Alex stood in the middle of one of the parks in Long Beach, staring up at the clear night sky. He had been in his apartment, working on the homework assigned to him. After he had finished his assignment, he saw through his window it was a beautiful night out, hardly any clouds out in the sky, so as soon as he was done, he grabbed his black overcoat, and headed to one of the parks located away from the city, and closer to the ocean. Stretching his arms over his head, as he looked up at the sky, he couldn't have picked a better spot, there were hardly any city lights around, so he could see the stars clearly. And since it was a clear night, it was perfect for stargazing.
Plus, the evenings here were warm, and with no clouds in the sky, there was little chance of rain falling on Alex. And nobody liked to get wet, unless it's at a pool, and you have a bathing suit on. He looked up at the moon, which was shining brightly in the sky, and there were no clouds in sight to block the view. His headphones firmly clamped on his ears, he was listening to his music as he stargazed, he was tuned out from the world around him. A warm breeze fluttered at the edges of his jacket, but Alex was so tuned out from the world, that he didn't realize there was someone walking towards him. Only when the person came close enough did he lift his head up and look slightly behind him. "...?"

"Thier beautiful, aren't they?"
David stood behind Alex, looking up at the sky with a sliver of like and fire in his eye.
"I used to stop and watch them all the time, just gaze at them and think. Now..."
He brought his head back down and stared at the boy. It had been a week or two since they had spoken, and David in that time had solidified himself as the new School Captain. the reason for Davids presence here wasn't, at first, to talk about it. He had just been on a walk through the park, enjoying the clear night sky and the light breeze that wafted intoxicating smells from the city. He had seen the young boy, and decided to speak with him, the matter of this kids Pillarship coming to mind. He felt bad that Mitsuki was no longer there to follow through on what they had talked about, but he felt that if he talked with the guy he might get a sense of where they had stood.
"Alex Hikari. How you been man?"

"Yes, they are." Alex agreed, as he lifted his head up, looking up at the night sky. "Stargazing has always been one of my hobbies, it helped me to stop and take a break from life." Alex turned and looked a David, as the older boy brought his head back down and stared at Alex. Alex had of course, heard the news that Mitsuki herself had appointed David the new School Captain, and while he was taken aback by the news, it was not all that surprising. David was, in his own right, strong, Alex having witnessed his abilities back at 42. But the Pillarship did not, surprisingly, come to Alex’s mind. Although he was set on the title of Student Body President, and he still was, tonight was not a night of business, tonight, would be just a night of casual talk.
"Same as always David, same as always. Eat, sleep, do homework, try to not get my ass handed to me on a silver plate and carted off to the hospital," He replied casually, as he smiled slightly, "I suppose congratulations are in order." That was as much as Alex was going to be saying regarding the Pillarship, any more that would be said, would only be said if David himself asked about it. For now, Alex would leave the subject alone and at that. "And how have you been David?" Alex asked, as he pulled his hands out of his pockets. "I would assume you were taking a stroll through the park? This particular spot does give quite a nice view of the stars."

He took a deep breath.
"Thanks, i guess. Little sudden but i'll try my best." He looked around. "Yeah, i like this place because its so calm, away from the hustle and bustle of cars and sirens and work." He looked to Alexs' eyes. "I wanted to talk with you about becoming a pillar...I didn't intend to do it tonight, but i guess now is as good a time as any." He grinned before looking at the ground. "Actually, i think this is exactly the spot where i fought Areon Fury when i was SC of 259 the first time." He threw his head back and laughed.
"How ironic."
He lunged forward, throwing a hard right punch for Alexs' cheek. It would be strong, but not to the point of knockout (Punch strength= 60) because he wanted this boy to feel some pain. After the punch he would unzip his dark black sweater and toss it to the ground. He cracked his neck before looking Alex square in the eyes.
"I spoke with Mitsuki about you, and she says your level headed. However, i have reason to believe your physical capability to hold on to a pillars title inadequate, as did she." He would snap bring his arms up to his face, his left hand open with his palm facing the young Hikari. His right fist would be in a loose fist, clenched near his chin. His eyes were hard, and he would not be holding back for this boy.
"Try to prove us wrong."

