Personality: Tai is a man who wears his ass in his sleeve and his heart on the tip of his d***. Or so he would rather have everyone believe, if he could deceive the world. Having been in relative isolation for six years and subjected to an arduous experimental process, it's a wonder that he isn't more solemn, but that is as it is: Tai spites those he hates, spites those he loves in what could be seen as a feeble attempt to guard his own, very fragile heart. His boorish attitude, vulgar mannerisms, S&M tendencies and otherwise unappealing attitude is heavily built upon to hide a heart of gold. Not disregarding his faults, though, he is ridiculously stubborn to a fault, proud of who he is, has an ego to boost, and may be a little more morally compromised then others. When, however, you take a brush to those fossilized "good" traits (or better yet, a shovel), and you'll find an incredibly loyal, caring man. ---Provided he doesn't try to beat your face in with a metal pipe first, though.
Biography: Due to trauma, Tai lost almost everything but his first name. The years before he turned eighteen are mostly a black hole in his mind---one that he doesn't bother to dig up on for his own sanity's sake. All that he knows is that he was a failed experiment, the foreign Qi that they attempted to inject into his body having failed. At the time, he did not know what it was they were trying to make him do. The only clue to it being that this "Qi" that failed to mesh with his body, retarding his physical and mental abilities was of the blood of a "Lightning Dragon."
He doesn't talk about his past, not willingly. Of course, that may be because of the lack of a past, painful procedures aside.
Tai's history, following the fall of the Correctional Facility was that when he was freed by a certain fellow (to whom his fellow compatriots identified as "Masaru"), he had only a little bit of time before the destruction of the facility itself. A piece of concrete slammed into his head, and he fell back into a small office. Instinctively crawling, he found himself underneath a hard, wooden desk where he passed out. This desk ended up saving his life.
When he came to, half an hour later, Tai took up what was to become his signature weapon: a broken off metal pipe. Not knowing what to make of himself, he proceeded to search the wreckage, helping the volunteers in digging up survivors as well as... attempting to search for old documents of his person. The most he had found in a particular scientist's desk was a dog tag...
At a later time, this suggested to him that he formally had joined the army. Later speculation with "Unfettered" would draw on the possibility that Tai may have volunteered for this program. However, at the time, this was all he could find for himself.
Going back to his wreckage search, Tai discovered "Unfettered" and things went from there. "Unfettered" had him bring him out and "Tai" obliged with a punch to the boy's stomach. It was then that Tai became the first to be aware of the boy's declining health, seeing that the playful punch left the German even more winded then would be considered normal (yes, even under the circumstance).
Being convinced to bring the German back to his home, "Unfettered" let Tai stay with him. In later days, the German formally allowed Tai to stay with him while the man attempted to figure things out for himself under the condition that Tai take on "Unfettered" as the German's legal guardian. With not much of a life to work out for himself, Tai agreed (with more then a few expletives).
From there, Tai has basically integrated and been integrated into the German's life as a confidant and consistent gang member. With some varying degrees of resentment on a personal scale, Tai has come to view "Unfettered" as a bit of a savior to his life (though he'll never admit that) in the small, but for himself, necessary desire to have purpose.
