There was blood everywhere…..
She could feel it underneath her feet, could hear that tiny splashing sound as she walked through it. What had happened here? She had no clue how or even why she was in this place. It was too dark for her to get a bearing of her surroundings.
Her foot hit something soft, and she nearly jumped in surprise. She had not seen anything there before, all she could see was that endless sea of blood so what in the world did she hit? She looked down and had to hold back a scream……..It was a severed head. Not just any ones head either. Though it was soaked in blood and its face contorted in terror and pain those shocking white eyes and ghost white hair gave its owner away.
“No.” she whispered in a shaky voice, her hands covering her mouth to stop herself from screaming. No he could be dead, not like this. Katsuri had been such a strong man, almost invincible how could he let himself die in such a matter. How could something like this happen! Mitsukai took a step back, she had to leave this place she couldn’t stand looking at that head anymore. She almost fell backwards on something else, turning around she now saw the rest of his body. Or at least pieces of it. There were body parts scattered around all over the place. Unfortunately not all of them were Katsuri’s. She could just barely make out the tiny form of a girl’s body nearby. Split cleanly in half. Blood drenched her face, making her hair stick to her face. Drea was dead now too. Tears streamed down Mitsukai’s face her small body shaking uncontrollably. Who could do such a thing, Drea had done nothing to anyone she was sweet and innocent. Even Katsuri as horrible as he was to his own children when he abandoned them didn’t deserve to die like this.
An ear piercing scream could be heard from behind her now making the little girl jump. She recognized the voice all too well . No not her, please god don’t let it be her. The scream was cut short before Mitsukai could turn back. Now all she could hear was a chopping sound, and a maniacal laugh. Her body screamed for her to run. To escape while she could and not look back but she knew all too well that she had to face whatever it was behind her. Again Mitsukai turned slowly to confront whatever it was behind her and her eyes went wide with shock at what she saw.
Kevala laid sprawled out in a pool of her own blood. A huge axe sticking out of her chest, her face frozen in fear. Her murder was standing over her, pulling the blood stained axe from her chest. The killer turned and Mitsukai was struck again with shock.
The killer bared a striking resemblance to her. They had the same build though the other woman was taller then she was, her hair was similar as well it was long and shaded her face but unlike Mitsukai she had a single red streak on her right side, their facial features were also very similar making them look almost like twins but unlike her this woman had one gold and one red eye. The killer stopped laughing now once her eyes fell on little Mitsukai. That smile still plastered on her blood stained face as she made her way toward her.
Mitsukai whimpered her body frozen on the spot. She couldn’t move, she couldn’t breath. Everyone she ever cared about were all dead, there was no one to save her and she herself could not lift up a finger to defend herself. She was going to die by the hands of this strange crazy woman and there was nothing she could do about it.
“W-why……..how could you do this?” she cried breaking down to tears. This couldn’t be happening and yet here she was. Standing amongst the dead and in front of the woman who slaughtered them all like rats. It was just too much to bare.
“What all of this?” The other said taking a look around at the massacre she had done and let out another bone chilling laugh. “Don’t you like it? I did this all for you!”
“ I never asked for this!” she cried what the hell was this woman talking about? What the hell made her think that Mitsukai would want such a disaster. The woman tilted her head as she looked at Mitsukai, that grin never faltering as if this was somehow quite amusing to her.
“What are you talking about? Didn’t you want to become stronger? Those things were holding you back so I thought I’d dispose of them. Especially that one over there.” She pointed at Katsuri’s head. “Don’t tell me that you never wished him dead.” Mitsukai just stared at the woman in shock, confusion, and utter terror.
“How did you know about that?” Yes she had in a moment of anger wished that she could kill Katsuri but seeing his lifeless body like that had snapped her out of that hatred towards him, yes Mitsukai was a bit violent by nature but even she had her limits she would never do such a thing. The woman made her way towards the smaller girl, faces inches apart as her multi-colored eyes burrowed into her gold.
“Don’t you know?” She asked, that insane grin growing even more as she spoke, her voice nothing more then a whisper now. “…….I am you.” She vanished before Mitsukai could even register what the other had said. She could feel something heavy in her hands now. Looking down Mitsukai now saw the axe in her hands and her clothing soaked in the blood of the ones she cared for.
Mitsukai let out a blood curdling scream as she woke up, nearly falling out of bed. Looking around the dark room she realized she was no longer in that blood soaked place, she was safe in her room. There was no more blood, and her friends were not laying in pieces around her. Drawing a strangled and shaky breath she would curl up into a ball, her silky white night gown hugging her small form as she laid there trying to stop herself from shaking.
She had been having that nightmare for weeks now ever since the encounter with Gabriel and soon after discovering his death. It had been keeping her awake for most of the night, she could barely sleep anymore without waking up screaming in the middle of the night.
What made it so bad was each time she had the dream it became so much more vivid every night. And that woman….when it first started out that woman had been nothing more then a shadow but she had slowly begun to take a more solid shape each night. This had been the first time she had actually seen her in her true form and it frightened her.
She didn’t know why she was having this dream, she didn’t know who that woman was but she was scared. Very scared. Mitsukai needed more than ever someone to comfort her but she had no one. She could not turn to Kevala, she had her own issues to deal with that it would be bad for Mitsukai to trouble her over something like this. And despite her like for Drea she still felt hesitant to talk to her, she didn’t know how the other would react to this, especially since Drea was always dead in the dream. And of course Katsuri was not here either, even if he had not left she doubt he would take the nightmares seriously. Mitsukai was frightened and alone, as she always had been in life and she felt absolutely hopeless.
A quick glance at the clock would tell her that it was only 1:15 am, she had went to sleep less then an hour ago just because she had been too scared to go to sleep in the first place and had to force herself to rest. With a heavy sigh the little girl would hug her knees and bury her face into her legs as she fough back tears. Tonight was going to be another long sleepless night.