Alex wasn't surprised, since when has ANYONE ever expected to be named School Captain just out of the blue? It was definitely something to get used to. The minute David brought up the subject of Pillars, Alex fixed his gaze on him, looking at his senpai with a calm expression as he saw him throw his head back and laugh from remembering the old times, his eyes flashing in shock as he saw David lunge forward, he was fast, so fast, that in fact, Alex barely had any time to react, and barely managed to turn his cheek in the direction David's right fist was heading for, as he felt the fist crash into his cheek, pushing him back, his shoes grinding against the concrete ground. Once Alex came to a stop, he lifted his hand up, and gingerly touched his cheek, wincing slightly from the pain. He was going to feel that one in the morning, though it wasn't as bad as he thought. "... That hurt." Alex simply said, as he grinned evilly at David, who had unzipped his sweater and tossed it to the ground, before cracking his neck and looked at Alex square in the eyes. "... That so huh?" He replied, as he rolled his shoulders, loosening up his joints, before clapping his hands together.
"Then if that's case, I'll show you what I can do!" Alex lunged forward, the weighted anklets he wore reducing his speed slightly, but that was the price he paid for wearing them for his training. His hands held loosely in front of him, Alex launched a simple jab, nothing fancy, since Alex was aiming for a particular spot, David's solar plexus. If Alex made contact with that spot, which was a big if, Alex would be able to see where the torso twitches. All movement originated from that point, that, and the sternum. If Alex focused on those two spots, he could counter any move, or work around a combo if the counter was not fast enough. Simple moves always gave a rather good evaluation of the skills of both fighters, and since the opponent was at full capacity too, a special or complicated move gave the opponent a good chance to block, counter, or evade. But like he said, that was big if. Anything could happen, and Alex had learned from his past fights, appearances are not everything. kept his focus, and breathed. Knowledge, when used correctly, is a powerful thing. And this knowledge helped Alex, in more ways than one.

David tightened his diaphragm muscles, watching with interest as the blow crashed into his midsection, sliding his body back. He laughed. "Not bad." He lunged forward, throwing an uppercut to the chin with full force. Alex Hikari wanted to be Student Body President. This was the highest ranking pillar he would have working under him. David didn't know that he was ready for that, but he would see. If not, he may make him Varsity Captain, and if he really fails, he may not make a pillar at all.
Time would tell.

Alex's face stayed serious, even though his strike had crashed into David's midsection, sending him sliding back a bit. He brought his hands closer to his body, his eyes focusing on David, Alex reacted the minute he saw David lunge forward once again, this time sending an uppercut to Alex's chin. The fact that David's arm had to travel a longer distance, allowed Alex to adapt to it. Timing his move, Alex leaned his head back, pointing his chin at the sky as he felt the wind pressure from the on his neck as the uppercut connected with his chin, but not at full force as David had intended. Simultaneously, Alex would swing his left arm outwards in a wide hook, aimed at David's face.
Also, as soon as he was clear of the uppercut, Alex would pull himself down to a crouch. Whether or not his left hook was blocked, caught or dodged, Alex would then throw himself forward with both of his feet, bringing his right shoulder down upon David's stomach as he came in under David's raised arm. Alex was determined to prove that he was worthy of the title of Student Body President. It didn't matter to him how many injuries he would acquire and endure for it, he would show just how determined he was for it.

It would be neither caught nor dodged. David wanted this boy to try and damage him. To make him bleed. He wanted to feel this kids power. The fist connected with his face in full force, David whipping his face away and back in an instant. Blood came from his bottom lip, but he ignored it and the stinging pain that came. The uppercut he had thrown? He knew it wasn't likely to be a game ender, so he whipped it back and with his other hand threw a hard right hook. It was like simultaneous. Alex would still be retracting his fist when Davids punch launched.
He had to admit, the boy showed determination. He liked that. He was honest and had a fair outlook on individuals. He would ask the boy some questions later...questions he figured this kid to fail- especially when leaning on what he had said about protecting those he loved. David wouldn't continue the fight to the knockout, but he would get to the point where Alex was exhausted and nearly buckling. Then he would know that he had given it his all. He charged his Qi- just in case the boy used his. David wanted this a test of physical strength, not that of a supernatural one. Perhaps the Student body president- wannabe wouldnt realize this, and perhaps he would. Either way, David was prepared for it.
OOC((Qi charged. Ready for use in next post.))

This was the first time Alex had ever experienced someone actually taking the strike, instead of catching or dodging it. His fist slamming into David's face in full force, he saw David whip his face away and then back in an instant, as Alex began to retract his arm. His bottom lip bleeding, David pulled back his arm that he had used for the uppercut, and with his other arm, threw a hard right hook. But although Alex's left arm was just starting to retract, his right arm was prepared, he snapped his right arm out instantly, and barely managed to grab onto David's wrist, the force from it sending him skidding backwards. He was able to minimize the damage only because he leaned his waist in the opposite direction, going along with the blow. He managed to cushion the impact, but grunted softly as he felt David's fist pressed up against his stomach. He was going to feel that one in the morning. David was strong, and Alex knew it. The only thing Alex had going for him, was his ability to think logically and come up with plans on a whim.
But in all honesty, Alex did not want to use his Qi, he wanted to face David without any boosts, he wanted to fight David with pure physical abilities, nothing else. This was more than just a test of whether he was worthy for the title, this was Alex testing himself, to see just how much he had grown, and just how much more he could learn and improve. Learning was a continuous thing, it didn't just stop once you graduated from high school or university. Wasting no time, Alex executed his move. Sliding his right foot in between the two fighters, Alex would place his left hand at his right armpit. Simultaneously, he would pull David's right hand up, giving himself an opening as he snapped his body forward, while swinging his left arm outwards, smashing his left elbow into the side of David's ribs. A lethal and effective attack. And knowing where his opponent's left hand was, Alex knew that this attack was most likely going to be block, which was why he would then left his left leg up and snap it downwards into David's right shin.

