*Ashley switched foot and pushed herself away from the lightpole that had served as her support. She had been waiting for the bu, it was delayed but wasn't busses always that? She moved a hand into the little bag she had brought with her, a nightmare before christmas bag which she had aquired the day before. Poor little girl, lucky young Ashley. She sighed softly and set in motion, the hand now coming up from the bag again this time holding her buscard, Running it through the machine in that automated fashion that told people that she had done it a million times before. The card went back into the bag, the bag would be zipped and Ashley set in motion once again, passing by the first two rows, she located herself on the outer seat of row three, all the other seats on the row was taken. She didn't mind, her thoughts were elsewhere anyways. It would be the first time she would enter highschool, far older than the average age. But what could she do, fate had played her hand badly, like a pair against a royal flush... you thought you had a chance but everything suddenly hits you smack dab in the face. Typical, just another day in another persons life*
*the bus stopped, Ashley traced herself onto her feet, plunging the left ear plug into her left ear, a click on the button and the cd would start playing... it was outdated to have a cd player but it was what she could afford and besides, she was proud of her cd collection. current cd was "Crüxshadows - Ethernaut" one of her own favourite Industrial cd's. Not a single person sent her a second look, she was just another face in the crowd after all... The long black coat with the hood didn't help to make people more intrested in her, the hood was of course up, hiding her face from the grim world that she hated so very much. But it was still that world she was caught in now. Feet traced her out of the bus, a lot of students took the same route, Ashley decided to slow her pace, end up behind everybody else. Let them be by their buisness and Ashley would be about her own buisness. The way she preferred things, not getting involved, not speaking with anybody. Just being there, like a shadow with a margin of free will. The thing nobody notices but is such an eyesore should you ever notice it. Ashley was such a thing and she was walking right there, down the tiled path to the high school, Hood flipped up, sleeves slightly too long for her entire hand. It even had a bit of a drag, she vanished completely in it. That was why she liked it so much and aquired it in the first place after all, in order for her to disappear in it. Her sharp heels clacked against the ground as she passed the school's outer gate, now being in the school grounds for her first time. The sight wasn't exactly impressive, more depressive if anything. Ashley simply decided upon nothing, it said her absolutely nothing. It was gray, dull and uninspiring. Had she been in a better mood she might even had liked it. Problem was that she wasn't in a good mood, content yeah, but not good.
Feet stopped, she reached into an inner pocket of the coat, withdrawing a package of camel cigarettes and a cheap lighter, A cigarette was removed from the package, placed between her pale lips and the lighter flicked on, she inhaled, lightning the cigarette and getting her first fix of nicotine. She pocketed the lighter and cigarette pack again before closing two fingers on either side of the cigarette removing it in order for her to puff out a cloud of dark smoke, she continued slowly towards the school again. She had all the time in the world for all that she cared, she felt decent enough slowly creeping towards the school like this, not thinking about anything nor anyone. Just listning to one of her favourite bands and having a good tasting cigarette between her pale lips. She was content, more than she normally could say about herself*
"Guess that even fate sometimes runs out of cards and have to sit over for a round"
*Ashley's hauntingly beautiful voice was barely hearable outside of the hood, it drowned in the noise of her music, but she didn't feel a need to hear what she said anyways, it wasn't important, just another requirement for normal humans to feel assured of themselves. She reached the stairs to the entrance. She stopped there, the cigarette was only halfways and she wasn't about to waste it by disposing of it now and it would be a waste to kill it also, she might just as well enjoy it finished here, She shuffled to the lowest steps, right foot placing itself on the first step, her body on the third and the left food was lying almost horizontal on the second step, tunneling underneath her other leg. Here sat Ashley, her cigarette the most important thing in her life currently. This was her first day at school*
