OOC: PHS 42 continuation.
Matrim's last post for clarity's sake:
The kid had a manic laughter, and a flash of Marquise came to mind. It was much the same as then, when Matrim had him beaten down, he laughed at Matrim before shape shifting into Reira. He began to continue the onslaught. Even as the kid spat and grabbed Matrim's legs he continued to put weight on the guys chest. Only now he wanted to go for the kill, not the destruction or beating. So he put his hand that was punching over the kids mouth, and would pinch his nose shut, all the while his hand still aflame.
Matrim's legs were being scorched, the pain in his thigh muscles growing, but he knew that if he could just knock the kid out that his arms would go limp. Still, Matrim was smiling, eyes alive in manic as he did this, laughing, tuning out the noises of the School Captain, but instead remembering the feeling of being trapped in a safety room, an army of soldiers outside the doors finding ways to blast through it, and Marquise, the sociopath killer, killing people on the inside all the while.
Matrim had gone bye bye.
IC:
As it turned out, Aureus' spit hadn't distracted his opponent at all. Instead, the (then) Varsity Captain shoved his flaming paw over his predecessor's mouth. Controlling his natural reaction, the dull eyed boy swallowed his anxiety and mirrored the manic laughter in Matrim's eyes. His mind, however, was busy running potential plays like an expert chess player. No, inhale the flames. You don't have much of a choice anyway. Alright, good. That'll convince him he's in control. You can't afford to be defiant right now, Levi instructed.
And so the burning flames that the ex-Pillar swallowed shot terror through his body and settled in his wide, tearing eyes. This way, Matrim would be less suspicious when Aureus let go of his legs and began flailing his forearms about, maintaining eye contact all the while to underscore his fright. The flailing was intentional though, as the Senior still possessed enough strength to crack the bluish, green tile beneath them. Desperately, he grabbed a shard of linoleum and attempted to slice open his attacker's femoral artery. Even if he missed that precious target, the laceration should be jarring enough to buy Aureus a few valuable seconds to shove Matrim back and once again swing his legs up around his head. From there, he'd slam the kid's skull into the ground.
