?" He said, once again avoiding the thing he originally came to say.

As she watched him, she felt really bad. He looked genuinely surprised she had said no... Maybe she had been to harsh...? She dropped her gaze to the floor in front of her, to embarrassed to look at him now.
"Are... are you sure? I mean, I'm not trying to say you can't... I'm just saying.. it might be easier on.... look, are you absolutely certain you wont come?"
She glanced at the flowers next to her and pulled them closer to her. She needed to be careful about how she went about this now. The truth was... Not something she wanted to examine. She touched the petals as she spoke, wondering why she wouldn't just say yes. It's not like she was happy here. Oh... There was little detail off ODD... Damn that little fact. "I'm... Ok here. The apartment isn't that bad. Really though... What do you think would happen if I moved in with you hm? My apartment is fine for now..." This wasn't coming out right... She couldn't think of how to word what she was trying to say. She stood up, trying to make herself feel more in charge. "Yes, I'm certain. You still haven't told me why you're here." She tried to change the subject.

"I'm... Ok here. The apartment isn't that bad. Really though... What do you think would happen if I moved in with you hm? My apartment is fine for now... Yes, I'm certain. You still haven't told me why you're here." She said, and he got the picture... he knew she wasn't going to come along unless he did something drastic, which he wasn't above doing.
"Oh... that....." He said, turning away and walking toward the door, "It was nothing important, really, you don't have to worry. Besides, I don't think it's anything you want to hear... like you said, you're fine here... there's no way you'd ever want to...." He stopped, looked at her once more and decided to ask her, "You know what? Screw it, I have feelings for you alright? And I don't care if you don't give two shits about me I just need to get it out. So I'm sorry if I'm not good enough for you to take me up on my offer. I'm sorry that you don't care enough to at least humor the idea of living with me for more than a second when you can't be having a good time living here."
He walked out of the apartment slamming the door and walking away from it, if she didn't come out, he'd go do something a little drastic.... if she came out and stopped him, well, he'd probably end up doing something else....

Sara dropped slowly back onto the bed after he had left. The sound of the door slamming had finally woken her dog which had finally decided to make its entrance, crawling out from under the bed and whimpering as it stretched. The thoughts running through her mind were bouncing around in her head and she couldn't get a firm grasp on any of them. Her first instinct was to go after him, but her legs wouldn't support her. She tried to run through what he had said again.
And still... She couldn't bring herself to believe it.
He... liked her? And she had turned him down. Harshly to... She stood up to go after him but couldn't make herself walk. The fear that it just wasn't true, or that she had fucked it up somehow made her scared to go after him. What if he didn't want her to? He now thought he wasn't good enough for her? That wasn't true... She had just always believed he didn't want her, that she wasn't good enough for him.
He was an idiot. This wasn't her fault. It was his for not realizing how she felt about him. That she had felt that way about him for a long time, and every time he had scorned her, turned her down in ways that hurt far more then him telling her he hated her. That was her incentive. He was damn well not going to have the last word on this matter.
She moved quickly, opening the door to follow after him and then faltered again. To rush out there angry was going to only make things worse... Well wasn't that what she was good at? Making things worse? Why the hell change things now? She closed the door, staying in her home. Resting her head against the door, she knew why. Because she didn't want to make things worse. But she also didn't know how to make them better either.

Matrim set his hands on fire at first, gliding them along the walls. And then his feet, leaving foot steps of flames where he walked which soon caugh and traveled. He placed his hand along every door, making sure each door caught fire on the outside, but making sure each door wasn't going to be caught by something or any of it's inhabitants killed. There was only one way to make sure of that of course.... as he looked up he noticed there was no sprinkler system.
Good......
He then turned, igniting his entire body, flames caught and spread like wildfire now, he pulled the alarm, and kicked open the door to the staircase, taking a good look at the fire escapes on the map near it.
Good... she's close to a fire escape... besides, she could probably survive worse than this... I'll just find a place close by to watch just in case.
Matrim's flames extinguished (Not gonna put the stats since this is last post in this thread, but you can imagine. -4 to all stats except cha, cha - 9.) And he ran as fast as he could to a building nearby, finding a place to get a good look at the fire escape by Sara's apartment room. If he didn't see her come out, he'd go in and get her himself.

Sara stayed at the door, continuing the inner battle of whether to go after him or not. She didn't know how much time had passed, but before she knew it, her mind was made up for her. The fire alarms went off, blaring through the building. On the small PA's the super's voice came on. "This is not a drill. Please leave the building immediately."
You have got to be kidding me... It wasn't a large building, but what were the chances that Matrim DIDN'T have something to do with this.
She pulled open the door to her apartment and looked up and down the hallways. The fire was already spreading quickly. She felt a momentary snake of fear, and then she was acting. Knowing this was going to be pretty bad, and not willing to risk it, she ran to her room, grabbed all the clothes she could and threw them into a bad she kept handy next to her dresser. Then she grabbed her other important items, piling them into a second bag and grabbed the dog and his leashes.
Getting into the hallway, she realized how bad this was going to be. There didn't seem to be anyone still in the building. Ignoring the flames around her she made her way to the stairs and nearly tripped down them in her haste.
She finally made it out and her eyes immediately searched for him, sure that he would still be here. He didn't seem to be, and it made her sad. How could he not have seen this on his way out? So she instead joined the crowd of other tenants staring up in shock at the burning building.
