Niles woke up about an hour and a half before school was too start. He wanted to be there a bit early so as to be able to find his first classroom on time. He ran a hand through his blure hair and got out of bed and threw his basic clothing on. Though as it seemed a wamr day he wrapped the hoodie around his waist tying the sleeves together to keep it up over the black jeans. He wore a basic white tee-shirt and then slipped his shades onto his head.
The young student went down to the kitchen and grabbed a bagel. He noticed a note from his dad saying that he'd be out late and that he had set aside some stuff for dinner wich was already in the microwave.
Niles headed out the door and started to head to school with a light Jog after slipping his shades over his eyes. About ten minutes later he reached the shcool. He had already been shown around a bit so he knew the basics of where to go.
He dropped his stuff off at his locker when a sophomore came up behind him with a smirk. "Looks like a new transfere. And it also looks like you haven't been truly introduced to this school. Allow me to break you in." he said and threw a right hok at the transfere's head. Niles ducked under the blow and darted to his right while kicking out with his left leg catching the guy in the gut sending him back a step.
Niles simply stood there. "I reccomend you back off. I need to get to class and I don't really look forward to harming you." he said calmly. The sophomore looked at Niles with a sneer. "Cocky son of a bitch. You don't think that kick really did anything did you. I'm gonna crush you." he said charging in again. Niles stood his ground and when the round kick came in his left arm shot out and to the side meeting the kick and stopping it. he ducked under another cross and his forearme met the knee headed at his face. Niles came back up with a left uppercut to the pun's chin but the blow had less effect that Niles hought as a fist sank into his gut literally lifting him from the ground sending him back.
Niles landed lightly on his feet but narrowed his eyes. I actually felt that one. guess I'm really going to have to fight. he thought and he rushed in leaping at his foe kicking out with his right leg to the guy's chest. The blow landed squarly and knocked him back a step. On his landing Niles spun around for a spin kick. It was well aimed and his heel hit the temple of the sophomore sending him staggering to the side holding the side of his head. Niles pressed the attack and used a left leg sidekick slamming the guys head into a wall. Niles repeated the attack until the guy wasn't consious. The wall was slightly cracked and covered in blood. The sophomore's head was bleeding freely as he lay there. Niles looked down at his shoe wich was covered in blood.
Well shit. I best get away from here. I'd rather not have this be known as my actions on my first day even if it was in defense. he thought and very casualy wqalked away doing his best to be discreet and hoped nobody had seen the fight.

Amazing. For the first time in at least a month Aureus was feeling...happy. Sleeping for a whole eight hours, eating a big breakfast, and having all your homework finished really did put you in a amiable mood. Dropping his empty bowl into the sink, the boy pulled his book bag off the chair and headed for the door. "See ya later, Ash." He called out to his step mother before stepping out into the cool October morning.
After a short twenty minute walk, the schizo was pushing open the doors of PHS 259. The building was a buzz with gossip, music, joking, and casual discussion. The Pillar was wearing his usual attire, which included a short sleeved black T pulled over a long sleeved white T, dark blue jeans, white and black new balances, and of course the studded fire gloves given to him by Jake.
It had taken a while, but people seemed to respect him, if even a tiny bit. He was known as one of the best fighters in the school, in addition to being a fair Pillar who helped you out when you needed it. The smaller gangs had learned to leave him alone, and actually avoid him when they were up to no good. Sending two of their stronger members to the hospital did that. Yes, for once everything was good in the world of Aureus Hayes.
While on his way to homeroom, the dark haired boy spotted a small squabble. It seemed one of the Sophomores had decided to 'greet' one of the transfers. Even this didn't make the Pillar any less happy. Especially since the new kid had won. Walking up to the downed aggressor, Aureus pulled him to his feet and threw him over his back.
"What...What the hell?" The boy muttered as he came to. "I'm taking you to the nurse. You got your ass handed to you by that transfer you tried to fight. I suggest you change your ways, because if you don't I might have to get involved," The schizo said calmly as he followed the transfer, wanting a word with him. "Fuck you, Pillar!" The Sophomore shouted. Wrong move... Instead of wasting his breath, Aureus stopped in the middle of the hallway, walked towards a row of lockers, and slammed the insolent little shit on his back into the wall. "Don't make it worse on yourself, please," The Pillar replied before continuing on.
"Hey, transfer!" He called out to the student ahead of him. Hopefully he wouldn't think Aureus wanted to hurt him. No, he just wanted to welcome him to the school.

Niles stopped dead in his tracks and looked over his shoulder. Busted. Wonder if i should make a run for it. He thought. But he decided to turn and see what this person wanted. Niles noted the guy had an unmistakable amount of authority to his very presence. And a lot of confidance. Not bravado or some macho thing. It was the same kind of demoenor Niles normally had. the self assurance that came from knowing that you could handle most things that came your way but knew better than to throw one's wheight around.
"Yeah can I help youwith something?" Asked Niles keeping his tone polite. He figured the less trouble he caused the better.

