Details: One of the nearby Enforcers who was acting as a bit of a half-assed bodyguard to the Japanese Enforcer Scientist was seen to be cooking some eggs over the open fire that happened to be this girl's hand, from apparent lack of control over her Qi. While the scientist escaped, the watching bodyguard had the gas mask he was wearing punched into his face, breaking his jaw five different ways, as he cursed in Filipino. The eggs smelled good, though, so before "Kaufman," the rescuing Student Dean of Public High School #259, proceeded to rescue the unconcious students laying about him, proceeded for a mid-rescue snack.
The eggs were excellent.
Deeming the woman's fire a natural culinary talent, "Kaufman" kept the pan held in her hand, as he let her be carried off by one of the school's stretcher teams, as a little token of appreciation. Perhaps the frying pan has some unknown, secret power... Or maybe "Kaufma" just did it for the lulz.10x Lulz +20 Strength +25 Strength When Used Against A Head With The User Exclaiming "FRYING PAN ATTACK!" +20 Intelligence Provides "WHACK" Or Any Other Onomonopeia Upon Impact

Minami and Hoku are twin, metal decorative war fans said to have been forged by a Japanese Craftsman in Northern Japan for a Daimyo in the early 1700's. It's first recorded appearance was in 1973, when it was sold to a man named Himaru Asahito during an auction. However, the man's house caught fire years later - and the two treasured fans ended up lost forever.
Obsessed with the beauty and construction of the original, a Filipino craftsman from Northern Luzon created his own version based on several pictures he found at a museum. Useless at it may have seemed, he created it with the sole purpose of having holes where perfume seeped through a bottle and onto holes on the tip of each curved end for a "refreshing breeze."
His invention didn't sell very well, and he ended up closing his business due to the market growing bad with time. He, then, sold the original creation, Hilaga and Timog to a woman named Layla Clavering.
Layla gave these war fans to Emily on her 14th birthday, and the girl continued it's use for fighting purposes until her 15th, where it broke after a fight with a fellow transferee. After the events with Dr. Sin and Regenesis, and prior to returning to 259 with Ryuu Hikari, Emily would fly to the Philippines to search for the man who had created these fans. The man had died of old age a year and a half prior to Emily's arrival. His son, who was said to have abilities that excelled his own father hesitantly accepted Emily's work.
Having no time to waste, she left the Philippines with the trust that the man would mail the special fan to her once it was ready. Interestingly, it was more than refined - it was almost reconstructed with brand-new material. No more were those holes that allowed the gas to trickle through; but the fan itself seemingly became even more powerful than before.
Having found her twin sister and Emily's wish to never part with her again, Emily would entrust "Timog" - "Hilaga"'s twin fan - to Drea. Construction:
The man who recreated Hilaga and Timog apparently knew very well what Emily needed: She had needed a sturdy, yet trustworthy weapon that eventually will be less of, or not at all, a hindrance to Emily's growth as a fighter.
He although, Created Hilaga and Timog significantly larger than the previous version; fully opened, it stood about 5 feet when held vertically, and had a diameter of 5 and a half. Each of them weighed an estimated 7 and a half pounds.
It was constructed by heating special coloured metal and forming them into long and hard sheets of metal that were half an inch thick, around 3 and a half feet long and around 4 inches wide. They are connected by two medallions with an Engraving of an stylized “I”. It is because in Baybayin: the Philippine revolutionary language, words that had the letter “K” on them were written that way. Interestingly, most adjectives in filipino start with the prefix “Ka-“.
Each fan is designed differently. Hilaga is designed to look like the Sun of the Philippine Flag, while timog is designed to look like waves at sea.
Engraved in the first sheet of metal that made Hilaga was the Filipino word “Kamatayan”, which means “Death”.