Wrong wrong wrong.
David would take the grip on his wrist, allow it to happen, because he knew that fighters whodid such things generally didn't think about the thought process of the individual they were fighting. By grabbing the limb, statistics showed you were getting ready to step in and strike. He did it all the time- it was a favored move of his. As Alex would step in, David would step right and throw a palm strike, this being done right after Alex moved forward but before the strike from the pillar-wannabe. It would be planned in such a way that, with the close proximity of thier bodies, Alexs' own movement would be an advantage for him.
He could tell- Alex had grown since fighting Mitsuki. He had grown a lot- but not by enough. David could see that his Capabilities far exceeded Alex Hikari's, and while this wasn't always a bad thing, it just showed that he had work that needed to be done before he could claim the title he wished. Student Body President, while an admirable goal, was suppose to be the second strongest fighter and kid in the entire school. Alex was strong mentally, and had some skill physically, but his current attributes probably wouldn't be enough to hold the position, or to really flex his authority as such.
If his strike landed, David would retract the hand which would likely be covered in the kids blood, the boy probably sent stumbling backwards from such a harsh blow. He would then hold up his other hand to signal a stop.
"You are strong Alex, i'll give you that." He bent down, picking up the shirt that would be now to his left, wiping the blood on it.
"But the Student Body President has to be an individual who can keep the title without much worry. You, while mentally capable, are not yet physically adapted to that kind of position." He smiled. "If you are willing, i would like to accept you as Varsity Captain Though. You have skill and a steady mindset- perhaps not the strongest person in the school, but you are well on your way to it."
He would toss his shirt over his shoulder and fold his arms.
"Up to you- i would be glad to have ya."

Heh. That was all that ran through Alex's mind as he saw David throw a palm strike just before Alex threw his own strike, but after he had stepped forward. With no time to react, all Alex could do was lean his waist in the opposite direction, going along with the blow, as he felt the blow slam into him. He managed to cushion the impact, but it sent him skidding backwards, forcing him to relinquish his grip on David's wrist in order to keep his balance and prevent him from toppling backwards. Clutching his side, as blood began to seep through his shirt and hand, Alex actually... smirked, as he took in deep slow breathes, to ease the pain from his injury. He knew what he was getting into when he stepped up to claim the title of Student Body President. The Student Body President was considered the second strongest person in the school, and Alex knew that he was not the second strongest person in the school, one of the few that were strong, yes, but like everyone, he still had much to learn and grow.
He saw David hold up his other hand, signalling they were stopping. "That means a lot... coming from you David..." Alex said in between breathes, as he saw David pick up his sihrt and wipe the blood on his hand off. Alex's blood. "... I knew what I was getting into when I staked my claim to the title. I knew I do not yet have the physical abilities for the title, and even though I had experience as a Student Body President, I still have a ways to go, before I can even be assured that I could maintain my hold on the title comfortably." Alex returned David's smile, seeing his abilities stacked up against David's showed Alex just how much more he had to learn and grow. "... I'd be honored to be your Varsity Captain." Alex replied, as he checked his injury, to see if it was still bleeding or not, as he saw David toss his shirt over his shoulder and fold his arms. "I'll get stronger, count on it. Not just because I won't give up on the Student Body President title, but because there is still much for me to learn and refine." Alex would then hold out his free hand to David, as he gave David a slight nod of his head. I'll get stronger... So I can protect the most important person in my life!

David would accept the hand, giving a grin to his new Varsity Captain and giving a firm grip.
"Glad to have ya. Some quick rules."
He would state them calmly.
"One, as a pillar under my command, you follow my orders. You know this- you have been a pillar before. If i call, you come. If anyone i have deemed worthy of an alliance or for protection needs us, you go. As a pillar, always lend your aid to other pillars. Protect those weaker than you. And most of all-" He gave a look that said it was the most important part. "Obey the law. Whether its someone you hate breaking it or someone you love, always adhere to it. You break the law, you are no longer my Pillar." He would, after stating these things, take a deep breath.
"Thats about it, besides trusting in me and your co-pillars." He shrugged.
"Any questions?"

Alex returned David's grin with a slight smirk, as he firmly shook David's hand, indicating how sincere he was. He then released David's hand, and listened carefully to the rules David laid out. The last rule Alex knew was the most important of all. He had been a Pillar before, Alex knew the protocols that came with the title, and he had no intention of breaking the trust David had placed in him by making him Varsity Captain. Trust was something hard earned these days, and once lost, was even harder to gain back. Alex folded his arms across his chest after David had taken a deep breath, and shook his head slightly. "... I have no questions... With that said, I shall kindly take my leave now."
Alex then turned around, his overcoat swishing slightly, but stopped after taking a couple steps forward. "Just don't lose your title... Blaze. You're strong, but it would be an awful shame to lose it to someone less worthy of it." Alex then headed out of the park. Varsity Captain huh? Not a bad night. Let us see whom else David has in mind as his two other Pillars... Stopping just outside the entrance to the park, Alex lifted his head up and stared up at the night sky before smiling slightly, and headed back to his apartment.