That makes things easier. Aureus thought to himself, happy that the boy had stopped and politely responded. Once the Pillar was close enough to the new student, he stopped and regained his slipping grip on the trouble maker on his back.
"You did a good job of taking care of yourself back there. I'm sorry you're experiencing such hostility on your first day, but it's nice to have you at 259. I'm Aureus, Varsity Captain and Pillar, nice to meet you," He said in a friendly tone. Normally the dark haired boy would have extended his hand for a shake, but his hands were busy holding the sophomore at the time.

Niles scratched his head curiously. Most of the time when he fought he got in serious trouble. Particularly as this was a Pillar standing before him. Apparently the guy realized that Niles had been defending himself. Probably the only reason he was so lucky right now. "Well thanks. I'm not used to it but the attacks aren't anything new to me. My last schol closed down due to a riot. I'm Niles. Just got here." He said. Niles still was slightly in awe. he hadn't met any of his old schools pillars. But they were said to be very capable fighters. Niles was pretty sure if he was foolish enough to attack the student before him he wouldn't last a second.

Nodding his head to the right, Aureus signaled for the transfer to walk with him. It would probably be best to get the Sophomore to the nurse, lest he mouth off again and be hurt even more. "That's good to know. 259 is pretty rough itself, if you didn't already figure that out. And there are a good number of fighters better than this moron," The Pillar said with a small chuckle. "As long as you don't act out, you should be fine. If you ever need help, don't hesitate to ask. I do more than beat up delinquents."

Niles followed Aureus figuring he'd like to hear what the guy had to say. Mostly he had confirmed what Niles was thinking about the school. Rough place. Bad fighters good fighters. It really wasn't going to be much different from his old school.
The young student slipped his shades over his eyes and grinned. "Well don't worry about much trouble from me. I defend myself and go for friendly spars. And thanks for letting me Know I can at least count on one person to help if I need it." He said.

"No problem, man. It's my job after all." The schizo replied with a smile. Finally there was a student that didn't live to cause him and the administration hell. And why would they? The teachers weren't that bad. Sure, there were a few assholes here and there, but you have to expect that anywhere you go. It wasn't like the students were under an iron, unbending, oppressive rule. Asiv...well Zack Asiv was insane; plain and simple. From what Aureus had seen he wasn't that bad a guy if you didn't 'cause problems.
So, in all truthfulness it was the students that were the evil ones. It was the Pillar's job to beat them down, try to show them the illogicalness of their actions, help the innocent few, and run the student body, news paper, and sport teams. Sometimes Aureus wondered why he had accepted the position in the first place. Why do I have to believe in the off chance of people being good? 'Cause you're an idiot. By this time they had reached the nurse's office.
Strolling into the medium sized room, the Varsity Captain tossed the sophomore onto the bed. "Uhh...he shouldn't be too bad. Maybe just a little bruised." Aureus said before walking out. "So, any questions about the school?" He asked Niles.

Niles thought for a moment. he knew there were alot of things he wanted to know. but He also knew that he would learn most of them as he went along. he figured he would be smart and ask a good question. "Well mostly who should I avoid if I don't want trouble? You know the type of people who are gonna go out and cause problems for others for some reason or another. And not like the guy you are holding up. But i mean the real dangerous ones." He said as they walked.

Seems he's a smart one. That was a good question. "Well, I'd recommend you watch out for the Supervisor, Mr. Asiv, he's just a tad insane. Uhh...and then there's Faust, the Psychology teacher. He's got a short fuse, and loves beating students down. And the only other person worth mentioning would probably be Atticus. He's doesn't like to be bothered. He's not really a hard ass err anything, well...you just have to meet him." The Pillar responded casually. Why couldn't more of his social encounters be like this? With people who just wanted some help.

Niles listened then nodded. "Alright thanks. I'm not much into the idea of makeing alot of enemies. Sparring partners mabey. Enemies no way. Nothing good comes of that." He said with a small chuckle. He decided to walk along with the older student for a bit. There was probably alot he could learn quickly from this person. "So any other tidbits of advice or info you could give me?" he asked.

"It's hard getting people to leave you alone here. Always some idiot looking for a fight, but I suppose it's that way everywhere," The dark haired boy said before Niles asked for more information. "Hmm...I suppose going out for a sport would do you some good. Our soccer team's pretty solid this year," Aureus said.
Being the Varsity Captain, he was obligated to plug the sport teams. Sure, he may not be in charge of soccer, but he wasn't bad at it. Fight Club was his thing anyway. "But...if you're ever lookin' for a friendly spar head down to the gym after school. Fight Club's starting soon."
