Lunch. Aureus had just walked into the cafeteria and had pushed his way through the lines and tables of people with his lunch held firmly in his right hand. He was going to the same spot he always ate lunch, out the side door around the side of the school. Today would be the same as all the others... or maybe not.
Before he got to the door, something caught the Freshmen's attention. It was the girl, the sadist that had some sort of relationship with Faust. He had seen her around a few times, and even had some classes with her. Although he hated to admit it, there was something interesting about her. Something he felt he could learn from her. Lunch would be different today.
With a sigh Aureus changed his course and headed towards the dark haired girl. There weren't many people at her table, and none sitting right next to her anyway. Before he got close, he mentally went over everything he knew about her. She knows Faust. She's a sadist. Appears to be a loner. Seems intelligent. Seems dangerous. It wasn't much to go on, but it was about all he could find out watching from afar. Now, how best to start off the conversation? She probably wouldn't be too thrilled about his presence, so maybe he could play off that.
He took a seat next to her a kept silent for a few moments. He wasn't the kind of person that started chatting you up as soon as he sat down. Unsure of how exactly to kick the conversation off, Aureus decided to let her start.

Anja would look down at her plate, not at all tempted to eat the food. She knew that with her job later on tonight and not being able to get a bite to eat, that she had to shove it down her throat somehow. She would pick up the plastic fork with her slender fingers with her right hand before taking some brocolli onto the points of the white plastic. Her mouth would open as the broccoli was placed onto her tongue so she could chew it. It was then that Aureus would sit next to her. She would stay silent for a few moments, wondering his purpose before she would look to him with the gleaming hazel eyes of hers directly into his own. She did not turn her body to face him, only shifted her head. Her hand held onto the fork whilst her tongue ran over her teeth and she thought of what may happen with the fork should he tick her off with something. Naturally, she did not know him, she did not know what to suspect. She narrowed her eyes in suspicion of him before demanding. Anja's typical nature.
"What do you want?" Her tone was pithy and harsh. There was no use in having a delicate conversation about the weather prior. He was there for something, so she would ask what he needed. She was not about to be made a mendicant for information from him when it appeared as if he was wanting information himself. As to if he received would be another story all together. Beggars don't always get the money they ask for on the streets. Anja wouldn't open up to the freshman, especialy when he had proved no use to her...yet. If he were to waste her time, there would be a price to pay as there was with everything when it came to deal with Anja. The sooner he got away, she thought, the better. She didn't need to fraternize with a child. The "senior" seemed almost perturbed by his presence.
She would finally set the fork down idly but her gaze remained intense and focused on his. The beautiful Romanian awaited his answer, saying nothing more than what she needed to. He clearly had the audacity to approach her, therefore she would entertain him in listening to his question or statement. That's all she had to do, she hoped. Then again, the kid had the audacity to approach the sadist. Redundancy intended. A sadist who had such a grip on such a powerful person was not somebody to be trifled with. Therefore, if he posessed this boldness, it may be worth her time to play a few games with him.

Well that didn't work out. He had hoped the girl would be annoyed enough to saying something a bit more revealing. It was a pretty cruddy plan, but it was all he had to go on. Considering the circumstances, things were still the same. He might as well go with what he knew and hope for the best. "So, what's with you and Faust?" He asked off handedly. If he had guessed correctly, she wouldn't be able to lie about this. Well, not without the tell tale signs anyway.
Although his lunch was lying on the table, he didn't plan on eating it. Not yet anyway. He just had this thing about eating around people he didn't trust. It was a bit weird...but than again most things about the Freshmen were weird.

Anja would arch her eyebrow, wondering why he even cared. It was none of his concern and it certainly wasn't intelligent of him to even inquire into it. She would stand up then, taking her tray before looking down at the young boy. A surge of what would appear agitation would glint in her eye dangerously as she felt her blood boil within her. Her knuckles even turned white at the the grip she had on her tray. She would set the tray down then and lean over him. Her face became close to his, a few centimeters away. Her right hand would drift up, a finger bringing his chin up so he could look directly into her eyes. With a a sneer, it would almost appear as if she would demonstrate for him what was up, but on second thought she would merely state, voice barely above a whisper.
"None. Of. Your. Fucking. Business. Unless you have something worthy of my time, then I suggest you leave me the fuck alone. Got it? With what has happened in the past has absolutely no relevance to you-- none what so ever. So, before you witness first hand what is between him and I, I suggest you get the fuck away. But then again, maybe I'll enjoy another rag doll. I love stealing innocence, which you certainly posess in my eyes." The nail from her fingertip that was underneath his chin would then just lightly dig into his flesh, only to get a sharp, though not necessarily painful jab. It was clear she was containing herself, something that she would not have done should it have been somewhere else.
"I can see it in your eyes, the innocence of a child...I think it would be a pity that you had to loose that." She would whisper then, though this time in his ear, her soft cheek brushing his own as she pulled away without another word. The right hand moved up further, to run through his hair. Suprisingly, her touch was gentle, not at all forceful in this situation. The smirk, however, was a small, sadistic curl of her full, pink lips. She would pick up her tray and walk away without much more of a glance. She wondered, however, if he would follow her. He seemed, so far, the type to do that, if he even dared to ask a question like that.

There it is... Aureus thought when he saw the obvious annoyance in her eyes. At the time most of his focus was on those eyes, so he didn't know what her hand was doing until it reached his chin. When it did, he flicked it off with two fingers. She may have thought she was intimidating, but the Freshmen wasn't even going to give her that satisfaction. Despite the absence of the hand, he still maintained eye contact. It was curious, the way she spoke so quietly, her words contradicting the tone. But maybe she liked to make her threats personal, they certainly would be more effective that way.
She said basically what he imagined she would. The schizo than had to second guess why he was even wasting his time with her. What exactly could he gain from this little exchange? Nothing that he could think of. Her relationship with Faust wasn't important either, it was just one of the only things he knew about her. Maybe he was just feeling impulsive that day. Maybe he just hadn't met enough people like her. People that thought they were in control. People that thought no one else knew their little mind tricks. Maybe her little pokes, prods, and rubs worked on other men, but not him. She was all too simple. Why trust someone obviously so hostile?
"And I think you're assuming too much." He said simply, not bothering to hide his disdain for her. Although she was a bother, she was the only real entertainment available at the time. Therefore, he followed after her, not bothering to pick up his lunch. He would be sure to keep his distance, she was probably counting on the fact that he'd follow.
