History:
Rei was born in America, his parents were immigrants, first generation. They came from Tokyo, Japan when they were mid-twenties, escaping the 'family ties' that would have them be with others. His father was a smart man, who had done advanced engineering in Tokyo University, his mother, well she was a good cook and housewife. A failed art student. But they were happy as could be.
They moved to California not long before they had Rei. Being from a Japan they gave him a Japanese name, but one that sounded western at they same time not wanting him to stand out too much and be bullied. Safety first they thought. They had a small but workable inner city apartment big enough for the three of them and close to everything it was perfect.
As he grew up the new schooling systems were implemented, gang violence increased and the area around them seemed to degenerate. Rei was abducted once but was found a day later as the person who kidnapped slipped up incredibly easily and was caught. Rei was never affected by the abduction. He was around 10 when his father wanted him to learn a martial art, he was introduced to Judo, Aikido, Karate and many other eastern arts. The one that interested him the most was Sambo, a Russian martial art taught to the Secret police and Military. He liked it.
The older he got the more he was involved in violence, he never really instigated it but it just seem to seek him out so he began getting more violent, thus he was getting teachers advice! So he was constantly under threat of being hammered so he got serious about Sambo practicing almost daily. Taking up part time jobs to do extra lessons.
He was ready to start high school. He looked mature already, he was taller than his father already, with a strange color in his eyes. He had a habit of dressing above his age, and thus he pulled alot of older women who thought he was someone else. Yet he was still a virgin, far to shy about the situation to do anything. Around this time was when his father was offered a job in Washington, as a engineer designer for a large company. He pleaded with his dad to let him stay here, because he really did not wanna leave and his dad reluctantly agreed. Giving him a small apartment which was usually rented out for extra income. His father owned many such properties. So here he was, still in California with his own place, working part time jobs and in high school.
